Forbidden Fruit: Mated To My Sister's Best Friend Chapter 191
Ella's Point of View
"I hope you are right," I told Sof, even though I was sure she wasn't. I had been suspicious about Ava since she showed up. At first, I thought I was overthinking. Yes, she was strange, but who wouldn't be if they had been treated like a slave their entire life?
When she wanted to only hang around Sof I thought she was just worried about being around others. Sof was her twin, and twins have a special bond. Then, I saw Tina and Don wanted to spend time with her, and she kept refusing to spend time with them. I understood why she didn't want to spend time with Tina. I mean, she abandoned her. Gave her to someone she didn't even know. But Don didn't do anything wrong to her. He didn't even know she existed.
I thought she would surely warm up to him, but that never happened. Then, when she didn't want to spend time with Nick or Jason, that was when I realized something might be wrong. Not to mention the way she mugs everyone besides Sof. It's clear she wants nothing to do with anyone else.
I know she is up to something, and I am sure whatever it is, isn't good. I know I wasn't tripping when I saw her trying to break into Ethan and Sof's room. That only meant one thing. Only someone up to no good would do something like that.
Sof and I went to the kitchen to get something to eat. As soon as we made it downstairs, the door opened and I was happy to see Ethan and Edward walk into the room.
"Edward, your back," I said as I ran over to him and hugged him. My movements shocked not only him but me as well. "I am sorry. I don't know what came over me," I said as I tried to move away from him but he wrapped his arms around me and pulled my body to him again.
"Don't apologize, mon amour. You can hug me whenever you want. I missed you," Edward said causing a smile on come to my face.
"I missed you too," I replied
"I came to see if you wanted to go out to eat with me?" Edward asked.
"Yeah, I would like that. I need to get ready," I replied
"Okay, I will wait for you downstairs."
"You look beautiful," Eward said as I walked over to him.
"Thanks," I replied. I was wearing a short red dress and my hair was hanging loose. Edward was wearing a black suit, and he looked like he always did, Handsome and hottt. Edward opened the passenger side door for me, and I thanked him before getting in. Then, he got walked over to the driver's side and got in, started the car, and took off.
"Where are we going?" I asked
"I thought I would take you to that nice steakhouse downtown. How does that sound?" Edward asked
"That sounds good," I replied with a smile. It took us about twenty minutes to make it to the restaurant. Edward parked in front of the building. We got out of the car, and he handed his keys to the man to park. We walked into the restaurant hand in hand.
It was amazing to me how sparks went through my body wherever he touched. The lady at the front took us to a private room and handed us a menu before leaving.
"Thanks for coming to dinner with me. I was a little worried you would say no," Edward said
"Well, I am hungry," I replied and he laughed
"I missed you, mon amour," Edward said
"I missed you too," I replied. A man walked into the room with a bottle on champagne and poured us both a glass, then he walked out.
"So, what's been going on since I've been gone? How is everything working out with that Ava girl?" Edward asked, making me think about everything that's been happening.
"Not great," I said and Edward looked at me
"What do you mean?" Edward asked
"There is something about Ava that rubs me the wrong way. I don't trust her," I said
"What happened?" Edward asked, and I told him everything. Edward listened to me without interrupting. "I am telling you, there is something off about her. I don't trust her. Whenever I feel like that about someone, I am normally right.
"Did you tell Sofia and Ethan how you feel?" Edward asked
"Yeah, but Sof thinks I am overthinking it and that Ava acts that way because of the way she is raised. I know what I saw. I know she was trying to sneak into their room. Also, even though Tina wasn't a good mother to Sof, she has been trying. She has changed a lot, and I can tell she really wants to get to know Ava. I saw her trying to talk to Ava, and she would just brush her off. It doesn't make sense that she would tell Ava those things. I feel like Ava is trying to start trouble," I said, and I looked at Edward to see that he was just looking at me with a blank expression, which caused me to sigh. "You don't believe me either, do you?" I said
"I believe you," Edward replied and I looked at him.
"You do," I asked
"Of course. We have to figure out how to prove to everyone else that she isn't who they think she is."
