Forbidden Fruit: Mated To My Sister's Best Friend Chapter 102
Sofia's Point of View
"I think it would be a good idea for you to speak to the members that are outside," Eric said once we were finished eating.
"Okay," I said. I was nervous because I had never spoken to a crowd before, but I knew Ethan would be by my side.
"Let's go greet your guest, My Love," Ethan said, and we walked hand in hand to the front door. Guards and warriors were outside, making sure nothing bad happened. The outside of the castle was full of people. It was strange to me that all of these people came to my birthday to see me. I was a nobody, or at least that was what I always thought. I guess to them, I was their future Werewolf Queen.
Eric walked to the front of us with Tammie by his side. Ethan held my hand while my dad stood on my other side, and Stacie stood next to him. I looked over at her, and she smiled that warm, motherly smile. I knew she was trying to tell me that I could do this and everything would be okay. I couldn't help but smile back at her.
"Everyone quiet down," Eric said, and everyone stopped talking. "First, I would like to say thank you for coming tonight. It is a great honor to introduce you to Alpha Don of the Wolf Fang Pack's daughter and my son's mate, your future Alpha Queen, Sofia Jones," Eric said, and everyone started to cheer.
Eric looked at me, signaling for me to speak. I walked up to where he was standing with Ethan by my side.
"Hello, everyone. Thank you for coming to my party. I am so happy to meet you all. I promise to be the best Werewolf Queen I can..."
"Let me go. That is my daughter. I should be inside with her. Sofia, tell them to let me in," I heard my mom say, causing me to stop speaking.
"Mom," I said
"Sofia, let's tell these Dogs that I am your mother, and I should be inside," My mom said, causing me to frown at the way she was talking about everyone.
"Mam, you can't come in," One of the guards said
"What do you mean I can't come in? This is ridiculous. She is my daughter.," my mom screamed. I was embarrassed because everyone was silent and watching the scene my mom was making.
"It's okay; let her in," I said. The guard looked at Ethan, nodded his head, and told him it was okay for her to come inside. The guard let her go.
"Thank you," My mom said, and she walked up to me. "I can't believe they would treat me like that. This is ridiculous," My mom said way louder than she needed to.
"Tina, calm down. You are causing a scene," Tammie said
"How do you expect me to calm down when they wouldn't let me into my daughter's birthday party? I have every right to be upset," My mom said angrily. Everyone was still looking at us because of how loud she was being.
"Come on, Tina. It's Sofia's birthday, and you are embarrassing her," my dad said, and my mom looked at him. Stacie was standing by him, his arm wrapped around her waist. I could tell by my mother's facial expression that she didn't like that.
"How dare you speak to me like that, Don. I have every right to be upset. They wouldn't even let me inside. I bet you are the reason, aren't you?" My mom said
"What are you talking about?" My dad asked with a confused expression on his face.
"You know what I am talking about. You told them not to let me inside because you didn't want me to be here. You want to act like I am not her mother. You want everyone to think that she is her's," My mom said as she pointed at Stacie.
"Mom," I said, but my mom kept talking.
"I know I am right. You want to make everyone think that she is your so-called mate's child. I bet that bitch put you up to it. Didn't you bitch?" My mom said as she glared at Stacie.
"Don't speak to my mate like that, Tina. You are way out of line," my dad growled. His eyes were turning black, and I knew he was angry. Stacie put her hand on his shoulder, causing him to look at her.
"Calm down, Don. Think about how uncomfortable this is making Sof," Stacie said softly, and my dad sighed.
"You are right. I am sorry, Sof," My dad said, but my mom laughed
"You are weak, Don. I guess we know who wears the pants in your relationship. That bitch," My mom screamed, and I had had enough.
"That is enough, mom. You are being rude. Stacie has done nothing to you," I said, and my mom looked at me.
"So, you are taking her side, now?" My mom asked
"I am not taking anyone said. You are being rude," I said
"Oh, I see how it is. You have a new mom. Fine, then, if that is how you feel, then I will leave," My mom said
"Mom," I started to say, but she cut me off.
"No, it's fine. If you don't want me in your life, I will leave," my mom said, walking away. I could feel the tears coming to my eyes. I couldn't believe my mom would cause a scene like she did. I guess I shouldn't have been shocked, but I thought she was changing.
I looked around to see everyone still staring at me. I could tell they felt sorry for me, and I hated that. I didn't want anyone to pity me. I didn't know what to do, so I ran away and headed to my room as the tears left my eyes. I ran up the steps to the second floor and to the elevator. I felt strong arms wrap around me as the elevator door closed. I instantly knew it was Ethan.
"It's okay," Ethan said as he hugged me tightly.
"No, it's not. My mom made a huge scene in front of everyone. I bet everyone is upset that they came to meet me now. I bet they all think I am just like her," I cried.
"That is not true, My Love. No one blames you for what your mom did. They know you are not your mother," Ethan said.
"I bet your parents are embarrassed," I said once I was finished crying
"No, they are not, and they don't blame you either. We should get back out there. Everyone is waiting for us," Ethan said, and I took a deep breath
"Okay," I replied. Everyone showed up for me, and it would be wrong for me not to go back out there. Plus, Ethan was right. This was my mom's fault. I shouldn't let her ruin my night.
