Forbidden Fruit: Mated To My Sister's Best Friend Chapter 239
Sofia's Point of View
"I don't understand why you won't let us question Ava. We are the werewolf council, and that is our job," One of the councilmen said.
It was the day after Ethan and I went to dinner with our family. The werewolf council ended up coming around five in the morning to the castle. Ethan and I didn't get home until around midnight. We didn't get to sleep until around three in the morning, so I was very irritated when they showed up so early.
Now we are in one of the conference rooms with the werewolf council. As soon as we walked inside, Ethan told them that we were not letting them speak to Ava. Of course, they were upset.
"I don't know if you understand this, but Ethan and I are the rulers of the werewolves. You are the council members. Which means you are supposed to help us with the other werewolf packs. You are supposed to make sure that the alphas are not mistreating their packs. You are supposed to make sure that no one is scheming to harm anyone in the werewolf community. You were created to help us. We are the ones in power," I said
"That is what we are trying to do, Queen Sofia. We came because someone contacted us letting us know that Ava has woken up. That is why we came to figure out what happened."
"So you think we need your help to figure that out?" Ethan asked
"No, that isn't what I am saying. I..." The councilman started to say, but I cut him off
"I don't care what you are trying to say. We are the rulers of the werewolves, not you. There is no reason for you to come here and question anyone. We are capable of doing that ourselves. This is our castle, not yours," I said
"We know that, Queen Sofia,"
"It doesn't seem like you know that."
"You know what I think? I think the werewolf council has been getting the wrong idea. You believe that you are the ones in charge. The werewolf council has been thinking that for a long time. I think it might be time to get rid of the werewolf council," I said
What do you mean?" one of the councilmen asked
"Exactly what I said. The council was created to help the King and Queen, but you think that you are the ones in charge. You even believed you could show up at any time. Since the council doesn't understand their positions, then I don't think we have any use for them," I said. I could tell all the council members were upset. They didn't like what I was saying. I honestly didn't care. I was over the council. They always talked about their worries about others abusing their powers, but they were the main ones who did that.
"Queen Sofia, we honestly came to do our jobs. King Ethan, please talk to her. The werewolves need the council. It's for their protection."
"I agree with Queen Sofia. Ever since I was little, I saw how the council acted. You do act like you run everything. You don't understand that we are the ones who are the true rulers. Since that is how you act, then we have no use for you," Ethan said, and the councilman looked at my father
"King Ethan, please speak to Sofia. You know that the werewolves need us to keep the peace.
"I agree with my daughter. She is right. All you do is try to interfere when you are not needed."
"Great, now that that is out of the way. I, Queen Sofia, announce that starting now, there will be no more werewolf council."
"You can't do that. Who will the werewolves contact if they have something to report?"
"I will figure that out. What you need to do is worry about yourself," I said
"You all can go," Ethan said, and the men got up.
"You will regret this," The councilman said before he left.
"I have been wanting to do that since I took over as king," My dad said
"They are right, though. Now that there is no council, you do have to figure out a way for packs to report things," Tammie said
"I know. I have an idea, but right now I have to go see Ava. She is getting better and will be able to get out of the hospital soon. That means we have to figure out what her punishment is going to be," I said. Ava did a lot of terrible thing, and I knew I wouldn't be able to let her off easy. I also didn't want to kill her.
"Okay, let's go," Ethan said, and we made our way to the pack hospital.
