Sofia's Point of View

"This is so romantic. I wish I could have a mate like this and not some ancient vampire that thinks women are too weak to defend themselves," Ella said. We were sitting in Ethan and my room watching Romeo and Juliet. The one with Leonardo Dicaprio. 

All through the movie, Ella wouldn't stop talking about King Edwards. 

"I think he just wanted to look out for you. You are his mate, or beloved as he calls you. He is doing the same thing that any other male mate would do. I am sure he doesn't think you are weak," I said

"Are you taking his side over mine?" Ella asked

"Of course not, Ella. I am just being honest. I don't think that King Edward meant to offend you. I think he was just trying to protect you because you are his beloved," I replied 

"Yeah, right," Ella replied

"I know I am right. Look, Ella. I know you are nervous about being mated to a vampire," I said

"No, I am not," Ella said, and I looked at her without speaking, and she sighed.

"Okay, Maybe I am a little nervous,  but who wouldn't be nervous? I mean, he is the fucking vampire king. One that wanted us all dead not that long ago. How do you expect me to feel?" Ella said

"I know you have every right to be nervous. I am just trying to say that I know you want to give him a chance, and I believe you should do what your heart is telling you to do. You are the one that told me to stop thinking so much and follow my heart, right?" I said

"Yeah, but I am not sure if I can do that. This is different," Ella said

"How is it any different than when I found out Ethan was my mate? You remember how hard it was for me to trust him in the beginning and you were the one who told me about mates. You told me how mates were your other half. The one you were supposed to be with. You and King Edward are meant to be and you know it. You want to give him a chance but you are thinking too much. Just do what you want and see where it goes," I said and Ella became quiet. 

"I don't like that he was with other girls. It hurts so much just thinking about him with another woman," Ella said

"That is why the two of you need to talk. You need to tell him how you feel," I said

I heard the door open and then I could hear Ethan and King Edward talking. I looked at Ella to see she had a nervous expression on her face. "I think you should talk to him now. It is better to get everything out in the open," I said

I know you are right," Ella replied and we headed downstairs where Ethan and King Edward were talking in the living room. 

Ethan's eyes went to mine and a smile instantly appeared on his face. "Hey, My Love," Ethan said as he walked over to me and hugged me tightly. 

"Hey," I replied

"Hello Mon Amour," King Edward said 

"Hi," Ella replied

"So, did you find anything out?" I asked

No, we tried talking to the guards, but they wouldn't speak. We are going to go back down there tomorrow and try again. We will talk to Mandy tomorrow as well. Though, I am not sure if she will speak," Ethan said

"Maybe they don't know who the leader is. Maybe everyone really thought is was Monte," I said

"They are hiding something. I can tell," King Edward said

"How can you tell?" Ella asked

"I can feel it in their essence. It is a gift I have," King Edward said

"Oh," Ella said

"We will speak to them again tomorrow and see what we can find out. I think we should call it a night for now," Ethan said

"Okay, I am going to go with you to talk to them tomorrow. Maybe we can use the command to get them to speak," I said

"I already tried that and it's not working," Ethan said

"I was thinking of trying to use my command tomorrow to see if it does something," King Edward said

"What about Sof? Her command is stronger than yours, Ethan. I don't mean to offend you but she is the true ruler," Ella said

"I am not offended but I don't think that is a good idea. Sof is pregnant and will be giving birth soon. I don't want her using too much power because it could mess with her pregnancy and possibly make her go into labor," Ethan said

"I guess you are right," Ella said

"Let's talk about this tomorrow. It is late and Sof needs rest," Ethan said

"Okay, I will see you in the morning," King Edward said and then he looked at Ella. "Can we talk?" King Edward asked

"Sure."
