The Dawn of the New World Chapter 1490
The elder was right. Not only was Lord Viserryan still holding the Ancestral Blade but he didn't have any sons either? How did that make sense?
Hao Xuan met his gaze, choosing to be as forthcoming as he had been with him.
"Are you really the head of the Shin Clan?"
Lord Viserryan's eyes narrowed, "The Shin Clan?"
He turned to the right, looking at a girl who was perhaps in her early twenties. She also had the same silver hair as him. Next to her was her servant, a rather ordinary-looking man with a scarred face and short black hair.
"You, boy, what is your surname?" he casually inquired.
But before he could answer the silver-haired girl fell to her knees, "Father, forgive me please! It is all my fault! I did not wish to hide things from you, it just- I couldn't help it! Mother always told me to follow my heart and I-"
"Enough!" Lord Viserryan lightly tapped his foot which shook the entire land, even creating shockwaves within the lake.
Hao Xuan could see his knuckles turning white as he asked one more question, "Are you with child?"
"Y-Yes, I am," she stutteringly replied, inciting a round of gasps from almost everyone else present.
The scarred man standing beside her stepped forward, standing in front of her protectively.
"My Lord, punish me if you must. She is innocent in this matter," he said taking a knee and unsheathing his blade, "I will offer my life to appease your anger-"
"ENOUGH!" he yelled again, silencing the entire space.
His voice was so powerful that it even invoked Hao Xuan's bloodline effect, allowing him to withstand the outburst with relative ease.
They all turned to Lord Viserryan in this moment of silence until he finally muttered, "So...that is the future. Boy named Shin, I hope you are ready for what is to come. My daughter was betrothed to another, and he will not let this transgression pass without adequate bloodshed."
"I am," the scarred man replied confidently.
"Good, we will continue this later, now then..."
And only then did Lord Viserryan turn his attention back to Hao Xuan, who was finally beginning to connect the dots. But he couldn't believe it!
'The Ancestral Blade, the daughter, the man named 'Shin'. This is not the clan head of the Shin clan, this is their Ancestor! That means-'
"What year- how far-" he didn't even know how to phrase the question because it was so astoundingly ludicrous.
"WHEN is this?!"
But Lord Viserryan did not answer him openly.
Instead his voice rang into his ears, 'This blade is a part of me. It holds a portion of my power. When it senses danger to those dear to me, it can call out to me for help...even beyond time and space.'
Hao Xuan was speechless. Was such a thing even possible? Maybe because he was a dragon? But this was a feat unheard of even in their circles because he had pulled him back through time!
Or was that because Hao Xuan had already gone through the river once so it was much easier this time around?
'I do not sense evil in your intentions, child,' Lord Viserryan's voice came again, waking Hao Xuan from his stupor, 'I will send you back if you promise to protect my descendent and return him to his family once he has fully merged with the blade. Say it and it will be done!'
There was a gleam in his eyes as he ordered, 'Take your oath! Give me your word and I, Viserryan the Firstborn shall return you to your time. Quickly, before the connection severs!'
Hao Xuan's throat was as dry as the desert he had come from but he still managed to squeeze out the words, "I...do!"
Lord Viserryan raised the Ancestral Blade in his direction, casually swiping it from left to right.
Hao Xuan's vision blurred as the same golden energy surrounded him again. Lord Viserryan's words echoed in his mind for the last time, 'If you are dutiful we shall meet once more before the spell wears off. You may make your wishes known then.'
The scene turned dark and Hao Xuan found himself back in the Beast Market, standing over Nae Shin who was just waking up.
"Who...are you?" he asked in a weak voice.
The sword fell from Hao Xuan's grasp as he took a couple of steps back in a daze. The time energy had died down to a great degree which was a relief.
"Hey, kid...how long ago did your ancestor Viserryan walk amongst us?" Hao Xuan asked, trying to wrap his mind around what had just happened.
But Nae Shin was still out of it as he mumbled in a haze, "What...who are you...what are you talking about...where am I...? Hyung..."
"JUST ANSWER ME! How...long ago?!"
Nae Shin sat upright with some effort, confused to the extreme but still gave an answer.
"The Great Traitor Viserryan turned his back to the clan. He died more than 14,000 years ago..."
"Ha...hahaha..." Hao Xuan let out a hollow chuckle.
'He pulled me 14,000 years back into the past and his 'descendants' know him as a traitor??'
