Jack looked at the group of youthful yet indignant students and shook his head. Students were just students; they only cared about eating.

He spoke with a sneer, "Catching a murderer is simply more impressive than catching a thief. Is there a problem with that?"

Just then, Nancy's phone rang. It was a call from Simon, and she answered immediately.

Simon's voice came through: "Nancy, I've caught the suspect at Heart Mart."

Nancy turned on the speakerphone. "The wind is a bit loud on my end. What did you just say? Say it louder!"

Simon paused for a second on the other end, but obediently raised his voice as his sister requested: "I've caught the suspect at Heart Mart! There's a cold storage unit under the supermarket that is very likely the primary crime scene where the murder and dismemberment took place! The suspect has just been escorted back to the bureau; I only just found the time to call you."

Every word from the speaker was crystal clear. The smile on Jack's face, which had been full of superiority, froze instantly. He stood there dazed, unable to react for a moment.

The lecture he had been ready to deliver to Nancy was suddenly stuck in his throat, leaving him speechless. He looked on in disbelief. "How can that be! Simon again?"

"And what on earth is Heart Mart?"

At this point, the students standing nearby had also heard the conversation clearly and began to discuss it excitedly:

Neil, who had just been praising Jack, also felt his face stinging with embarrassment. He quickly straightened his expression and said, "I'll escort this theft suspect back to the bureau immediately! Since he has stole so many times and the amount is so large, we will handle this strictly to give the students justice!"

With that, he hurriedly escorted the thief away from the scene.

Jack turned away hastily under the silent stares, almost fleeing. Even his retreating back looked pathetic. The students laughed as they reclaimed their takeout, and lunchtime instantly turned into a lively gossip session.

Everything that happened below the student dormitory quickly spread throughout the campus via phones and casual chats.

Nancy knelt down and spoke tenderly to the stray cats, "Thank you to the Meow-Meow Squad for the help today! I'll be coming to the school lab often to do experiments from now on. If you ever run into trouble, you can find me anytime~"

Hearing that they would see this lady again—the one who could understand them and stand up for them—the cats meowed happily, their tails held high as they circled her affectionately.

"It's a deal!"
