Animal Whisperer: Take Back My Life and Love Chapter 186: Masked Bandits

4 min 1 views

Master Crow cocked his tail and gave Nancy a vivid description of Luna's current situation at Summers Corp Veterinary Hospital.

"Every day, Luna goes to work and leaves work with a long face, looking completely dejected. She's even secretly cried a few times."

"According to a little parakeet that went in for a checkup, because Luna's skill and seniority don't compare to the other vets, she's stuck doing the most menial and exhausting chores. Anyone can boss her around."

"A few times now, she's received calls from the hospital while on her way home, forcing her to turn back and work overtime."

Nancy shook her head, whispering softly, "She really brought this on herself."

She suddenly thought of the pet vaccine the Summers family was about to launch and lowered her voice to Master Crow. "Boss, can you help me deliver another message? There will be a travel allowance included."

Hearing this, Master Crow immediately straightened up and struck a professional messenger pose. "Proceed!"

Nancy suppressed a laugh and leaned in close to Master Crow's ear to give him the specific instructions. Just as Master Crow was flapping his wings to depart, Corry the squirrel scurried over in a frantic rush.

"This is bad!"

Seeing the usually mature and steady Corry so flustered, Nancy's heart skipped a beat. "Was Bobby snatched by a monster?"

"Close enough!" Corry scrambled onto Nancy, his tiny paws clutching her arm. He looked like he was about to cry. "Bobby is being blackmailed!"

Master Crow let out a loud caw, his feathers bristling. "What? Who dares bully Bobby!"

Nancy stroked Corry's small head, her voice urgent. "Take me there quickly!"

Corry hurried to lead the way. On the way to the rescue, Nancy walked quickly while asking the fuming Corry, "Who exactly is blackmailing Bobby?"

Corry immediately put his hands on his hips, his little face puffed out with rage. "It's a gang of bandit birds! They told my brother they saw the victim on the day she went missing."

He grew more excited as he spoke, his tail bristling. "But they insisted Bobby give them every single snack he had before they'd share the lead! He was silly enough to hand everything over, but the birds used their numbers to surround him and wouldn't let him leave. Now they're demanding he hand over even more snacks. They're nothing but pirates!"

Nancy sighed. "There are actually such unreasonable and cunning birds?!"

Master Crow added, "And such blind, wicked birds?!"

Soon, Nancy saw the gang of bandit birds Corry had described in the hidden bushes behind the Second Teaching Building. These birds were smaller than the palm of a hand with white feathers, but the feathers around their heads were pitch black. They looked exactly like a little white bird wearing a black mask—just like bandits robbing a bank.

This bandit-looking bird is a common urban subspecies known as the White Wagtail.

At that moment, six or seven bandit birds had formed a circle, trapping Bobby in the middle. They were chirping threats: "Hand over everything you have to eat, now!"

Bobby held his tiny paws together, his large, pitiful eyes brimming with tears. "Everyone, I really don't have anything left... waah... didn't you say you'd tell me the lead once you ate..."

The bandit birds ignored his explanation, remaining incredibly arrogant. "Because what you gave wasn't enough!"

"A lead this precious obviously costs a lot of snacks!"

"If you don't listen, we'll peck your butt!"

"We'll peck all the fur off your tail and make you go home bare!"

How despicable! This group of White Wagtails were exactly like a gang of street thugs.

Hearing the threats, Nancy's fists tightened. "Master Crow! Give them a taste of their own medicine!"

Before she even finished, Master Crow shot out like an arrow from a bow, his talons accurately grabbing the head of one White Wagtail. "Tired of living, are you? Blackmailing a subordinate covered by this Crow Boss!"

As he cursed, his wings weren't idle either. He swung left and right, delivering sharp slaps to the arrogant bandit birds, each one taking a solid hit. Two White Wagtails in the distance saw things going south and tried to flutter away.

"Don't even think about running!" Master Crow barked. "Believe it or not, I'll call my Golden Eagle right now for a mid-air sniper strike!"

The two birds that had just taken flight froze in mid-air and dropped back to the ground with a thud, pulling their necks in and not daring to move.

The rescued Bobby immediately scrambled to Nancy's feet and hugged her leg, wailing loudly. "Waaaaah... you finally came to save me!"

Nancy bent down sympathetically and scooped Bobby into her arms, gently stroking his head with her fingertip. "Don't cry, don't cry. It's okay now. The bad birds have been taught a lesson."

Bobby snuggled into her embrace, his furry body still shivering slightly, looking both pitiful and adorable.
