Sofia's Point of View

After my discussion with Mr. King and Ethan basically forbidding me from working with him, I was in a terrible mood. I felt like Ethan didn't trust me, and it made me sad and upset. I felt Ethan should trust me and know I only wanted him. 

Lacy talked the entire way back to the castle. She told us how great her day at school was. Everyone else stayed silent. Jason asked me a few times if anything was wrong, and I told him I was alright. I could tell Jason, Nick, and Ella something was bothering me. They kept looking at me with worried looks on their faces. 

"Your brothers and I have to meet with my dad about something important. I will walk you to our floor," Ethan said once we arrived at the castle.

"That's okay. Ella and I will walk together. We were planning on doing our homework together," I replied.

"Are you sure?" Ethan asked, and I nodded

"Yeah," I replied

"Okay," Ethan said, wrapping his arms around me and hugging me tightly. "I will see you once we are finished.

"Okay," I said, and Ethan, Jason, and Nick walked away. 

"Do you mind if I hang out with the two of you?" Lacy asked

"Of course not," I replied with a smile, and Lacy smiled back at me. Ella, Lacy, and I walked to Ethan and my floor. 

"I am going to get some snacks. I am hungry," Ella said, and she walked into the kitchen. Lacy and I walked into the family room and sat on the couch. 

"So, what do you want to work on first," Lacy asked 

"Um, we aren't really going to work on homework right now. I said that because I didn't want Ethan walking me to our floor," I said

"Why not?" Lacy asked 

"Because she is upset with him about something," Ella said as she walked into the family room with two bowls in her hand. One was filled with chips, and the other had different fruits in it. Then, she walked back into the kitchen.

"Are you really mad at him?" Lacy asked

"Yeah, a little bit," I replied

"Why?" Lacy asked, and Ella walked back in with a bowl full of chocolate chip cookies and popcorn. She sat next to me and waited for me to answer. 

"Mr. King asked me to stay after class today in History, and Ethan stayed as well. Mr. King asked me if I wanted to help him teach an afterschool class since my grades were so good. You know it would help with me getting scholarships for school. Ethan got upset, and I told him I wouldn't be working after school with him. I feel like that should have been my decision," I said

"I get why you are upset, but I also understand Ethan's side. Everyone in class saw how King Lestat was looking at you, and he kept calling on you. It's obvious he likes you," Ella said

"That is what Ethan said as well. I thought he was just calling on me because he knows I am a good student," I said, and Ella laughed.

"Trust me, that is not the reason. King Lestat likes you, and he knows you are Ethan's mate. He shouldn't have been looking at you and talking to you like he was, Sof. King Lestat is the vampire king, and he knows how a werewolf is with their mates. It is the way a Vampire would be with their beloved," Ella said

"I guess I understand, but I feel like Ethan should trust me. It's like he thinks I would cheat on him or something when Ethan is the only guy I have ever wanted. I don't like thinking he doesn't trust me," I said truthfully.

"I agree with you, Sof. Your mate should trust you to be around other men," Lacy said

"He does trust you, Sof. It's King Lestat he doesn't trust. King Lestat is the Vampire King, and Werewolves and Vampires are just starting to get along, or at least try to get along. Ethan doesn't trust that King Lestat wouldn't try anything with you. You are not the one he doesn't trust, Sof," Ella said, and I stayed silent.

"Think about it. If the tables were turned and some female was acting the way King Lestat was acting with you today, how would you feel about it if she wanted to work with him alone?" Ella asked, and I thought about what she was saying. 

"I wouldn't like it," I said

"Exactly. Ethan loves you. He just wants to protect you," Ella said

"I know you are right, Ella. Thanks for talking to me," I said

"Anytime. Now let's watch a movie. We can do the homework later. Oh, I forgot drinks. I will be right back," Ella said, and she got up and walked to the kitchen

"I still think Ethan should trust you. I mean, he is your mate, Sof," Lacy whispered once Ella was out of sight
