"For once we can agree on something," Song Yi followed up in the same tone, which was also ignored by Lady Saira just like the previous comment.

"Please you too, act your ages," she gently scolded them before refocusing her attention on Nae Shin.

"Master Nae Shin, I am sure you know what is going on by now so I shant delay it any further. The 'disturbance' from last night did indeed cause a lot of damage to the 'Control Formation' and the spirit stone empowering it. The talented experts of the city can repair and mend the formation but the damage to the spirit stone is irreversible. And as you very well know, without it we are-"

Hao Xuan nodded along as he listened to her, making sense of what was happening in the city.

'This formation she's talking about should be the one that controls everything in the city from the shields to the direction and speed. If the spirit stone that powers it has actually been damaged then-'

"-utterly defenseless. We are stuck in one place with hardly a functioning barrier."

Lady Saira gestured to the rowdy crowd outside that could even be heard from the dining hall.

"Thankfully they have managed to restore much of the basic functions but it could stop at any moment and...we will be truly helpless by then," the gravity of the situation became clear from her grim tone, "There will be chaos in the streets as the mortals scramble for food and water. If the heat doesn't end them then the infighting will. And without the residents, the city will not function."

"Even those of our station will be subjected to the harsh challenges of the abyss while we make our way to the nearest safe harbor on foot. I don't have to tell you how dangerous that will be, I'm sure only a few would survive that journey," she ended with an unseen smile.

Hao Xuan could not have been more impressed by her. She painted a clear picture without blaming anyone in particular, managing to scare them half to death.

She continued, "If not for the thousands of innocent men, women, and children in the city then please do it for us and most importantly- yourself. The only way out is if we all work together."

Nae Shin was understandably scared out of his mind. He had no idea things were that bad but even now he looked to Hao Xuan for guidance- to which he shook his head.

"I-I'm sorry Lady Saira, I don't know a-anything about what happened."

"ENOUGH!"

Song Yi swiped her hand and the wall behind Nae Shin cracked in half by an unseen force.

Hao Xuan frowned, 'What did she just do? I didn't sense any spiritual energy at all.'

Song Yi stood up in her anger-fueled state.

"You and your brother were the ONLY ones who were unaccounted for. All of us were at the gathering last night- except for you two. I have witnesses who saw you enter the abandoned Beast Markets but no one saw you leave. And not to mention what we found there," her eyes narrowed.

Kyra suddenly perked up, "What do you mean 'found there'? Found what? When? You didn't tell us anything about that you lying bitch!"

Song Yi exchanged knowing glances with Lady Saira, who sighed in defeat.

Lady Saira stood beside Song Yi and faced the rest.

"There is no reason to hide it anymore, although I had hoped to have a clear answer rather than vague guesses. We think-"

Song Yi impatiently cut her off, "No, we KNOW the chosen has appeared, and he is somewhere in the city. Last night's actions have all but confirmed it."

The young masters and ladies looked at each other in confusion, "The chosen? We don't know what-"

"Yes, you do!" Song Yi reaffirmed, "THE chosen, OUR chosen. The prophecy is true and we are in the middle of it."

This was as clear as she could be in front of people who weren't aware of the sanctum's existence.

"The prophecy, I remember now!"

"It's real?? I thought it was something they made up to make themselves look more legitimate."

"Yeah but...I heard the chosen already appeared in another clan. How can he be here?"

Song Yi rolled her eyes, "Because obviously that one is a fake! Why else? You all witnessed the strange things that have been happening for the last few weeks. The unexplained lights, our marks reacting to someone, yesterday's events- they all correspond with many of the signs thought to be associated with his appearance! And-" she turned to face Nae Shin.

"-your Hyung knew something about that. He came to Yukio with a request to bring someone in. If I remember correctly, he said it was someone who would 'change everything we know and love' and bring about a new age. Who else could it be but the chosen?!"

She walked up to Nae Shin and placed a hand on his shoulder, "Yesterday would have been the perfect time to bring him in. That's why you went to the Beast market, right? To meet him? But something went wrong and...that happened. We already confirmed there was a fight. Tell us what transpired!"
