Ethan's Point of View

"Have you found anything?" I asked the trackers. We had been searching for Jane and Vera for hours now, and I was starting to get frustrated. 

"We haven't found anything to tell us where they are. I can't pick up Jane's scent, and I am sure it is because the witch is blocking her scent," one of the trackers said

"We are not going to find them like this," My dad said

"We should get Tabatha to help us. She might be able to sense something we can't," I said, knowing I should have thought about that earlier

"That sounds like a good idea, son. We will bring her with us tomorrow," My dad said, and we headed back to the castle. When we arrived, I thanked everyone for helping me and told everyone what time we would be meeting the next morning. After that, I went into the castle. When I walked inside, I saw my mom and Stacie walking my way. 

"Hi, Mom. Hi, Stacie," I said

"Hello," Stacie said

"Hey, Son. How did the search go today?" My mom asked

"Not good. We didn't find them. I think Vera is hiding their scent, making it hard for us to find them, so I am going to have Tabatha come with us tomorrow morning," I said

"That sounds like a good idea. I am sure you will find them soon, hopefully before Sof's party on Sunday," My mom said

"So did I. Hopefully, we find them tomorrow," I said. 

"What if you don't find them? Are you still going to have the party?" Stacie asked

"Yes, I am not going to cancel Sof's party. It is her special day, and I am not going to let Jane or Vera ruin that for her. We will have security just in case they decide to show up," I said

"That sounds like a good idea," My mom said

"I am going to go to my room. Sof texted and let me know she was going to a movie with Ella after their lunch. When she gets home don't tell her I am here. I want to surprise her," I said.

"Okay, son. See you later," my mom said, and they went outside to meet my dad and Don.

I walked to Sof and my room and sat on the couch. I was upset that I didn't find Vera and Jane. We asked Pack Alphas if they had seen them, and the Witches Council had asked some of the other Covens if they had heard anything, and everyone said they hadn't. I had a feeling someone was helping them, but I didn't know who that someone was. Most likely, it was one of Vera's Witch friends.

I sat on the couch and sighed in frustration. I really wanted to meet Sof and Ella at the movies, but I knew they wanted to spend time together, just the two of them. They hadn't been able to do that since Lacy came. She had been inviting herself wherever they went, and I could tell Ella didn't like that. She didn't trust her and after everything she said about me I didn't trust her either. The only reason I didn't kick her out of the Pack was because Sof had asked me not to, saying she didn't think Lacy meant to be rude and that she was only trying to look out for her. I disagreed and was sure Lacy was up to something. I just didn't know what. 

"Son," I heard my dad through the mind-link

"Yes, Dad," I replied

"Don and I were talking about you and Sof taking over the Pack. I told him about Ryan and how he is Jane's brother and was supposed to be your Beta. I told him that you two are not getting along right now because of the situation with his family. Don said that it might be a good idea for Jason to become your Beta," My dad said

"That sounds like a good idea, Dad, but I don't know who I want as my Beta yet," I replied. I didn't know what I was going to do about a Beta. I had always thought Ryan was going to become my Beta just like Kane became my dad's beta, but now everything was so messed up. Ryan was upset with me because of what Jane did. He blamed me for everything, and we hadn't talked. I honestly didn't know if I trusted him to be my Beta anymore. 

I was also not sure if Jason would want to become Beta. From what Sof had told me, he never really wanted to be Alpha. I decided that it would be a good idea to speak to Ryan. 

"Ryan," I mind linked

"Yes," Ryan replied through the mind link

"We need to talk. Meet me on my floor," I linked back, and I heard Ryan sigh through the link before replying.

"Okay, I will be there in a few minutes," Ryan said, and then we cut the link. 

Suddenly, the doorbell rang, and I got off the couch to get it. I was shocked to see Lacy standing on the other side.

"Sof isn't here," I said, and I was about to shut the door, but she spoke

"Wait. I didn't come to see her," Lacy replied

"Then why the hell are you here?" I asked. I was becoming irritated.

"I overheard something from one of the Pack Members about where Jane may be hiding," Lacy said, gaining my interest. I moved out of the way, and Lacy walked inside the room. 

"What did you hear, and who did you hear it from?" I asked, and I was shocked by what she would do next. She walked over to me and quickly connected her lips to mine. I quickly pushed her away from me, causing her to fall to the ground. 

"What the fuck are you doing, Lacy?" I growled, and Lacy got off the floor and started walking over to me. "Don't come any closer to me, or I will break your neck," I growled, causing Lacy to freeze in the spot where she was standing. "Why would you do that?" I asked again, and then I mind-linked Don and two guards to come to my room. 

"Because I love you. I always have. You were supposed to be mine. Not Sofia's," Lacy said

"I am not yours and never will be yours," I said. There was a knock on the door, and I told whoever was knocking to come in. The two guards walked into the room.

"Take her to her room and stay with her. Don't leave her alone," I said

"Yes, Alpha," The guards said, and one of them grabbed her arm and took her out of my room. 

"No, I love you, Ethan. You are supposed to be mine," Lacy screamed as they were dragging her away. 

"What is going on?" Don asked as he walked into the room. Before I could answer, Ella and Ryan walked into the room. I could tell Ella was pissed off by her facial expression.

"What's wrong?" I asked and I was shocked at what Ella said.
