"You're a fucking whore! All women are the same! They all play innocent and victims and just are ungrateful bitches!" said Randall, dragging me by my feet as I struggled.

I kicked him, and he gave me a slap that made me dizzy. He grabbed my collar, and my feet didn't touch the ground.

"I should put a chain on this collar, don't you think? I could lead you around like my pet..." he said hatefully as I kicked in vain. I put my hand in my pocket and searched for the knife.

"I'm going to teach you how to behave. A Luna has to behave like a lady... not like a wild animal," he said.

"After all I had done for you...! I gave you clothes and said that I was sorry!" he shouted.

"I am an Alpha! A real Alpha! And you will respect me... by hook or by crook. Believe me, it's in your best interest to do this the easy way... even though I'm more than willing to teach you the hard way..." he said, and when he didn't expect it, I stabbed him.

He looked surprised, and he stared at the wound in his stomach.

"What...?"

I pulled out the knife and watched him fall to his knees.

I knew this wouldn't kill him, and a part of me, a really shameful part, hoped he wouldn't die. This would just give me time to run. I saw the blood coming out and staining his shirt, and I ran into the forest without looking back.

I jumped over tree roots and ran deeper and deeper. I had no idea where I was going, but it seemed to me that I couldn't get to a worse place than where I was.

I didn't know what I was going to survive on, and frankly, I didn't care. I truly believed I could make it. Then someone grabbed me.

"Little thing... you don't understand your destiny," Ava said.

She was dressed in black again and moved so fast, but all the same, I tried my luck as I attacked her with the knife.

She seemed amused. She grabbed my wrist and pointed the knife at her chest; she was wearing a tight black leather top. I saw her eyes were very dark, her lips were painted black, and she was smiling.

"Do you want to try? Go ahead. The wolfsbane doesn't hurt me, nothing hurts me," she said, pushing my hand.

The knife went through her body, but it didn't do any damage. She was unreal.

"Of course, I don't blame you... and I must say it was quite entertaining watching the Alpha bleed. Attack him with wolfsbane? Pretty nice. Not to mention, you managed to run quite a bit from the castle... that's something. You have my respect," she said matter-of-factly.

"I don't need to be a wolf or a human to understand what you've been through. And that we all said you'd be fine, and within minutes... that Alpha hurt you. But... do you believe me when I tell you that I'm going to make sure it doesn't happen again? We demons don't usually make promises because we can't break them," she said.

I shrugged my shoulders as if I were asking a question.

"Why? Mmm... first, because it's a request from my master, the king. Second, because... when you were in the bar... I should have protected you. I failed. Don't tell anybody I said so," I didn't know why, but I believed her. I believed in a demon more than anyone else.

"Come on, let's go... there will be a meeting, and then you will sleep with me, what do you think? Of course... don't get your hopes up. You're too petite for my taste..." she said, and it made me smile.

She took the knife and went through my pockets looking for something else.

"I'll take this for a moment, but then I'll give it back to you, what do you think? A girl should always be well protected," she said, taking the wolfsbane pack.

On our way back, I found Asher in distress. He looked worried, and my heart reacted at the same time with hope and fear.

"We told you Ava was in charge!" Jeremiah said, holding him.

"Mate! Goddess Millie! Are you okay?"

"Sorry Alpha... Little thing has been through a lot and I don't think she likes being around men right now... especially Alphas,"

"Would you stop calling her that?"

"How?" she asked.

"Little thing..."

"She's little... and she likes it," Ava said, and he grumbled.

Asher kept his distance, but I could still feel him behind me, like he was circling around me.

"Thanks for bringing her back, Ava..." Jeremiah said.

"You're welcome, little vampire... that's what I did. All good," Ava said with a smile, and we found ourselves in a small room where Constantine was also present.

"Oh yes... and you did everything right looking fucking gorgeous, you were sexy as hell..." Duncan said, unable to take his eyes off her.

"I was actually born there," she said, and he smiled with delight.

"Miss, could you tell us exactly what happened?" asked Constantine, and immediately Asher handed me the notebook he had given me, and I started writing.

They all read it, and I heard a horrible growl coming from his chest.

Suddenly Asher looked as if he was about to transform, his body began to shake, and his eyes darkened.

"I confirm all that... the broken window, everything. And she stabbed him pretty good... it's too bad Randall was going to live," Ava said with a pitiful expression.

"That fucking bastard! I was going to break him into pieces!" Asher said loudly while Duncan and Jeremiah tried to calm him down.

"Bro... I knew you wanted to kill him, and frankly, he deserved it... but please, control your wolf," Duncan begged.

"I could have calmed him down... I could have knocked him out for at least three days," Ava said, sitting with her feet up on the table.

Asher was getting more and more out of control and seemed to be going after Randall... for revenge, which gave me a strange comfort.

"We were thinking about a sanction for Alpha Randall... this was getting out of hand, and it had only been a few hours," Constantine said, looking at me curiously. I guess he thought, all because of this girl?

"Men... I mean... let's go," Ava said, leading me to her room.

It was extra dark, much larger than the others, and it was decorated with bats, crows, and other black animals. I saw that it had a door that seemed to lead to another room.

"I don't sleep much, so make yourself comfortable," she said as she handed me back my bag of clothes.

"Take this too...," she said, handing me a black leather backpack in which I put all my things.

Suddenly I wrote it down in the notebook and handed it to her.

"Do you want me to teach you how to defend yourself? Ummm... let's see," I lied down on a bed with black sheets.

I had a dream where someone was stroking my hair, I smelled the forest, and I sighed with pleasure.
