The Dawn of the New World Chapter 1622

Hao Xuan was the only heavenly body within the night sky so wherever he went- light followed.

Gusts of pleasantly warm wind blew through the lumbering forest. Hao Xuan descended to a hundred meters above ground to get a better look and was amazed by the progress.

The trees were not only much larger but significantly older. The land appeared to be soft and fertile, perfect for a wide variety of fauna to not only sprout but prosper in every sense of the word.

He floated across the sky, taking note of every minute detail that could be remembered. He extended a hand forward to raise a vast swathe of land into the air. It had some decrepit buildings overtaken by the rampant outgrowth hidden within the dense vegetation.

'They are still here,' he mused, 'I never did find out how they came to be. Was it my doing or something foreign?'

But as he noticed the passage of time in this plane a seed of worry began to take root within his heart.

Hao Xuan turned his gaze to the distant mountain range cutting into the clouds like the jaws of some primal beast. With but a thought his form turned into a shooting star cutting across the sea of clouds overhead, disappearing within.

A few seconds later the trees shook and trembled as dozens of figures swung across the dense canopy. They tried to give chase but the forest came to an end in a few dozen kilometers leaving them with no choice but to turn back.

Their appearance was quite messy which made it difficult to ascertain much about their identities. What little of their forms was not covered in mud and soot was disguised underneath vines and giant leaves.

Their pitch-black eyes had no hint of any real intelligence- as was obvious by their appearance.

If Hao Xuan had seen them he would have thought of the primitive human ancestors of earth...or some wildling spirit conjured up in a haze of a bad trip.

Above the sea of clouds was another world entirely. The gigantic mountains that he had raised during his last visit were shrouded in the same kind of foliage as the world below. (Ch 1561)

But most importantly there was light here, and he flew straight to its source. The gargantuan black mountain dwarfed everything else in sight as he bubbled and spewed chunks of molten rock in every direction.

Hao Xuan's figure came to a stop above the lava lake. It was only 8 kilometers wide but he knew it was MUCH deeper.

"Cerberus!" he called out.

The volcano groaned and trembled shaking the entire landscape for hundreds of miles.

Hao Xuan surrounded himself in a barrier made from the overflowing soul power before descending into the lake. He fell thousands of meters in the blink of an eye before ultimately appearing at the bottom- wherever it was.

The bright red color of the roaring hellfire and intense heat obscured much of his vision and other senses. But he could still see a vague shape convulsing in the distance.

When Hao Xuan reached out with his spiritual sense he could pick up a few more details but they were obtuse and quite fleeting. In the end, all he gathered was that Cerberus was in a lot of pain and most of his body was already in shreds.

After a quick inspection Hao Xuan realized that the degradation had indeed slowed down from before thanks to the saturated fires of hell that created a sort of pressure chamber to fight against the rampant Time Energy.

'Keep fighting, it won't be too long now!'

He sent some words of encouragement but understandably, got no response.

But as Hao Xuan began his ascent something caught his eye. Due to the extreme pressure several energy crystals had begun to take form around the edges of the inner chamber and along the way up.

'Hmm, that's a surprise.'

Upon returning to the surface Hao Xuan flew into the air and imagined the sun's light covering everything in sight. When he opened his eyes it was so, made real by the immense power of his thoughts.

Hao Xuan closed his eyes once more and this time recalled the stone forest. (Ch 1559)

The world disappeared around him as he was sent hurling through countless unimaginable vistas before arriving at the forest of stones.

He knew where he was from a single look. The village he had seen was just behind the periphery but he didn't plan on hiding away this time.

Hao Xuan flew into the air in all his glory. The glow of his soul caked the land in white light as he flew over in plain sight for all to see.

But to his surprise, the Djinns were already waiting for him. Three rows stood between the village and him.

The first row was composed of the males, the largest and bravest of the lot. Their rune-scarred weapons hummed loudly in the silent night.
