Animal Whisperer: Take Back My Life and Love Chapter 401: The Great Actors
The sand fox went limp, sliding right off the director’s head. It collapsed into a chair and began to twitch violently, a suspicious white foam even bubbling at the corners of its mouth.
"I... I didn't touch it! It went down on its own!"
The director looked as though his soul had left his body. He raised his hands high to prove his innocence to the onlookers. "It’s acting! It’s definitely acting! It’s an actor!"
Oh!
The moment the sand fox heard the director of a multi-million dollar production acknowledge its status as an actor, its convulsions became even more enthusiastic. Its limbs kicked wildly as if it were about to drop dead at any second.
The director completely lost his nerve. On the verge of tears, he fell to his knees before the chair and pressed his hands together in a desperate plea. "Buddy! I’m sorry! I was wrong! Please, stop acting! We’re leaving! We’re clearing out right now! Just please, get up!"
Suddenly, a dense sound of flapping wings echoed from the horizon. It drew closer and closer, like muffled thunder rolling across the sky.
Everyone looked up in horror. Master Crow led the way, followed by a black mass of birds that blotted out the sun like a descending storm cloud.
Even more terrifying was the sight of Hunter, the golden eagle, at the front of the formation with eyes as sharp as blades. Every beat of its massive wings brought a whistling gust of wind, and it was flanked by several large, sinister looking vultures.
The flock circled the set like a disciplined army, letting out sharp, piercing cries that created an invisible, suffocating pressure.
The actors on set screamed in terror. Even the burly bodyguards looked pale, instinctively backing away.
Amidst the chaos, Nancy’s cold, penetrating voice rang out, instantly commanding the field. "Now, take your equipment and get out. Immediately. Otherwise, I can’t guarantee that your expensive lenses, lights, and fancy costumes will leave this place in one piece."
Nancy raised her hand slightly toward the swirling flock. Her tone was icy. "They just finished a very large meal."
As if to punctuate her words, a tiny, nervous sparrow tucked behind Master Crow accidentally let a splash of white droppings fall. It landed with precision right on the shiny bald head of the most arrogant bodyguard.
Time seemed to freeze for a second.
The sparrow fluttered its wings in a panic, hiding further behind Master Crow. "B…Boss... sorry, I couldn't hold it..."
Feeling the warm, sticky sensation on his scalp, the bodyguard’s face turned livid. His eyes bulged with rage, but just as he was about to explode...
Hunter let out a cry that seemed to split the very clouds. The eagle spread its massive wings, shielding the light, and locked its predatory gaze onto the man like a physical blade. It crouched slightly, ready to dive at a moment's notice.
The bodyguard’s fury was instantly doused by the death stare of the sky’s overlord. He froze in place, cold sweat pouring down his face, not daring to move a muscle.
"Retreat! Everyone out now!"
The director of the Dessert Route crew had lost all sense of dignity. His voice cracked as he shrieked at his subordinates, "Move everything out! Fast! Clear the set now!"
In an instant, the previously insufferable crew scrambled like stray dogs. They fumbled to pack up their expensive gear in a pathetic display of panic. They didn't dare spare another glance at Nancy or her "air force," wanting only to escape the place where their pride had been stripped away.
Just as the Dessert Route crew was loading the last of their gear onto the trucks, ready to slip away... "Wait!"
Sicily lunged forward, spreading her arms to block the convoy. She pointed at the aluminum alloy tracks that had been dismantled and tossed haphazardly into the sand, her voice trembling with anger.
"Give us back our filming tracks! These are our crew’s most important assets, and you’ve left them in pieces!"
Nancy stepped up to stand beside Sicily, her voice clear and firm. "And the labor compensation. You illegally occupied this site for six full hours, severely impacting our filming schedule. You must cover those losses."
Seeing that most of the expensive equipment was already covered and the big-name stars were safely inside their luxury trailers, the director felt he had no more vulnerabilities. His arrogance surged back.
He straightened his collar and strutted over to the two women.
"Hmph. Giving you back the location was a courtesy. Don't push your luck."
As soon as he finished, the window of a luxury van rolled down. The male lead, who had been terrified by the Pallas's cat earlier, stuck his head out to play the victim.
"You want compensation from us? What about our mental distress? Those animals nearly scared me to death! Do you have any idea what my daily rate is? If you delay my shoot, you couldn't afford the damages even if you tried!"
