Sofia's Point of View

The school day went by slowly. I could tell Ethan was exhausted, but every time I asked if he was okay, he would just smile at me and tell me he was fine. In history class, Mr. King kept calling on me to answer questions or ask what my opinion was on a subject. I noticed that he was staring at me most of the class period. It made me realize that Ethan, Jason, and Nick were right. He did have a thing for me. Most likely a crush. 

Ethan would glare at him or growl sometimes when Mr. King would look at me. I knew he wanted to rip his head off. I moved closer to Ethan and held his hand not wanting him to get into a fight. Ethan closed his eyes and tried to calm down but I knew he was still pissed. I was definitely going to stay away from Mr. King. I knew he was either trying to get on Ethan's bad side or he wanted to be with me. Whatever the reason for his actions I wasn't going to give him any reason to think I felt something for him.

Once school was over, we made our way back to the castle. 

"How about we go to our room, eat something, and then take a nap," I said once we got home. 

"That sounds like a good idea. The witches council won't be here for a few hours," Ethan said 

"Good," I smile. We went to our room, and I made some hamburgers and fries for us. We ate, and then we headed to our bedroom to sleep. Ethan and I got into the bed, and I lay my head on his chest. He wrapped his arms around me and inhaled my scent. It didn't take long for him to fall asleep. 

I watched him sleep for a while. He looked so peaceful when he was asleep. He had been stressed out since Jane had escaped and I knew it was because he was worried. I was happy he was able to relax for a while. I kissed him on his forehead and then laid my head back on his chest. It didn't take long before I had fallen asleep as well.

King Lestat(Earlier at school)

"Ms. Jones, can I speak to you for a moment, please?" I asked as the class had come to an end. Sofia and that werewolf prince walked over to where I was standing by my desk. I wanted to tell the boy to leave but I knew he wouldn't. He was sticking to his lie about Sofia being his mate. There was no way she was his mate. I knew she would be my beloved. I just had to wait until her eighteenth birthday when she could feel our bond. 

Unlike werewolves, all vampires had to wait until both were eighteen to find out if they were their beloved. With werewolves, only one of them had to be eighteen, and as long as the other was sixteen or older, they could feel the bond. It wasn't fare. I had waited hundreds of years to find my beloved and now this boy was trying to claim her as his. I knew he only wanted her for the power. I also wanted her for the power, but Sofia was a lovely person, and I knew it would be easy for me to love her. 

"Yes, Mr. King Sofia asked

"I know you don't want to work with me in the evening, but I was hoping you would work with me on your free period. I have a group of students who need extra help, and I am sure you would be able to help them understand the work. It would also look good to the colleges," I said.

"Um, I don't think I will be able to do that, Mr. King," Sofia said

"Just think about it and get back to me," I said

"Okay," Sofia said and she and the werwolf prince walked away. I didn't miss the way he glared at me before putting his hands over her shoulder. 

"Fuck," I said and pushed the papers off of my desk out of anger.

"Well, you look upset," I turned around to see one of the female students closing the door and walking over to me. 

"I am busy," I said

"I can see that. I know why you are upset. You want Sofia," The girl said

"You need to leave, now," I said. I knew my eyes were turning red from anger

"I can help you get her," The girl said and I looked at her. 

"Why would you help me?" I asked

"Because King Ethan should be mine. If we work together we can both get what we want," she said which got my attention.

"I am listening."
