Ethan's Point of View

I was so pissed at Amy after hearing what she said about Sofia. I couldn't believe she had the guts to tell me that Sof wasn't to be my queen. I wanted to tear her apart when she said that. It made me wonder if Ella and Sof were right. I was going to find out. I needed to talk to my father. Let him know what happened with Amy. I was also going to tell him that I planned on kicking her and her mom out of the Castle. There was no way I was going to let them stay there after what she said about my mate. It was obvious she didn't like Sof and I wasn't okay with that. 

I went into the school to find Sof. I could smell her scent and started to follow it. "Ethan," I heard Ryan say. I was shocked that he was speaking to me. I knew he was upset with me because of what happened with his mom and Jane. I hadn't chosen and new Royal Beta yet because I was hoping he would come around. I still wanted him to be my Royal Beta. 

"Hey, Ryan," I said

"I needed to speak to you about something. My dad and I are planning on leaving in a week, so we need you to get the paperwork in order so that we can move to my uncle's Pack. We told your dad about it, but he said we had to talk to you since you were becoming king," Ryan said. I was sure my dad was doing this so that I could talk to Ryan and hopefully get him to stay. 

"Are you sure you want to leave?" I asked

"Yes, there is no reason for me to stay," Ryan replied

"Look, Ryan. I know you are angry with me, and I understand. I get why you are upset," I started to say, and Ryan laughed

"Oh, you think you understand? You don't understand shit, Ethan. Your mom and sister are still alive. Your dad is still happy with his mate. My dad and I lost everything because of you," Ryan yelled, causing everyone to look our way. I was upset because of the way he was talking to me, but I was keeping control so that I wouldn't hurt him. 

"Ryan, you need to calm down," I said calmly.

"No, you are to blame for everything, Ethan. You think that because you are going to be King that you can do whatever you want to anyone and get away with it. It isn't right. Jane did everything she did because of you. Because you played her. You made her think that you wanted her to be your queen. You made her think that you loved her, and then you broke her heart. You are nothing but a player, and you don't deserve Sofia," Ryan said, and I grabbed onto Ryan's shirt and pushed him against one of the lockers. I had to take deep breaths because I didn't want him to end up in the hospital like he did last time. 

"I know you are angry, Ryan, but you need to calm down. You had no right to say those things to me. I never led Jane on. The only thing I ever did was kiss her. I never was intimate with your sister in any other way. I never told her that I loved her or that she would be Queen. Jane had asked me if I loved her before and I was truthful to her. I told her that I was not in love with her, but I did care for her as a friend. I always told her that my mate would be Queen. We had an agreement that if we weren't mates, we would end our relationship, and she agreed. She always knew that I planned on being with my fated mate, Ryan, and she told me she wanted to be with hers. I know I shouldn't have got with your sister but I never led her on. She knew from the beginning that I planned on being with my fated mate," I said, and then I let him go

"You need to quit blaming me for what Jane and your mom did, Ryan. They made their own choices and that was why they were punished," I said

Ryan stared at me for a moment before speaking. "I want you to sign the documents," Ryan said

"I don't want you to leave but if you really want to go I understand. I will let you leave," I said and then Ryan walked out of the school. Everyone was still watching but I ignored them and went looking for Sofia. I was shocked when I couldn't scent her anymore, and I started to worry. I went to our class and saw Ella sitting at the table. 

"Where is Sof?" I asked

"She said she needed some time alone after everything you said to her earlier," Ella said as she glared at me. I just ran out of the class and started looking for her. 

"What's wrong?" Ella asked

"I can't scent, Sof," I said, and then a realization hit me. If I couldn't scent her, someone was masking her scent—a witch. I immediately ran out of the school and got in my car. I needed to get home. Ella followed after me and got into the car as well.

"What's wrong?" Ella asked

"I think a witch took Sof," I said and started driving toward the castle.
