"All right, Jeremiah...tell us everything you know," Nathaniel said, looking directly at him.

"I've called you because you are my closest circle and I trust you, "my vampire friend said as he looked at the rest of the alphas.

We were few, but from the strongest and largest packs. Dimitri was one of our closest, he had helped Nate in the battle in his pack. Shum was young and powerful, his warriors among the most skilled.

"I'll tell you the truth as best I can: the king is weakened, we still don't know exactly why. We think it has to do with the wolf world falling apart, also because he is losing power over the alliances between the wolves," Jeremiah explained.

"I don't understand. He's supposed to be one of the First Wolves, how can he be weak, is his life in danger?" asked Alpha Shum.

"When Maximus took the position of king, the packs were in trouble, it was many, many years ago, my great-grandfather was very young. My father told me that for us wolves to survive, Maximus had to balance that power. He represents all the wolves, and if something happens to them, to us... he is affected too," Alpha Dimitri explained. He was a gray-haired, stocky wolf and one of the most experienced.

"That's right... there have also been certain barbarities against nature... there are demons involved and more, rogues and plans to destroy the wolf world as we know" Jeremiah explained.

"An Alpha who wanted to be a hybrid, vampires possessed...we saw all that in the war that happened in my pack. What Jeremiah says is true, and I can assure you it is even worse. I saw it first hand not so long ago. If all this happens again on a large scale, and with Maximus weakened... we are in danger." Nathaniel explained then in detail, and the others seemed surprised.

“May the Moon goddess help us!... All our natural enemies have set out against us..." says Alpha Shum worried.

"The only way we can help the king is to concentrate all the powers of the wolves and support him, but that won't be all... Maximus himself have to do his part," the vampire explained. I think he means that the king must select a mate.

"We need to call the rest of the Alphas and convince them to support Maximus. Things like this have happened in the past, gentlemen...we can't let it happen again...it would be the end of us. Not just the wolves, but the supernatural world as well," he commented.

"Whatever the enemy is up to, if they are involved in so many aberrations... they certainly need to be stopped. Then the focus is on finding more allies and preventing them from gaining more power," Alpha Dimitri pointed out.

"We'll talk to as many packs as it takes..." says Alpha Shum.

"That's right... we need everyone's help," Jeremiah said, looking tired, as if carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.

"You'll see, we'll make it. Wolves are stubborn, but at the end of the day, what binds us together is our people, our packs. I don't think anyone wants to get involved with demons," Nathaniel explained.

"I trust that, Mister Wolf...I also have to meet with the delegates of the vampire clans that have come... and other creatures. And believe me, they are all worse than the most stubborn Alpha." Jeremiah says, and I accompany him to inform the king.

"I'll leave you gentlemen..." Nate says.

"We'll talk soon, Nate... it's good to see you again," I tell him with a smile.

"We're very happy for you, my friend. I'm sure Penelope will want to see you," he tells me and leaves to meet the other Alphas. I know he'll want to see her mate soon, we're all the same here.

"So you think they are on our side?" asks Maximus as we bow to him.

"Yes, Your Highness... they believe in you," Jeremiah says, the king snorts. He looks much thinner and older, though his mind is still arrogant. He really is getting worse.

"So our fate depends on a handful of Alphas..."

"Not only that, Your Majesty. We believe there is a communication between Randall and Miss Mildred, We have the rare opportunity to get a glimpse into the plans of our enemies...." Jeremiah says.

I notice that he doesn't tell him everything, and from the king's reaction, I understand why. Maximus looks especially interested.

"What do you mean?"

"She seems to sense what the Alpha's next moves will be, which may help us...she has already seen something, but we believe she can see more. It is not exact and the communication will be closed sooner or later. But it is useful..."

"Is that true? So we have to do what a human thinks?" asks the king, annoyed.

"I would say we have to consider what she tells us..." says Jeremiah.

"Well... I leave it up to you and Constantine. What do we know about Randall?" he asks.

"We've left him alone in the most basic meetings, he's very observant and attentive. We need to keep him here until his last move, which should be soon. "

"Mmm. Let's see if you are right. And… have you heard from Ava?"

"No, Your Majesty..." I reply and he grunts.

"All right. That's it, you can go now."

"Thanks, man... for not telling all you know about Millie," I say to Jeremiah as we leave, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"The power of your mate is great.... and therefore very attractive. Let's keep that between us while we can. We need to keep an eye on Randall, I have a feeling he has little time left in the castle. And you... keep an eye on your mate," he says. He doesn't have to tell me twice"

On my way out, I see Nate standing in a hallway, apparently having found his Luna, and they are deep in a kiss, his hands sliding down her dress.

I don't blame them, that's exactly what I want to do to Millie right now. But when I find her, she's in the throes of a nightmare, and I pick her up.

"What happened, my love?" I ask her.

"They want to take me away! The eclipse is important! And they said that the bond between Randall and me is broken.... I guess they can't be in my nightmares anymore, but I can see what's going on with them. They have allies… warriors…" she says agitated.

Within minutes, I have Jeremiah in front of me and we break the news. I hold her in my arms and comfort her.

"So the plan is that they'll probably take you out by force, especially if they think Randall is going to lose. And they're right, the eclipse is an important time..." he says.

"They have support... warriors..." she says trembling.

"Could you see anyone else, miss?"

"Maybe... it was all so fast" she replies as I kiss her forehead.

"I'll bring you pictures of some alphas..." he says. Jeremiah knew the moment was coming, and I was starting to panic.

"We have to hide her, we have to protect her! Fool them if we have to!... let them think the plan is going ahead, but don't take them..."

"Exactly, Big Alpha... and I think I know just the way to do that."
