 Ella's Point of View

I was so shocked when I discovered that the Vampire King was my mate. How could this be? There must be a mistake. There is no way I am mated to a vampire. King Edward is the most handsome man I have ever seen. When he called me his beloved, I felt butterflies in my stomach, and I couldn't help but shiver at the sound of his voice. I have never smelled anything better than him. He smells like cinnamon and pine. I could sniff him all day long. That thought alone is wrong. I know I need to stay away from him.  

I ran until I made it outside, and then I started walking. Vampires were watching me, but they didn't come close. I saw a table and sat down. I didn't understand how my life could change so quickly, how the Moon Goddess could be so cruel. It wasn't fair.

"Ella," I heard Sof say after about ten minutes of me sitting alone. I couldn't stop the tears from escaping my eyes. I looked up to see her walking over to me. She sat across from me at the table. Neither of us spoke for a moment. 

"How could the Moon Goddess do this to me, Sof? How could he be my mate? This has to be a mistake. There is no way the Moon goddess would make the Vampire King my Mate," I said

"You are the one that told me the Moon Goddess doesn't make mistakes, remember? You told me that she does everything for a reason. There must be a reason why she made King Edward your mate," Sof replied

"I don't know," I said

"So, what do you plan on doing? Do you plan on rejecting him?" Sof asked, and that caused me to growl. I was shocked because I had never growled at her before. 

"I am sorry, Sof. I don't know what came over me," I said

"I know what came over you. You didn't like thinking about rejecting King Edward, and that shows that you won't reject him," Sof said 

"I don't think I have to worry about rejecting him. He hates us. He decided to trick you and Ethan into coming here so that he could kill you. He wants all the werewolves dead. I can't be his mate. I can't be mated to a man that hates me like that," I said

"Yes, he did do that, but I don't think he is going to start a war now. Not after finding out a werewolf is his mate," Sof said, and I sighed.

"This entire thing is crazy. Why did this have to happen to me? I have been waiting for my mate for so long, and I find out that the Vampire King is my mate," I said

Before Sof could respond, I smelled the amazing scent of cinnamon and pine, and my heart started beating faster. King Edward was close. I looked up and saw him coming toward me. 

"Hey, don't you walk away from me," I heard Ethan say. King Edward stopped walking and looked at my brother. 

"I said stay the fuck away from my sister," Ethan said angrily.

"I already told you that isn't going to happen. She is mine," King Edward said. I was upset with myself because I got excited when he called me his. I shouldn't be getting excited. He is an evil man. 

"She is not yours and never will be yours," Ethan said. It looked like they were going to fight soon. 

"Oh, shit," Sof said as she walked over to where they were standing and stood next to Ethan. 

"Ethan, Calm down," I heard my dad say as he walked over to them. Don, Nick, and Jason were with him. 

"Calm down. How do you expect me to calm down after finding out the Vampire King is my sisters mate? You should be upset, too, Dad. He just tried to kill us," Ethan said. There were a lot of vampires gathered around, listening to the conversation. Some of them started whispering to each other. They were shocked that their King was mated to a werewolf. 

"I don't have time for this," King Edward said, and then his eyes found mine. We need to talk," he said, and he started walking over to where I was sitting at the table. Ethan got in front of him and growled. King Edward's normally grey eyes turned red as blood. He was upset. 

"Get out of my way," King Edward said, and that was when I got out of my seat

"Ethan," Sof started to say as she walked over to Ethan.

"There is no way my sister is accepting you, bloodsucker," Ethan said, and then his eyes went to me.

"Reject him now."
