Sicily stepped forward immediately. She presented the video evidence on her phone and gave the Mayor and the police a clear, concise account of exactly what had happened.

As she finished, her voice was tight with frustration. "If we hadn't hired Nancy and her team, we would have been forced to just take the hit today. We wouldn't have had any way to fight back."

The Mayor of Raventown turned on the Dessert Route crew, his expression cold. He didn't hide his contempt as he looked at the stunned group.

"You're claiming Nancy bullied you? That's the most pathetic thing I've heard all year."

He swept his arm out toward the vast expanse of the desert, his voice steady and sharp.

"Do you have any idea what Nancy has done for this town? She's the one who found a high-grade gold mine here. Do you understand the weight of that discovery?"

The Mayor’s words hung in the air, silencing everyone on set.

"It means the upcoming mining operations will provide stable jobs for thousands of families. Raventown is remote and we've always struggled, but the revenue from this mine will finally let us build better schools. Our children won't have to trek for miles just to get an education. We’ll build roads and bridges so no village is left isolated. We’re going to fix our infrastructure so clean water flows into every home and every night is lit by a stable power grid. This discovery changes the future for every person living here."

Nancy was momentarily taken aback by the Mayor’s praise.

I was just following my instincts.

She had reported the information from the animals just as she always did. She hadn't expected that a simple act of helping out would lead to such a massive shift for the region.

Nancy’s voice was clear and sincere. "You're giving me too much credit. I just happen to be able to communicate with animals; I was just the translator for them. The treasure buried here belongs to the country. We live in a nation with abundant resources, and that's what we should really be celebrating."

After the heated conflict and the blatant lies, Nancy’s calm humility stood in stark contrast to the Dessert Route crew’s desperate attempts to smear her.

Her composure acted like a mirror, reflecting just how petty the other side really was. It only made the Mayor and the officers even more furious.

The Mayor took a deep breath and turned back to the director, who looked like he was about to faint.

"We came here specifically to present Nancy with a gift and to finalize the development plans for the mine."

The Mayor's gaze was sharp, his lips curling into a cold, mocking sneer.

"You were just bragging about the money your crew brings in. But a team that doesn't understand basic human decency and only knows how to bully others? Whatever you're filming is worthless. It's just expensive trash. And yet you had the nerve to harass someone who has done so much for this community."

The Dessert Route crew stood there in humiliated silence. Their faces were flushed with shame, and not a single one of them dared to make a sound.

The Mayor turned to his secretary, his voice echoing across the set. "Record every detail. This crew has demonstrated severe professional ethics violations, from the illegal occupation of a filming site to the slander of a distinguished expert."

He looked directly at the director, whose features were paralyzed with shock.

"I'll be reporting this to the state cultural and tourism bureau. I'm going to recommend that every city and county re-evaluate all ongoing and future projects with this crew. Raventown has no room for people who poison this industry, and I expect other cities will feel the same way."

The blood drained from the director’s face as the weight of the threat set in.

This was effectively a death sentence for the entire crew’s career. He didn't hesitate for another second, practically scrambling over to Sicily and Nancy before giving a deep, sweeping bow to the entire team.

"I am so sorry! We were completely out of line! We'll apologize and provide full compensation immediately!"

Even as he spoke, he shrieked orders at his terrified staff. "Move! Get the tracks for Sicily’s crew back exactly where they were! Be careful with them!"

Turning back, he forced a desperate, humble smile toward Sicily. "Don't worry about the lost time. We'll pay double... no, triple the labor compensation! Please, I beg you and Nancy to show some mercy."
