The Dawn of the New World Chapter 1459

Hao Xuan saw it coming and was glad to hear it. Making a deal was the right way to go about this, especially since they both needed each other.

"Name it," he asked and the boy answered without hesitation.

"A different body, one just for myself."

"..."

Hao Xuan thought he had misheard so he asked again, "I meant name your price for telling me what happened with that guy."

"And I told you-" he walked over to the bed and sat down, "If you want me to cooperate then I want a body of my own."

After thinking about it for a moment Hao Xuan could not see that actually happening any time soon.

"You understand what it would take to accomplish that, correct?"

"Of course," he replied confidently, "I might appear to be the youngest of us three but I was the first one the Emperor approached, which makes me the oldest. I also know a lot more than you, especially because of my status."

"Your status?" Hao Xuan tried to recall and the information came to him in bits, "You were a God?"

"The son of a God- a god you will come to know very well in time, see if you can recall who."

Hao Xuan thought about it for a moment and the answer presented itself, "Zeus! You were his offspring!"

"It's nothing to boast about," he casually waved his hand, "He has sired many children over the countless centuries, and most of them die before reaching maturity."

Hao Xuan was both shocked and amazed. Shocked at the revelation and amazed at the Emperor's audacity to pull something like that off.

"He really didn't hold back, huh?"

"He did not, which is why it needs to be fixed. Give me a new body and I will give you all of my powers and live my life as a mortal away from all this. It is a good trade. You will finally have the upper hand against the sorcerer. "

That was more than just a good trade.

The first soul that the Emperor had tried to turn was this boy's. He was born a demigod with one of the most potent bloodlines in existence but even that by itself was not enough for what he had planned.

Then he moved on to the sorcerer who had great affinity with magic but that did not come to pass either. Hao Xuan was his third and last choice.

The Emperor wanted to combine the abilities of all three souls into one supreme being that had the elemental affinity of gods, the mystical abilities from the realm of magic, and the near limitless drive and potential of a human.

And he had succeeded to a point but when Hao Xuan made the contract with the Nine his soul was suppressed and sealed, separating the three of them again before they had the chance to become whole once and for all.

Hao Xuan walked over to sit beside him, "Why? What are you going to do with a new body? You know you won't be able to survive for too long outside if you give away all your powers, at most it will be a few decades before you start decaying."

The boy went quiet for what felt like an eternity.

"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to-"

"My mother, I want to return to her side."

'?!'

"Your mother? She is alive??"

"Of course, why wouldn't she be?" he looked at him with a deep frown, obviously bothered by the implication.

"I'm sorry but- how would that even work? Would she even remember you? Did you even exist in this timeline?"

"I existed up to a point but after that- The Emperor wiped away all signs of my life. So as far as my mother knows I am still alive somewhere out there, lost in the Greater World."

Hao Xuan could not understand how that was even possible but then again, what he knew about the inner workings of the passage of time was very little. Certain parts of the Emperor's memories were still out of his reach.

The boy realized how it sounded but there wasn't much he could say either.

"I know how it sounds. I don't know how to explain it but when we traveled back in time I saw it all- from even before my birth. As Zeus is known for doing, he fell for my mother's beauty and tricked her into having relations with her by masquerading as her husband."

Hao Xuan could feel how strongly he felt about this. He was bubbling with anger and remorse while recalling the events, which he could clearly feel.

"She went through hell because of it. Marked as an adultress, she was expelled by society and even kicked out of the family while pregnant. She had no choice but to fend for herself for nearly three years- that's how long the gestation period lasted. Even after I was born it was never easy. But just when things started to take a turn for the better the Emperor came and took me away on my 14th birthday."
