Forbidden Fruit: Mated To My Sister's Best Friend Chapter 188
Sof's Point of View
"Hey, what's going on?" I asked.
"I don't know, Sof. I was just about to ask Ava. She was the one who was standing by the door when I got here. It looked like she was about to break in or something," Ella said. Ava and Ella hadn't been getting along since Ava arrived. Ella had told me before that she thought Ava was very weird and that something was off about her. I told Ella she was overthinking it and that Ava was just different because of the way she was raised. I mean, she was treated like a slave all throughout her childhood. I felt bad for her and wanted her to feel welcome
"I wasn't trying to break in. I just wanted to see if Sof was back yet or not. I was about to knock on the door, but then you came and started accusing me of stuff of didn't do," Ava said
"I am only saying what I saw," Ella said
"Okay, how about you both calm down," Ethan said
"I am sorry. I just don't like when people accuse me of stuff I didn't do. I just wanted to see if you were back and how the doctor's appointment went. Then, all of a sudden, Ella started yelling at me and accusing me of things I didn't do," Ava said
"That is not true. I never screamed at her," Ella said
"What's all the screaming about?" I looked up to see my mom. I had called and asked her to meet me at my room so we could talk about potions that could help us.
"It's nothing," I said, and I could tell by my mom's facial expression she didn''t believe me. We all headed inside and to the family room.
"I was thinking it would be a good idea to use potions since you are so far along in your pregnancy so I already have been writing some potions down," My mom said as she handed me a notebook. I opened it and saw there was a lot of different potions.
"This is great. Thanks mom," I said
"You asked her to help you make potions? Why didn't you ask me?" Ava asked. I could tell she was upset by her facial expression and that made me feel bad.
"I didn't mean to upset you, Ava. I just thought mom could help me since she has been making potions for along time," I replied
"I have been making potions as well. I can help too," Ava said
"Why are you always such a drama queen," Ella whispered.
"I am not a drama queen. I just want to help my sister," Ava replied
"Okay, stop arguing, please. I appreciate your help, Ava," I said, and Ava smiled
"We should start making some potions so we have enough ready when the time comes," My mom said, and then she looked at Ava. "Ava, if you would like, you can help me come up with some more potions for Sof to use," My mom said.
"Um, sure," Ava said, even though I could tell she didn't really want to work with her by the sound of her voice.
"I have to meet up with your dad. I will be back later," Ethan said
"Okay," I replied. Ethan kissed me before he left. My mom and Ava left a while later to start working on the potions, leaving Ella and me together.
"So what's really up with you and Ava? Why don't you like her?" I asked
"I am telling you, Sof. Something is off with her. She did look like she was trying to sneak into your room. I feel like she is up to something," Ella said
"I am sure you are overthinking it, Ella. I think she just went through a lot and that is why she acts the way she does," I replied
"No, that is not it. I am telling you what I saw. There is something that is not right with her. She is only nice to you. Whenever you are away, she is rude. You should see the way she is with your mom when you are not around," Ella said
"I think she is just upset with my mom for giving her away as a baby. That is understandable," I said
"Okay, well, what about how she is with your brothers and Don. She doesn't want anything to do with any of them. They have done nothing wrong," Ella said
"I don't know. Maybe she is shy and only feels comfortable around me because I am her twin. I mean, you and Ethan have a strong bond," I said
"Yeah, but this is different, Sof. I am telling you something isn't right with her. Just be careful, okay?" Ella said. I could tell she was really worried, and that was starting to make me worry a little bit. Ella was a good judge of character. When she felt this way, she was normally right. I only hoped this time she was wrong.
"Okay."
