Werewolf
Sold by my Alpha, bought by my Mate Chapter 11: A hidden agenda
Asher
"We should have finished off Red Moon a long time ago... if that pack had been ours... we would have found our mate, and she wouldn't have suffered..." my wolf said bitterly.
"We didn't do it just because you wanted to dedicate yourself to finding her. Don't be a hypocrite, Cormac," I said angrily, and he grumbled.
The agreement had been very simple: none of us could mark her, mate with her, or claim her. Casting spells or using other solutions was also forbidden. She had to choose.
"It was a... convenient solution..." Jeremiah said. I didn't agree with him much, but it was the King's choice. If it were up to me, I'd take my mate straight to my pack and problem solved.
"Alpha Asher... I know my decision means suffering for you... but I just want to explain the reasons..." Maximus said.
We were in a private meeting and Constantine showed me a map.
"This whole area is completely infested with traitors. There is an important group of Alphas who have been poisoned with the idea of usurping His Majesty's throne. We must make sure to crush their allies and wipe them out," Constantine said, an old and very serious wolf.
"This map includes the Red Moon Pack..." I said.
"Yes, that's why I gave the pack to Randall, even though you were entitled to it for killing his traitor brother, and that's also why we agreed that Randall could fight for the human," the king said.
"I don't understand..."
"We need to get information. If we kill our suspects... we won't know if there is something else hidden, if there are other enemies," the king explained.
"Our idea is to keep our enemy close until we can gather enough information and eliminate them... for good," Constantine said.
"You will have Randall here, so we can follow his movements," I said. I didn't like the idea, but I understood.
"But for him to trust me, I have to show that I am as fair as possible... I trust that you will fight for your mate, and win," the king said.
"So it will be, Your Majesty..." I said.
"I also have other suspicions... but I will make them known in time. I have already assigned several warriors to investigate the bar, we will bring them down," the king said.
"I know it wasn't the happiest solution... but you'll be near your mate, and that's better than nothing," Jeremiah said as we left. We met Ava in the gardens.
"Little thing is getting ready to spend the first night with you..." she said, and my heart raced. First, we'll go to the bar to clear some things up, and then I'll come back to her.
"Alright, alright... let's go back to that horrible place…" Duncan said. Then he seemed stunned by the sight of the demoness.
"By the moon and all the stars... you're the most beautiful woman I have ever seen," he said, staring at her. She smiled.
"Easy, wolf... you're going to drool," she moved closer to him.
"I'm not exaggerating... you're gorgeous and.... sassy. I like it," Duncan said.
"I'm not available... doggy," she said and patted his cheek. Duncan didn't even bother to be called a doggy.
"By the way, Little Thing said she had some stuff before she got caught..." she added and left.
During the car ride, I had to listen to my Beta go on and on about the demoness.
"If I didn't know better, I'd think you found your mate," I said thoughtfully.
"My wolf is crazy about her, but I don't think so," he admitted. He had the face of a fool in love. That's probably my face, too.
We searched the bar for evidence and following the smell I came across some things in a storage room, a small bag with some items in it, old things, some pretty damaged. There was a small drawing, a notebook, and paints.
"She likes to paint..." I was crazy about everything that had to do with her. I looked to see if anything had her name on it, but found nothing.
I noticed that the king's warriors had arrested some employees who would go on trial.
"Are you from Red Moon? How does this crappy place work?" I asked him, and when he didn't answer, I beat him until .... he was more willing to talk.
"The Alpha's father was the one who organized this business and put some of his pack to work here," he explained, his mouth bleeding.
"The collar... how can I remove it?" I asked.
"Only with a master key that the Alpha has..." the man said.
"How did Ava get it off?" I asked.
"Beautiful Ava is a demoness... she can do many things," Duncan answered with a smile that told me he was thinking of her.
"Take him away..." I told the guards as the wolf screamed in despair. I hoped he'd have a terrible death.
When I returned to the castle after buying a few things, I was completely nervous about spending the night with her. I had to win her over.
"I'm a better prospect than Randall... but my poor mate is so nervous and suspicious. I only have one chance," I thought to myself.
"Do you think she will kill me if I ask her out?" asked Duncan.
"A date... with Ava? You're really messed up, dude," I told him.
Close to my room, I found Ava and my mate.
"Here's Little thing as promised... safe and sound," the demoness said, and I saw my friend eating Ava up with his eyes.
"Welcome... mate," I said, opening the door, and Ava practically had to push her inside.
"By the way, her name is... Mildred," Ava said and left after winking at Duncan. I closed the door carefully and saw her trembling at the other end of the room.
Mildred... I finally knew her name. The name of my mate.
"Millie..." I said smiling, and she didn't seem to mind the nickname.
"I brought you some things..." I said, showing her the bags with new clothes, cosmetics, and anything else she might need. I left the bags half-open. But she didn't even touch them. I swallowed and took out the other bag.
"I found this..."
When she saw the bag with her things, she reacted. She slowly approached me and seemed relieved.
"I'm going to figure out how to get that necklace off you. I won't rest until I do," I told her and she looked calmer. I felt someone watching us and I closed the windows, I just wanted to be with her.
"You must be tired... you can sleep on the bed, I'll sleep on the couch. I swear I won't hurt you. I would never hurt you," I told her, praying that she could see in my eyes that what I said was true.
She seemed reluctant, but finally fell asleep, still wearing my shirt. I stared at her, wanting to touch her hair, her dark soft hair. Cormac was almost purring with happiness.
I would give anything for this beautiful creature.
