With a quick bow, the guard jumped into the shadows and disappeared without a trace.

But having overheard her orders Teng Ju couldn't help but ask for more details, in his own unfriendly manner.

"The Timoratus? If I didn't know any better I would think you were afraid. Who are they?"

"Hmm?" Princess Yi had almost forgotten he was still standing nearby when she heard his voice, "Oh, you don't know? I would have assumed the 'Teng' clan elders would have informed you before you departed on your journey, Lord Teng Ju," she flashed an innocent smile but he was not having it.

He was obviously incensed by her phrasing of the matter but Teng Ju's cold demeanor still saw no change.

"I did not depart from the clan, I was banished after killing that old bastard. I have nothing to do with them, nor did I ever."

Princess Yi was not surprised in the least since she already knew all that, "Oh right, I forgot that happened. Why did you kill the Clan Lord anyway? Because of your siblings? I heard you killed them right before going after him, is that true?"

He met her gaze without any hesitation, "What if it is? Will you turn me in?"

His eyes narrowed to slits just as the greatsword began to twitch again. The two remaining guards standing behind her suddenly became alert but she just laughed without a care in the world.

"Hahaha, of course not! Why would I? The Teng clan always kept to itself even within the sanctum, they have no relations with anyone- let alone us. I was only curious Lord Teng Ju, you needn't be so cautious."

"Hmph," Teng Ju turned his back towards her, "Don't call me that. I discarded that name when I left that sorry place."

"Oh?" Princess Yi was genuinely curious for the first time, "Did you select a new name? What is it?"

"Rain, I am called Rain now."

"Rain? A strange choice but I shan't judge," she shrugged before continuing, "As for the Timoratus, I'm sure you will cross paths with them sooner or later so there is no reason to hide it. Everything I know about them comes from my mother so, you know, take it with a grain of salt."

"But apparently, the Timoratus is a super religious sect within the inner sanctum. They are usually quite secretive and keep to themselves but in the last few years, there have been several 'incidents' that piqued mother's interest which is why she warned me about them. Regardless, they are bad news for most of us since they're quite single-minded individuals with some extreme beliefs."

But even after hearing all that Rain only had one question, "Are they strong?"

Princess Yi didn't have to think about that one since the answer was obvious, "Of course. But you should think twice before picking a fight with them. They consider themselves the devoted servants of the Nine and as such, any action against them is an act of blasphemy against the Nine, and the Sanctum as a whole."

But unexpectedly Rain scoffed at the insinuation, "Students of the Nine? They dare speak for the Nine?! What a joke! I will test their beliefs against the metal of my blade."

He turned around and walked off in the direction they had come from. His voice echoed in the surroundings a moment later, "Inform me when you find this Timoratus!"

She rolled her eyes at his tone, "Looks like the 'young master' has become quite arrogant after leaving the safety of his ancestral home. Tsk, how dare a half-blooded mutt order me around?! If mother didn't ask me to keep an eye on you we would never even talk, filthy half-breed," she spat at the ground and turned around to leave as well.

Gesturing to the remaining two guards, "Stay here until this place clears up, and if someone comes by call me at once."

"Yes, princess!"

"Tsk, must I do everything myself," grumbling to herself she also went her own way as the night became colder and harsher.

With Nae Shin over his shoulder, Hao Xuan ran until he couldn't sense anyone nearby and then ran a little more until he reached the far end of the Beast Market.

This was the extreme left side of the city and peering over the shoulder-length walls he could see the dunes flashing by below. But this also meant that there was a lot more cold wind and sand moving past, limiting the number of people who could frequent the area.

He walked for a few minutes until he came across a small broken-down house that would give enough cover from the elements for the next few hours.

'This should be good enough,' he thought but upon venturing inside he came face to face with a person sitting in the corner, trying to start a fire.

Seeing someone walk in out of nowhere, this person immediately jumped to the worst conclusion and covered his face defensively, "Please, not the face! I will have your money soon I swear!"
