The little alpaca stared wide-eyed at the man standing before it. This was the ally Master Crow had sent for the extraction!

Feeling a surge of solidarity, the alpaca immediately joined the fight, launching a massive glob of spit directly into Ginnie’s face.

Spitting is a specialized defense mechanism for alpacas; they can hit a target from five feet away with pinpoint accuracy. This particular alpaca was a grandmaster of the craft. A thick, gooey mess of saliva plastered itself across Ginnie’s face.

Usually, this alpaca was a timid pushover. Ginnie never expected it to retaliate, and caught completely off guard, she was drenched in the stinking fluid.

The spit was a foul cocktail of stomach acid and fermented grass. Even with her iron-clad self-control, Ginnie couldn't take it. She lunged to the side and began to retch violently.

"Ms. Ginnie!"

Her assistant rushed over with wet wipes, frantically trying to clean Ginnie’s face.

An alpaca’s spit is actually gastric acid containing digestive enzymes meant to break down tough plant fibers. Combined with the fact that this alpaca was sick, the chemical makeup was highly irregular—acting almost exactly like a heavy-duty, alkaline makeup remover. It was the natural enemy of waterproof cosmetics.

As the assistant wiped, she didn't clean the face; she smeared it. Ginnie’s carefully applied "no-makeup" look dissolved into a muddy slurry of beige sludge.

The livestream camera and the gathered guests watched in real-time as the foundation melted off Ginnie’s face like wet plaster. Without the enhancement of her makeup, her "radiance" vanished instantly under the high-definition lens.

The celebrity guests didn't even care about the investment anymore; they all whipped out their phones, turning into frontline gossip reporters. This was a once-in-a-lifetime event. Who had ever seen a biological chemical attack by an alpaca? The investment deal was dead, but the drama was priceless.

Ginnie couldn't even see what was happening. Her eyes were stinging and glued shut by the thick saliva. Her assistant was frantically using saline solution to flush her eyes.

The keepers' attention was completely diverted by the chaos surrounding Ginnie. The alpaca’s handler tried to grab its lead, but the animal delivered a sharp kick that sent him flying onto his backside. Other keepers tried to lure the animals with snacks, but the alpaca shifted into "Gatling Mode," spraying saliva indiscriminately and sending the staff running for cover.

The unluckiest was the vet holding the tranquilizer gun; before he could even get close, his glasses were coated in spit, leaving him stumbling around blindly.

Lars, meanwhile, had found a stainless steel water basin to use as a shield. He crouched beside the alpaca, protecting it while waiting for Nancy’s signal.

Watching the stream, Nancy saw her opening and sent the command to Master Crow. "Master Crow, send in the locksmiths!"

For this operation, Nancy had spent a small fortune on a high-tech smartwatch, which she had strapped to the crow's neck for remote communication.

Master Crow, currently with his "underworld" associates, sent back a raspy voice note: "Roger that! Over!'

The livestream was already a mess, but what happened next turned it into a full-scale riot.

A frantic sound of wings filled the air as seven or eight woodpeckers suddenly flew in through the open windows. They landed with precision on the wooden latches of the various animal enclosures.

Then, they got to work.

The sharp beaks of the woodpeckers moved like industrial jackhammers, hammering away at the wooden locks. Within seconds, wood chips were flying everywhere. It looked like a professional demolition crew had moved in.

"Holy— the wrecking crew is here!"

Lars ducked his head, realizing the animals didn't need his protection at all; they were all stone-cold pros. To save money and look "rustic," Ginnie’s enclosures used cheap, aesthetic wooden latches. They were no match for the woodpeckers. One by one, the locks clattered to the floor.

A sharp, piercing crow’s call echoed from the windowsill.

In an instant, every animal in the pavilion acted as if they had heard a battle charge. The rabbits, lemurs, and ducks burst from their enclosures in a single, synchronized wave, heading straight for the main entrance of the Cuties Petting Zoo.

The keepers tried to give chase, but the alpaca unleashed a new round of Gatling-style spit fire. The woodpeckers spread their wings and hovered in front of the staff, their sharp beaks glinting like unsheathed daggers.

The keepers froze. One peck from those beaks would be a lot more painful than the wooden latches. Flesh and blood were no match for a high-speed drilling service.
