Werewolf
Sold by my Alpha, bought by my Mate Chapter 122: Stalking her mind
Randall
"If not now, when? We have many allies: vampires, rogues, wolves and alphas... When the heck are we going to attack? What the hell are we waiting for?" I asked to The Whisperers.
There had been a time when they had been isolated, regrouping after their brother's disappearance. I didn't think they mourned; it seemed to me that these creatures had no soul or heart, but I had to admit that it had been a hard blow.
They still looked tall and imposing, even more so, but I sensed that some of their power had diminished, and they seemed to be adjusting to that. However, they looked more determined than ever.
"Soon, Alpha, soon," was all they say to me, and I was about to lose my patience.
I saw them bonding with Balthazar, while I had to control the other Alphas and warriors who wanted war as much as I did. I wanted to call the rest of our allies and shout that war was coming.
"These creatures are leaving us out," Balo said angrily.
"Yes, and I can't take much more," I ventured into their tent and found them gathered with the vampire, looking at maps and territories of the packs.
"These are all taken... we've already lost the bridge."
"It's not much, but we have to stop this... at this rate..."
"They're gaining the upper hand, but I don't know how," one of the demons said, obviously worried.
"Alpha..." Balthazar said, looking at me.
"What are you doing here?" they asked me, but I turned the question back to them.
"What are you doing here? And why didn't you invite me to these meetings? Obviously there are problems and I need to know," I insisted, showing that I wasn't going to leave without an answer. "What is it? Is that serious?"
"It's just a setback," one of the demons said, standing up; I could swear he was getting taller.
"What's happening, Alpha, is that the packs we were still negotiating with seem to have sided with the king."
"But how is that possible?" we got the numbers, we were winning allies.
"There's only one explanation... we think it's because of your mate, your human mate."
"Mildred?"
"That's right, we told you she had a special gift, she had dreams where she could see what was happening, now it seems she has developed it even more, we don't know how, but she must be controlling it. They're watching us... anticipating our moves."
" How do you know that?" I asked them, intrigued.
"Randall, your mate, along with the king, has visited several of the packs we hoped would support us... or at least have under control. But she seems to have turned them against us. And word has spread that she can see the future... do you understand now? We could have controlled her if you hadn't marked the she-wolf!" the vampire shouted angrily.
That scoundrel! Who does he think he is, yelling at me like that?
" If you had helped me get my mate like I planned, this wouldn't be happening! " I said angrily, but the vampire jumped on me, coming close and insulting me, while The Whisperers didn't even come close to interfering.
"You ruined your chances with your own mate. You were with other she-wolves, you hit her, and she ran away from you. It seems that the human did everything not to be with you. And is that our fault? You did everything to make her choose our enemy! It is almost like you work for the king!" the vampire shouted at me.
How dare him?
I didn't think twice and hit Balthazar, he defended himself, but within seconds we were repelled by an abyssal force and ended up being thrown out of the tent. One of the Whisperers was very close to me.
"None of this is helping us..."
"This idiot pretends to come and tell me how to act!" I shouted furiously.
"The past is gone, we need to focus on what's coming... we need to find a way to gain an advantage," the demon said. I stood up.
"I can do it... I could try to use her powers or the demoness's to get into her mind."
"You've been useless enough," the vampire yelled.
I was on the verge of punching him again, but this seemed like a good option, since I had been begging Ava for days to help me see my mate.
"Think about it, I had a connection with her, and if it's true that I lost it, there might still be something," I told the demons.
"It will take a lot of concentration, Alpha."
"She's my mate, there's no better connection than that," I said, and it seemed like I was convincing them. Finally, I was winning something!
"We'll do the test, Alpha," the demons said, despite Balthazar's protests.
I was amazed that they wanted to do it right away. The situation must be very complicated, and even though all I wanted to do was to see my mate, I did my best to make it work.
They sat me down, and they were in front of me, my wolf was agitated, and I was nervous. I knew they could have helped me see her a long time ago, those fuckers.I missed her so much.
"Focus, Alpha, see where your mate is," they said, taking my hands. The demon's hands were pale, awful and cold and for a few minutes nothing happened, I felt like my head would explode, but the desire to see her was so strong that my wolf concentrated as well.
"Look for her..."
And suddenly... I could see her. She's in another pack, talking to other Alphas.
"What do you see?" the demons asked me.
"She's in meetings, they introduce her everywhere. They're in the north, where you can almost see the northern lights," I said, and they sighed.
The festive atmosphere in that pack could mean they've closed the deal, or they were so excited for my mate. Suddenly I stared at her, and she turned around as if she knew where I was.
"Here I am, little dove..." I said, and she shivered, I was pretty sure she doesn't hear me. But still... she felt me. She looked hot, sexy with a fancy dress.
"That's right... I'm here for you," I told her, and I saw her talking to Asher. That bastard!
He was holding her, taking her, hugging her. The familiarity and obvious intimacy between them made me want to puke.
"What are they saying?" the demons asked me, they couldn't see with me, which was better. But I could only hear her. I was so focused on her that everything else was secondary.
She turned again, and suddenly I was ejected from this vision or whatever it was and when I came back I didn't know where I was, it is like my body had gone to where she was. It was incredibly magical.
"Very well, Alpha, you've given us a good look. I think we can use it," they said to me as I gave them some data.
"Can we go to war now?"
"We can start planning. It won't be easy, but we think we know how to act," one of the demons said, and I felt victorious.
I had seen her, my wolf leaped for happiness. And I knew I would see her again.
Soon very soon. I felt I can touch her.
