Sofia's Point of View

"What did you think about today?" Lacy asked

"I don't know. It was definitely weird," I replied

"Yeah, I still can't believe your mom wanted you to wear that dress and that King Lestat showed up at the restaurant," Ella said

"Yeah, that was the second time he has shown up somewhere that I was," I replied

"Do you think he likes you? He is hot," Lacy said

"She is my brother's mate," Ella said while she was glaring at Lacy

"I am just saying. I wouldn't mind having a sexy vampire drooling over me. If I were you, I would have some fun with him," Lacy said

"You obviously don't know the strength of the mate bond," Ella said

"Neither do you. You don't have a mate either," Lacy said

"Well, I would never want anyone but Ethan. I love him and have loved him for a long time. He is the only guy I will ever want," I said truthfully.

"And Ethan has only wanted her since their eyes met," Ella added.

"But I thought he had a girlfriend all throughout high school and that he didn't break up with her until he discovered you were mates. I also heard from some of the students that they were shocked when you two got together because he would ignore you and let his girlfriend bully you," Lacy said. I am not going to lie. It hurt hearing her bring up the past. I had been trying to forget how Ethan was with me in the past, and Lacy was bringing it up again.   

"It's a long story," I said, and Lacy stayed quiet, staring at me and waiting for me to continue. "Ethan thought that Jane was going to be his mate because she was the Beta's daughter. He was in love with me, but he thought it would be best to get in with Jane since he thought she was his mate. He was hoping he would fall for her and forget about me, but that never happened. He never stopped loving me, and he couldn't stand her. He was happy when he found out I was his mate and not Jane," I said, and Lacy laughed.

"What's so funny?" Ella asked

"I am sorry, but I can't believe you would believe him. I mean, not only was he dating Jane all throughout high school and ignoring you. He also let Jane bully you. It doesn't seem like he loved you, Sof. It seems like he lied so that you would forgive him and accept him as your mate. He is an Alpha, and he would have become weak without you. I think he didn't feel anything for you until the mate bond started," Lacy said. I am not going to lie; Lacy's words had me wondering if Ethan lied to me and really only started feeling anything for me when he felt the mate bond. My heart hurt thinking there was a possibility that he only wanted me because of the mate bond. 

"That is not true, Lacy. Sof, don't listen to her. She doesn't know what she is talking about. Ethan loves you," Ella said

"You are going to say that because he is your brother and you are going to take up for him nomatter what. Sof is my cousin, and I am going to look out for her," Lacy said

"You don't know anything. Sof is my best friend. More than that she is like my sister," Ella said

"Yeah, but she isn't your sister but Ethan is  your brother and you are going to take his side over hers," Lacy said 

"That is not true," Ella replied angrily

"Sure it isn't," Lacy said and then she looked at me. "You know what? King Lestat might be a better choice for you, Sof. I think Ethan is using you. If I were you I would Rej..." Lacy said

"Okay, that is it," Ella said. Her eyes were dark letting me know that her wolf was taking over. "You need to shut up before I make you," Ella said causing me to worry. I didn't want them to get into a fight

"I am not afraid of you," Lacy said. Somehow I could tell that she was lying. 

"Oh, really. You and I both know that I am stronger than you, Lacy. You better watch yourself," Ella said

"Okay, that is enough," I said louder than I meant to, causing Lacy and Ella to look at me. "There will be know fighting or arguing. Do you understand?" I asked and Ella and Lacy looked at me with shocked expression

"Yes," They both said at the same time, causing me to sigh in relief.

"Good," I replied and they were both looking at me still will shocked expressions on their faces

"What?" I asked

"How did you do that?" Lacy asked

"How did I do what?" I asked  

"It was like you were using Alpha command on us. We couldn't go against it," Ella said, shocking me. Suddenly the front door opened and Ethan walked in. When he saw me he sighed in relief. I could tell by his facial expression that something was wrong.

"Thank the Goddess you are alright," Ethan said as he hugged me tightly. He hadn't even noticed Ella or Lacy

"What's wrong?" I asked

"Jane and Vera got away before we could get them."
