Sofia's Point of View

"I am shocked you are letting me go out with Jason and Nick alone," I said and Ethan sighed. 

"I am not going to lie. It is hard for me to let you go without me, but they are your brothers, and you deserve to spend time with them. I know they will keep you safe," Ethan said. I had just finished getting ready, and we were sitting in the family room.  

The doorbell went off, and Ethan and I got up to get it. Ethan opened the door and Jason and Nick were standing there. 

"Hey, you ready to go?" Jason asked

"Yeah," I replied and I turned to Ethan. Ethan wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into a hug. I knew he was breathing in my scent. 

"I will see you later," I said and he kissed my lips softly before pulling away from me. 

"Have a great time, love," Ethan said, and then he looked at Jason and Nick. 

Keep her safe," Ethan said 

"You know we will," Jason replied and Ethan nodded. Ethan pulled me to him again and hugged me tightly. "I will miss you," Ethan said and he kissed the top of my head. 

"I will miss you, too," I replied, and Jason, Nick, and I left. We ended up taking one of the Escalade Limousines to the restaurant. 

"I am happy you decided to go out to eat with us," Nick said as we were on our way to the restaurant. 

"So am I. I have always wanted siblings," I replied

"We have always wanted a sister," Nick said

Didn't you have Lacy?" I asked

"Yeah. She has been living with us since forever. She is like a sister to us," Nick said

What about her parents?" I asked

"Her dad is our dad's brother. He slept with Lacy's mother. They weren't mates. When Uncle Scott found his mate, he left her mom. His mate was upset he had a baby with someone else, and she didn't want anything to do with her. I guess her mom didn't want her either. They ended up giving her to our parents, and they have treated her like their daughter," Nick said

"That's sad. I feel bad for her. We should have let her come with us to dinner. I don't want her to feel left out," I said. I was feeling guilty. First, Stacie told her that she wanted to spend time with me alone, and now my brothers did the same thing. 

"We talked to her, and she understands that we wanted to spend some time alone with you so we could get to know each other. We told her that she would come next time," Nick said 

"Okay, I just hope she doesn't feel like I am keeping you away from her or something," I said

"She doesn't think that, Sof," Jason said, but I wasn't so sure about that. 

We ended up going to one of the steakhouses downtown. It was one I had never been to before. The waitress took us to our table. We decided to sit in a booth. I sat with Nick while Jason sat across from us. The waitress took our drink order and then she gave us a moment to look at the menu. 

"This place is nice. I have never been here before," I said

"Really," Nick asked

"Yeah. I have only been to two of the restaurants down here with Ethan. My mom didn't have the money to take me to places like this," I said

"We hate that you didn't have the best life growing up. Dad hates it, too. He blames himself for not being there for you when you were growing up," Jason said

"I can tell he blames himself, but It wasn't his fault. He didn't even know about me," I said

The waitress came back with our drinks and took our orders. Once she was gone, we started talking about what we liked to do. I learned that Jason liked football and he was the quarterback at his school. Nick likes to play a lot of different sports. 

Jason and Nick had different personalities. I could tell that Jason was the more serious and responsible one, while Nick was the playful one who liked to have fun. I was sure it was because Jason was the oldest and was the one they thought was supposed to be the Alpha of the Pack. 

"So, has Dad told you anything about taking over the Pack?" Jason asked

"No, but Ethan told me that since I am the oldest, I am supposed to take over the Pack," I replied

"How do you feel about that?" Jason asked

"I don't know. I just learned about werewolves and now I am supposed to take over a Pack. Not only that but I am supposed to be the future werewolf queen. It's a lot. How do you feel about it? I mean, you thought you were supposed to become the Alpha of your Pack. Aren't you upset?" I asked

"You think I am upset?" Jason and I shrugged our shoulders. 

"You have been training your entire life to become Alpha of your pack, and now you find out that I am supposed to take over," I replied

"Well, I am not upset at you," Jason said

"You aren't?" I asked

"No. To be honest, I am relieved. I never wanted to become Alpha. I just did it because I thought it was my destiny. You have no idea how relieved I was when I found out that I wasn't supposed to take over. It was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. It was like deep down, I knew I wasn't supposed to take over Dad's pack," Jason said

"Really, you aren't just saying that so I don't feel guilty?" I asked

"No, I am being honest," Jason said

"He really is. He always complained to me about all the responsibility he had. I always felt bad for him," Nick said

"Well, I am happy you are happy," I said with a smile, and then I started to frown. "But, I don't know how I am going to take over a pack and become queen over all of the werewolves. It is a lot," I said

"You can do it, sis. I am here with you. I will help you learn what you need to know," Jason said

"Thanks," I replied with a smile

"Always. Now, tell us about Ethan, Jason asked

"What about Ethan?" I asked

"Has he been treating you right? If not, we will take care of him. Future King or not," Nick said

I guess I was going to learn about how protected Nick and Jason really were.
