The Dawn of the New World Chapter 1458
Hao Xuan mulled over the choices for quite a long time before going with the most unlikely one.
"Bless me, O' Silent Father!"
The favour fell to 107,221 only. In just a few hours he had spent nearly 90,000 favour after coming to the past, and he still wasn't done.
His sparkling eyes ran up and down the new list of blessings with their considerably lower costs across the board.
"Well I'll be damned...it really was like that!" his mouth fell open upon seeing the results of the gamble.
Hao Xuan wanted to jump up and down in merriment but his attention was pulled towards the figure that was standing in front of him.
'Who-' he quickly cut off his connection to get a better look at the person.
It appeared to be a boy in his late teens from the looks of it but Hao Xuan couldn't be sure since his back was turned towards him.
He was looking around the room curiously.
"Kid, how did you get in here?" Hao Xuan questioned before realizing that the door didn't even have a lock.
"Oh- was this your room? That lady- I mean Ms. Rukia told me this was empty so if you have any problems take it up with her," he said gesturing towards the door.
But the boy did was in a world of his own and did not seem to take the hint.
"Why him?" he asked.
Hao Xuan's brow furrowed, "What? What are you talking about? Listen kid, I'm dead tired already so leave before I kick you o-" he got off the bed to push him out but the next sentence that came out of the boy's mouth froze him on the spot.
"Why did you go with the Silent Father? The Blessings of the Deep would have been much better, at least for me."
Hao Xuan's hearts skipped a beat. His mind kicked into fifth gear, thoughts racing back and forth trying to figure out this person's identity and within just a couple of seconds he narrowed it down to a scant few.
It couldn't be that many people to begin with since he knew something that only Hao Xuan himself should know, in fact it could only be one of two.
"Turn around," Hao Xuan whispered, "Show me your eyes!"
The boy slowly turned to meet his gaze.
He had Hao Xuan's face which he expected but his eyes were a shimmering blue instead of the usual green.
"You don't seem that surprised, good," he coldly commented.
Hao Xuan swallowed some saliva to wet his drying throat, "How did...you get out?"
"You reached into our soul and called forth all of the marks that keep us sealed, did you not think that would be a problem?"
"Our soul? It's MY soul," Hao Xuan clarified.
But the boy's cold demeanor cracked and he couldn't help but chuckle at that distinction.
"Ha, it used to be, remember? I know you do because I remember it and we are one and the same now. Just different sides of the same crappy coin."
"Have you seen many three-sided coins?" Hao Xuan walked over to the door to make sure no one could walk in on them.
But the boy assured him that it wouldn't be a problem.
"You needn't worry, not just anyone can see me."
"But some can?"
"A few gifted ones, yes," he confirmed.
Hao Xuan shook his head, "Doesn't matter anyways, what do you want? Why did you come out here? And...what of the third one? Is he awake too?"
"The red-eyed sorcerer?" the boy's brow scrunched up, "You mean to say you don't remember?"
"Remember what?"
"Hmm, interesting. How did he accomplish that?" the boy muttered to himself while scratching his non-existent beard.
But Hao Xuan was only getting more confused, "What are you talking about?"
"I am referring to the last few jumps we made through the river of time. You don't remember them, do you? After what happened when you clashed with that monster?"
He didn't need to say anymore, it was pretty clear.
"He took over my body?!?"
"Our body, it belongs to all of us now...even though you were the first one in. But yes. You pushed yourself too far as usual and became too weak to keep things under control. Even with all the restrictions he managed to sneak his way out somehow and take partial control of your body."
Hao Xuan was stunned into silence for a moment.
"That...should not be possible..."
The boy shook his head with even more bad news, "That's not the shocking part."
Hao Xuan turned to him, aghast.
"W-What else?!"
"Although you are the one at the helm, we are still three parts of the same soul- the same entity. And as such we equally share all experiences with one another no matter what, or at least- we should have. But somehow he has found a way to lock you out of your own memori-"
"Wait," Hao Xuan had to cut him off, "Does that mean you can see and hear everything I do?"
"If we chose to, yes. And you should be able to do the same no matter how weak you become if either of us takes control, the memories would still leak through one way or another."
"But he...has managed to find a way to keep things from me...even though we are essentially the same soul. Then, what about you? Did you see what he was doing? You can tell me, can't you?"
"I can," the boy nodded expressionlessly which forced Hao Xuan to change his question to-
"Will you?"
"For the right price, and if I deem it important for you to know."
