The Dawn of the New World Chapter 1442
The humans burst out in a panic, their first instinct to scream wildly upon coming into contact with the searing hot desert air.
The lizardmen stepped back to enjoy the show, snickering and laughing in low voices while watching the confused humans fumble over one another trying to make sense of the situation.
The frog demihuman that lorded over them also seemed amused albeit to a lesser degree, especially since its attention was swiftly pulled elsewhere. It sat up to focus its protruding eyes on a scene further down the dunes where one of the groups of lizardmen pulled down a single sack from the largest plant in the vicinity.
Its eyes narrowed in curiosity but it did not bother to stop or even warn them, simply choosing to watch on silently.
The group of five dragged the sack over and threw it with the rest. One of them knelt to cut it open but before the dagger could even come close a hand shot out of the sack and grabbed its hand.
Startled, the lizardman tried to pull back but its hand would not budge. It yelled over its shoulder for help, prompting the other four to run over. Two of them pulled the first lizardman back while the other two tried to drag the sack away but then the second hand shot out and grabbed another lizardman by the neck.
By now the commotion had gotten big enough to get the attention of the nearby groups and they rushed over to help without missing a beat. Some of them kicked and punched the sack while the others tried to use the back of the hooked spears to beat it to a pulp but...it was all in vain.
The sack ruptured and the human inside stood up without giving them a chance to coordinate. One of the lizardmen took out a dagger and sneaked through the back in the chaos to land a hit but...he was kicked away with such force that it created a sonic boom.
*BOOM*
The frog demihuman jumped to his feet with wide eyes. The golems mimicked his movements and got ready to attack but with a wave of his hand they immediately stood down as well.
As he walked over one lizardman after another was sent flying in a different direction. Granted they outnumbered him 500 to 1 so he was surrounded again in no time while they hooked his limbs and neck trying to rip him apart with sheer force.
The frog demihuman's eyes glittered as he watched the human struggle. He could see the void bend around the naked man as if he was trying to use some powerful ability but due to a lack of spiritual energy, it could not come to pass.
"Buk la..." he muttered in a low voice that no one heard.
"BUK LA!" he roared in a deep voice overflowing with copious amounts of energy, enough to create a shockwave that discombobulated everyone within 10 meters of him.
Most of the lizardmen scurried back like cockroaches, more scared of their master than the strange human that could not be pushed back. Only the two that were still getting choked out by him remained there.
When the frog demihuman came within five meters of him the human suddenly turned in his direction. His dull green eyes stared right into his own.
The frog demihuman stopped in his tracks and slowly reached into one of his chest pockets to pull out a wriggling worm.
"Bul rah. Bul rah," he repeated pointing at the human's head.
The worm crawled over faster than one would expect and climbed up the human's leg.
He released one of the lizardmen to free his hand to squash the worm but the frog demihuman shouted, "Bul rah, taka lum ba!" while raising his hands into the air as a sign of peace.
The human paused, allowing the worm to reach his ear at which point it squirted out a green goo that seeped into his ear canal before falling off, dead.
He twitched a couple of times but otherwise remained indifferent. The frog demihuman chuckled and slowly lowered his hands, "How is that? Can you understand me now?"
His pupils contracted with recognition but still he remained silent.
"You don't have to speak if you do not want to, but please, let him go. The new batch will not be coming for a while and I would rather not waste any of them needlessly," he said earnestly.
The human glanced at the lizardman who was taking his last breaths and loosened his grip, allowing him to fall onto the ground.
"Ah, very good. It appears you are not just a brute despite your physique," the frog demihuman merrily clapped twice and snapped his fingers.
A couple of lizardmen came forward to drag the unconscious ones away.
The frog demihuman flashed a smile and started walking back, "Right then, I shan't hold you here any longer. You are free to go, no need to repay me for freeing you."
