"Director! Something's wrong! The back gate... the back gate is on fire!"

Nancy's heart seized. "A fire at the back gate?!"

The little sparrow fluttered its wings frantically, leading the way. "The staff already called 911!"

Nancy immediately hit the button on her walkie-talkie, her words coming out in a rapid-fire burst. "All personnel, eyes up! Initiate emergency evacuation near the back gate immediately. Priority goes to moving tourists and animals!"

Barry's brow furrowed. As he kept pace with her, he dialed a number and kept it brief: "Get a car over here. Fast." He tightened his grip on Star's leash and followed the sparrow with Nancy toward the source of the fire.

"How bad is it? Where did it start?" Nancy asked mid-sprint.

The sparrow strained to stay ahead. "It's the largest tree in the forest section! The flames aren't too big yet!"

Instead of reassuring her, that second sentence made Nancy's heart drop.

Loren Zoo was densely forested, with canopies that interlocked like a vast, green web. Once a fire started spreading, the entire forest would transform into an inferno in minutes. Even worse, the resulting thick smoke would instantly blanket the entire zoo.

To make matters more urgent, that specific area near the back gate was home to the zoo's semi-wild Black-capped Capuchins. If the trees burned down, where would the monkeys live?

Nancy rounded the corner to the back gate and her chest tightened at the sight.

A massive tree was already crowned in roaring orange flames. Tongues of fire were licking at the neighboring branches, on the verge of creating a massive fire wall.

Worse still, a crowd of tourists had stalled nearby. Instead of evacuating, they were hoisting their phones to record the blaze, treating this crisis like a spectator sport.

Barry's eyes turned cold. He reached down and patted Star's back.

The wolfdog understood instantly. He threw his head back and let out a low, soul-shaking roar that cut through the chaos!

The tourists, startled by the sudden primal threat, finally snapped out of their trance and scattered, realizing the danger was real.

However, a few media reporters stayed pinned to the "front line" for their live streams, their tones exaggerated: "Are you seeing this? A massive fire has broken out on the very first day of Loren Zoo's grand event! Is this an accident, or..."

The live chat was already drowning in discord:

"Fire on the first day? This place must be terrible!"

"Maybe they did something shady and Karma finally caught up?"

"My god, why are people still watching? Just get out of there!"

Under Nancy's management, Loren Zoo never cut corners on fire safety. She and the staff arrived on the scene already hauling heavy extinguishers.

But the burning tree stood over ten meters tall. The flames were ravaging the upper canopy, leaving the team on the ground completely helpless. If they had waited for a fire truck with an aerial ladder, the fire would have already evolved into a catastrophe capable of swallowing the entire zoo!

They had to suppress the flames immediately!

Leon gripped an extinguisher, his expression grim. "Miss Nancy, we have to use the ultimate plan."

Nancy didn't hesitate. "It's time to call in the Monkey Squad!"

She patched through to the control room instantly. "Quick! Play the Capuchin feeding music!"

Seconds later, a familiar, high-energy melody blared from the park's loudspeakers.

The Black-capped Capuchins were the gentlest primates in the zoo. They were famous for their signature square faces and a temperament that was just as honest and down-to-earth as their looks. Loren Zoo operated them on a semi-wild basis—they roamed freely and interacted with guests by day, returned to their habitat for lunch, and went to their indoor enclosures at night.

To call them home, the zoo played a specific theme.

When the high-octane, nostalgic opening of "Dragonball" began to echo through the park, everyone froze. The reporter covering the fire looked utterly bewildered. "The situation is critical—why is the zoo playing such upbeat music?"

The live chat exploded:

"This music paired with a wildfire is the peak of 'the house is on fire but I'm vibing' energy!"

"They have the extinguishers, why aren't they climbing up to fight it? Why just stand there?"

"The guy above me makes it sound so easy. Why don't you try climbing a ten-meter burning tree?"

"Speaking of which, how does a tree that high just spontaneously catch fire? Something feels off..."

As the confusion peaked, a chorus of happy chirps and squeaks drifted from the distance.

One by one, the square-faced Capuchins appeared. Some sprinted down forest paths, while others swung gracefully through the treetops using vines, their faces beaming with the pure joy of "clocking out for lunch."
