The Dawn of the New World Chapter 1462
There were strange motes of energies surrounding each of the aforementioned organs and ONLY those organs. The type and intensity of each one was also slightly different.
"What is this? It feels so familiar but I have no knowledge of it," Hao Xuan thought out loud and Alexander's emotionless voice finally answered.
'The differences between the Divine and the Mundane are far too many, but none more so significant than their physiques. Where the souls and bodies of mortals exist as two separates, for the Gods they exist as one. Any changes within the divine souls are swiftly and accurately mirrored in their physical forms which limits their growth but in return grants them great powers.'
'Once you began to receive my abilities your physique started to change accordingly, mimicking the divine. It will not be the same as the True Gods but by the end, you could pass for a Demi-God if you wished to.'
"Then, the various elemental affinities you mentioned before, my organs are changing to accommodate for them?"
'Yes. Gods- and especially Demi-Gods have various organs within their bodies that are the source of their elemental powers, just like yours will be. You need to strengthen your affinities by surrounding yourself with those elements and letting them settle within the correct organ to be refined or-' he went silent.
"Or what?"
'Or kill a God and eat their organs.'
"Hmm, that's...something I have never really considered but we will see. What exactly are your affinities?"
'Like the God-King himself- many of my affinities come from him and his kin. The basic ones include earth, air, fire, and lightning, with a minor affinity for time. I believe my affinity with time was the main reason the Emperor chose me.'
"Okay, how do I tell which organ will refine what element?"
Because from Hao Xuan's point of view, all the energy motes looked identical for the time being.
'Must you be so oblivious?' Alexander suddenly got annoyed by the constant inquiries, 'It is all according to your body's functions mixed with my affinity with the elements. Discover for yourself which is which. The only things you need to keep in mind are-'
But before he could finish the door burst open and Luz ran in huffing and puffing, shutting the door behind him.
"Ha-haha, friend Jin, you are awake," he muttered while facing the door and slowly backing away from it.
But a few seconds passed and no one else seemed to be following him in so he let out a breath of relief and sat beside him
"Phew, that was close. How are you doing Friend Jin?" he patted Hao Xuan on the shoulder with a cheeky smile.
There were still pieces of bread stuck to his long whiskers which he couldn't look away from.
"I'm- good. How are you? I see you already had breakfast."
"Oh, this?" Luz wiped his face and emptied the crumbs into his mouth, "Hah, yes! I am big fan of inn's bread, even when it comes at risk of great injury! Hahaha!"
Hao Xuan didn't really know what to say so he changed the topic.
"So what brings you back so soon? I thought you were going to be busy for a couple of days," he was trying to hint that this wasn't the right time but Luz was far too oblivious- and right!
"Soon? Friend Jin it has already been 3 days since we last saw each other! Did you forget?" he replied scratching his head in confusion but Hao Xuan's brow knitted in concern.
'I slept for 2 whole days? Damn it!'
He jumped up, "Then let us not waste any more time, brother Luz. Are you ready to show me around the city?"
And Luz mimicked his movements to a T, leaping into the air excitedly.
"Of course! There is much to see, many things going on! We are coming on next field soon so everyone is getting ready!"
'Field?'
As Luz went for the door Hao Xuan pulled him back, "Not there! How about we go out from the window?" he gestured towards the wall.
Luz thought about it for a second before smacking his head.
"Right! How could Luz forget?!" he whispered, "Friend Jin is indeed a friend! Luz knew he made the right choice!" he muttered while crawling out of the window.
Hao Xuan glanced at the door and shook his head. He could hear several heartbeats waiting on the other side for them.
'Whatever that is, he can deal with it later.'
He moved the bed to block the door before silently leaping out of the window.

Three people were standing on the other side, one of them -a boy in his late teens- had his ear to the door.
Behind him were two girls of similar age holding pans and kitchen knives as weapons.
"Do you hear anything? What are they doing? Is that rat bastard coming out?"
"Shush, I heard something about the bread!" the boy replied in annoyance.
The girls grinned and readied themselves, "Then we wait until he comes back out, I am NOT letting that bastard escape again!"
