The Dawn of the New World Chapter 1461

Groggy and confused, Hao Xuan stumbled out of bed and over to the door, pulling it open forcefully.

"STOP!" he yelled through gritted teeth, "What do you want?!"

He opened his eyes halfway to look at the speaker in annoyance. It was a demihuman girl with feline features mixed in. Wide-eyed and mouth agape, she was looking at him in shock.

"What do you want?!" he asked again.

And right before his eyes the girl's face turned beet red as she turned on her heels.

"F-Food! Outside!" she blurted out two words before running away at full speed.

"The hell?"

Hao Xuan walked out into the hallway to see where she was going but bumped into another person who was passing by. It was an old lady carrying a large bowl of steaming liquid which would have been spilled on top of him were it not for his quick reaction.

"I'm sorry, I didn't see you-" he tried to apologize after stepping out of the way but she took one look at him before her brow shot up in anger

"You PERVERT!" she yelled while throwing a kick towards his crotch at an astonishing speed.

But it was still too slow for him so he jumped out of the way, backed up and out of the hallway only to be welcomed by a cacophony of screams and horrified gasps.

He turned around to a table full of people all looking at him in a mixture of fear and astonishment. And they all appeared to be looking in the same spot.

When Hao Xuan followed their line of sight he finally realized that "all" of him was on full display to everyone in the room, which included Bertha who was sitting at the head of the table.

She threw him a quick once over before shaking her head in obvious displeasure, "Save the show for the patrons, we are trying to eat here."

"Tsk!"

Hao Xuan moved faster than any one of them could see and before they could react he was already back in his room. The door slammed shut and silence fell over.

One of the many beautiful girls sitting next to Bertha whistled and picked up a loaf of bread suggestively.

She had short white hair tied up in a bun and a beauty mark above her lip.

"Damn boss, I guess we all know how he got the job so quickly, huh? Would not have pegged you for a size queen through, " she sniggered before curiously leaning closer, "I want to know though, how did it feel? It must have hurt right? Is that why you didn't come out yesterday? Because you couldn't walk?" she fired off one question after another until Bertha had no choice but respond.

"Jasime, keep talking like that and your share is going to get even smaller," she calmly replied which was enough to shut her up momentarily.

"I'm just joking around, relax, will you?" Jasime playfully tapped her on the shoulder, "I guess you really didn't sleep with him, huh? Because there is no way you would still be so uptight if that thing had opened you up from the inside ou-"

Bertha picked up a steaming bowl of freshly poured soup and emptied it over her head. Jasime fell out of the chair writhing in pain while screaming her lungs out.

"AHHHH! YOU CRAZY BITCH!"

None of the other dozen or so individuals sitting around the table even dared to look up, choosing to eat their meals in the company of her screams.

"Know your place, trash," Bertha mumbled under her breath but everyone still clearly heard her.

Back in his room, Hao Xuan was standing in front of the open cabinet looking at his reflection in the mirror that hung on the inside of the cabinet door.

His eyes were a little pale but still remarkably green. Most of his other facial features were mostly the same apart from his skin which was a little more taught and a bit more tan.

When he inspected himself after arriving within the 'Wastes of Torment' he looked to be in his mid to late thirties but now he was several years younger.

His beard was still just as long with a lot of white hair but apart from that it wasn't too bad.

"Is this a physical side effect of merging our souls?" he asked out loud but got no response.

"Huh...must be because you always appear to be younger so my body is adjusting itself according to it," he presumed before quickly moving on.

There were some neatly folded clothes sitting in the back of the cabinet which he promptly put on. There was a size too short.

"Better than nothing," he mumbled while walking to bed.

After throwing them on Hao Xuan closed his eyes and began to inspect himself for any other changes, of which he found many. Several of his organs felt and looked a little different. From his heart, stomach, liver, and even lungs all the way to the brain, there were distinct changes that he could not pinpoint.
