Forbidden Fruit: Mated To My Sister's Best Friend Chapter 156
Sofia's Point of View
"I can tell you are nervous, but everything is going to be okay. Everyone is going to be happy that you are pregnant," Ethan said. We had just gotten out of the shower and were waiting for our family to arrive. We were going to have dinner in private on Ethan's and my floor. I could feel through our bond that Ethan was worried about stressing too much.
"I am sorry. I'm not trying to worry you. I just can't help but worry," I said
"You have nothing to be worried about, My Love. Come here," Ethan said. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled my body close to his. I inhaled his scent, which calmed my nerves.
"No matter what. I have your back, My Love. Don't forget that. All we need is each other," Ethan said, and I looked at him with a smile.
I love you," I said before I connected our lips in a soft kiss.
"Not as much as I love you," Ethan replied
I went down to our kitchen and started making dinner. I decided to make lasagna for dinner.
"You need help with anything?" Ethan asked. He was sitting on a stool.
"No, I am almost done," I said as I took the garlic bread out of the oven.
"I will set the table," Ethan said. He walked over to me and kissed my cheek before getting the plates out of the cabinets and heading into the dining room. About ten minutes later someone rang the doorbell.
"I'll get it," Ethan said
"Okay," I replied as I finished making a salad. i headed into the dining room and placed it on the table.
"Hey, Sof," Ella said as she walked over to me and hugged me
"Hey," I replied as I hugged her back.
"Are you nervous," Ella asked through the mind link
"Yeah," I replied
"You don't have to be," Ella said and then Tammie, Eric, my dad, Stacy Nick and Jason walked into the room.
"Hey" I said
"Hi, sweetie," Stacy said as she hugged me
"Hey, sis," Nick said and he hugged me after Stacy. Then, Jason hugged me after saying hi. My dad was the last one to come over to me and hug me.
"Hey, Princess. Thanks for inviting us to dinner. The food looks great," my dad said
"Yeah, it really does," Stacy said at the same time Grandpa Damon walked into the room.
"Hello, everyone," Grandpa Damon said
"Hello," we all said. At first, everyone was a little jumpy around him. He was a vampire, and werewolves and vampires didn't really get along for such a long time, but after a while, they started to relax around him. Grandpa Damon and my dad had a conversation, and my dad wanted to make sure that Grandpa Damon wasn't up to something and wouldn't hurt me. Grandpa Damon reassured him that he only wanted to be in my life. He felt bad that he wasn't in my mom's life growing up, and he wanted to make up for it.
He has been helping me learn how to keep control of my vampire. We have gone on walks together, and he asks me questions to get to know me better. He hasn't told me much about him and I don't ask much because he seems to not want to talk about his past. One time I asked him about his parents and he tensed before telling me that they had died a long time ago.
" Come and have a seat, everyone. I made lasagna and garlic bread. Wait? You aren't allergic to garlic, are you?" I asked as I looked at Grandpa Damon. He looked at me with a blank expression.
"You are, aren't you? I am so sorry. I wasn't thinking," I said, and Grandpa Damon started to laugh
"Don't worry, Sweetheart. I am not allergic to garlic. That is a myth. I should have told you as soon as you asked, but you caught me off guard with that question. Sometimes, I forget you weren't raised in the supernatural world. Vampires can eat pretty much anything. Plus, if I wouldn't have been able to have it then you most likely wouldn't have either. You are part vampire as well," Grandpa Damon said
"Oh, yeah, I guess you are right," I said. We made small talk and waited for everyone else to arrive. Grandpa Thomas and Grandma Mandy walked in about five minutes later. I wondered if my mom was going to come. When I called her, she seemed thrilled to come have dinner with us. She was living in the Royal Kingdom in her own home. It was crazy that I hadn't spoken to her for months but I needed time to think about whether I wanted a relationship with her after everything she had done to me.
I was shocked that she really did give me space to make up my mind.
"Maybe we should start eating, Sweetie," Stacy said softly. It hurt thinking that my mom wasn't going to show up. Then, I heard the doorbell go off, and I got out of my seat to open the door. My mom was standing on the other side with a chocolate cake in her hand.
"Hello," My mom said
"Hi, mom. Come in," I said, and my mom walked into the house. I looked at the cake in her hand.
"I brought a cake," My mom said
"I see that. Um, did you make that?" I asked. My mom wasn't the best cook. She couldn't cook at all.
"Oh, no. I got it from Walmart before coming here," My mom said
"Okay, let's go to the dining room. That is where everyone is," I said, and we made our way to the dining room.
