Ella's Point of View

"Everything is set to go," Ethan said once Sof and I walked outside. I was relieved; I wanted to leave the Vampire Kingdom and away from King Damon. 

"Great. Let's get out of here," I said, and I hopped in the backseat of Ethan

 and Sof's car. Tina sat next to me while Ethan got in the driver's seat, and Sof sat in the passenger's. I looked out of the window to see King Edward staring right at me. The windows were tinted, but I knew he could see me. 

"Let's get out of here," Ethan said as he started the car and started to drive away. I couldn't stop the pain in my chest that came when King Edward didn't try to stop me from leaving. 

"Are you okay?" Sof asked 

"I will be," I replied. I looked out of the window and watched everything that went by. We drove for about four hours and decided to stop at a hotel. It was dark, and everyone was tired. It had certainly been a very long day.

"Are you okay, Sweetie," my mom asked as soon as she got out of the car with my dad. 

"I am fine, mom. Don't worry," I replied. We walked into the hotel and check in. I asked for my on room. I wanted to be alone after everything that happened. 

"Are you sure you want to be alone?" My mom asked

"Yes, I am tired," I replied

"Okay, I love you, Sweetie," My mom said and she hugged me and kissed my cheek. 

"I love you too," I replied. My dad walked over to me and hugged me as well. I went into my room and decided to take a shower.  Once I was finished taking a shower, I found a long black t-shirt and some shorts to put on. I got dressed, brushed my teeth, and combed my hair out. 

There was a knock on the door and I went to open it. Sof was standing on the other in with a concerned expression on her face. I knew she was worried about me, 

"Hey, Ella. Can I come in and talk to you?" Sof asked 

"Sure," I said, moving out of the way so that she could walk inside. I closed the door, and we sat next to each other on the king-size hotel bed. How are you feeling? Wait. I shouldn't have asked that.I know you must be feeling  terrible..." Sof started to say, but I cut her off. 

"I know you are worried about me, Sof, but I am okay. Well, I am not okay. I am... I honestly don't know what I am. I have so many emotions going through my body, and it's hard to explain. I am upset, sad, and confused. Why would Selene make King Edward my mate? It made no sense to me. I wonder if I did something terrible in my past life, and I am being punished for whatever it was in this life," I said. I could feel tears escaping my eyes. Sof didn't say anything. She just waited quietly for me to continue.

"I am also upset at King Edward. He is my mate, but he wants me dead. He wants all of us dead," I said

"I am sure he doesn't want you dead," Sof replied

"Yes, he does. He tricked us into coming to the vampire kingdom so that he could kill us all. He made it seem like he wanted peace when he really wanted to start a war on us. He hates me, and it hurts. I hate that it hurts me because it shouldn't. I shouldn't have any feelings for him," I said

"So you do have feelings for him?" Sof said

"It doesn't matter. It isn't like it would matter. King Edward and I can never be together. I could never be with someone who hates me so much and wants me dead. He didn't even come after me when we left. He just watched us leave," I said

"I think you are wrong, Ella. Yes, King Edward was wrong for wanting to start a war on us but he didn't. Once he saw you, he told his men to stand down. Don't forget that," Sof said. I thought about what she said and knew she was right. He did stop the fight. 

"He only did it because he felt the bond. That doesn't mean he has any feelings for me. He just felt the bond and couldn't let me get hurt because of it. If he cared, he would have talked to me, apologized or something," I said

"he tried to talk to you, but you wouldn't let him," Sof replied, and I was starting to get annoyed.

"Are you on his side?" I asked

"No. I am always on your side. That is why I am telling you this. I don't believe King Damon hates you. If he did, he would have let those vampires kill you. I am not going to tell you what to do, but I believe you need time to think. I am going to go back to my room and rest. It has been a long day," Sof said

"A very long day," I replied

"Yeah," Sof said, and she hugged me before standing up and heading to the door to leave. "Good night, Ella," Sof said, and as soon as she said that, I felt nothing but excruciating pain go through my body, which caused me to scream in pain. 

"Ella, what happened?" Sof asked as she hurriedly walked over to me

"It hurts so bad. It burns all over my body," I said. I felt like I was on fire. 

"What's wrong," Sof said, and realization came to me. The only reason I would be in so much pain is if my mate was in bed with someone else. Tears came to my eyes as I thought knowing that King Edward had to have been fucking another woman.
