Forbidden Fruit: Mated To My Sister's Best Friend Chapter 61
Sofia's Point of View
"So, Tammie tells me that you have been doing very well in school," Don said. We were all sitting at the dining room table. I was sitting between Ella and Ethan. My brother Jason was sitting on the other side of Ethan, while Nicholas sat next to Jason. My cousin Lacy was sitting on the other side of Ella. Don, Stacie, Grandma Mandy, and Grandpa Thomas were sitting across from us, and Tammie and Eric were sitting on the heads of the table.
"Yeah, I have always done good in school," I replied
"She is at the top of her class," Tammie said with a smile
"You got that from our side. Your father was a very good student as well," Grandpa Thomas said
"Do you play any sports?" Don asked
"No, but I am in choir and dance," I said
"So you like to sing?" Don said
"Yes," I replied
"She has an amazing voice. She is actually the lead in the next chior performance," Ella said
"Really," Stacie asked
"Yeah," I replied
"If you don't mind, we would like to go to your performance," Don asked
"Sure. It is next weekend though. I don't know if you will be here that long," I said
"We plan on staying for a while. If that is still alright with you, King Eric," Don asked
"Of course, it is alright with me, Don, and please call me Eric. Like I already told you, we are family," Eric said
We talked the entire night. I was happy that Don wanted to stay and get to know me. It seemed like everyone wanted to get to know me and be in my life which made me feel so happy. I had never smiled so much in my life.
"Thank you so much for dinner, Tammie. It was delicious," Stacie said
"Of course, Stacie. I am happy you liked it," Tammie replied. It was getting late, and everyone was about to head to their rooms.
"I was hoping you and I could hand out and get to know each other. Like I said earlier. I have always wanted a daughter," Stacie said as she looked at me.
"Sure, I would like that," I replied
"Great. How about we go to lunch tomorrow," Stacie said
"That sounds great," I replied
"Um, do you mind if I tag along? It would be nice for me to get to know my cousin," Lacy asked, and Stacie and I looked at her.
"Sure," I replied, and Lacy smiled
"Great," Lacy said
"Nich and I would also like to get to know you. We have always wanted a sister," Jason said
"Hey," Lacy said offensively
"You know what we mean, Lacy," Nich replied
"I would like to get to know you too. I have always wanted siblings," I replied
"Well, now you have them," Nich said
"And we are warning you that you have two overprotective brothers," Jason said
"You do know I am older than you two, right?" I asked
"That doesn't matter. You are our sister, and we are supposed to protect you," Nich said, causing me to roll my eyes playfully. Honestly, it felt good knowing that I had two brothers who wanted to protect me. I was worried they wouldn't have anything to do with me, and I was happy I was wrong.
"I hope this isn't too much to ask, sweetheart, But your grandma and I were hoping you would show us where your mother lives. I know you two are not getting along, but I think it is time we had a talk with her," Grandpa Thomas said
"I could take them if you don't want to," Ethan said
"No, I will go with you," I replied.
"Are you sure?" Ethan asked
"Yes, I am," I replied. I wanted to be there to hear what my mom had to say.
"I will go as well," Don said, and everyone looked at him. "I think it is time I talked to your mother," Don said
"I am going with you," Stacie said, and Don nodded.
"Okay," Don said
Ethan and I walked to our floor to change. I decided to change out of the dress I was wearing and put on a pair of blue jeans and a blue T-shirt.
"Are you sure you want to go? You don't have to if you don't want to," Ethan said
"I need to do this, Ethan. I want to hear what she has to say. I am sure she is going to be shocked when we get there," I said
"Yeah, Let's hope things don't get too crazy," Ethan said
"I hope everyone can talk calmly," I said, but deep down, I knew there was no way everyone was going to stay calm.
