Ella's Point of View

I watched as the gate opened and we walked through. It didn't seem like the guards even noticed us passing them by.

'What did you do?" I asked

I hypnotised them so that we could get through. They won't even remember we left.

"Sof, are you sure you want to come with me? I don't want to take you away from your pups and Ethan," I said

"Yes, I am coming with you. I don't want to be away from them either, but I am not going to let you go by yourself to the Vampire Kingdom," Sof replied. I just looked at her. I felt guilty taking her away from Ethan and their pups. "Ella, I am not letting you do this alone. You have no reason to feel bad. I am the one who should feel bad. I should never have kept everything from you," Sof said

I knew I wasn't going to be able to change her mind, so I just agreed. We changed into our wolves and took off.

"I wish we had a car," Sof said once we arrived at a hotel in the human territory.

"I know, but if I would have taken a car, it would have been harder for me to get away," I replied

"One room, please," Sof said

"King or two double beds," The man at the counter asked

"Double," Sof replied

"That will be eighty dollars," the man said, and I paid him in cash. He gave Sof the room key and we headed to the room

"Why are we staying in a hotel like this?" I asked as we walked to the room. The hotel was old and rundown. I had never stayed in a place like that in my life

"Because if we got a nicer room we would have to pay with card. It would be easy for Ethan to find us then," Sof replied

"He probably knows you are gone and is going to be looking for us. It won't be long for him to figure out where we are going," I said

"Exactly. I am sure he knows where we are going. I don't want him to find us before we make it to the vampire kingdom. That is why we have to stay in a hotel where he can't track me with the credit card," Sof said

"That makes sense," I replied

"We should get some rest. We need to leave early,' Sof said

"Okay," I replied. Sof took a shower first, and then I took one. I didn't want to, but when I saw the bathroom, it didn't look dirty, just old like the rest of the hotel. I took a shower and put on my pajamas before going back into the room. I got on the bed and moved around, trying to get comfortable but realized that was impossible. I tried to go to sleep but I couldn't. All I could do was think about King Edward. I was still shocked that he was my mate.

How could I be mated to a vampire?

"Sof, are you asleep?" I asked after about thirty minutes of lying on the bed.

"Yes," Sof said

"I can't go to sleep. I keep thinking about King Edward and how he is my mate. It is so hard to believe," I said

"I understand why you say that. I mean, all of your memories of him were taken away," Sof said

"Because I am supposed to have dark magic inside of me, right?" I asked

"Yeah."

"I still don't understand how that could be. How could my parents make a deal with a bad guy?" I said. I was shocked when Sof told me the story about my parents making a deal with an evil warlock in order to save me when I was first born. My parents always told me not to make deals with anyone evil.

"They did it because they love you. They are your parents and they would do anything for you. Now that I am a mother I can understand why they made the decision that they made," Sof said.

"I know. I just still can't believe this happened. I can't believe everyone kept this from me. It also makes me wonder how King Edward really felt about being my mate. I mean, he agreed to all of this. It was his idea to erase my memory so that I wouldn't remember him. Did he really want me to be his mate?" I asked. For some reason even though I didn't remember him I felt a pain in my heart thinking that King Edward didn't really want me to be his mate, or I guess he would call me his beloved.

"I know you have a lot of questions but trust me when I tell you that he wanted you. He fought to be with you, Ella. I am sure this is hard on him. He did it because he thought it would be in your best interest to forget about him," Sof said

"Maybe," I replied. I still had my doubts. I knew the bond was stronger to Vampires. When they found the one they were meant to be with they needed them more than Werewolves needed their mates. Werewolves have rejected their mates before but I heard that Vampires never did that. How could he stay away from me if he really wanted me?

"I don't want to talk about this anymore. We should get some rest," I said. Just thinking about it was makeing me feel sad. It hurt thinking that there was a chance that the person the Moon Goddess chose for me didn't' want me.

"Okay, goodnight," Sof said

"Goodnight," I replied. It took me a long time to go to sleep. I knew Sof was up as well. I was sure it was hard for her to be away from Ethan. That made me feel bad knowing I was the reason she wasn''t with him and her pups.

When I finally closed my eyes I dreamed of King Edward.
