Animal Whisperer: Take Back My Life and Love Chapter 359: High Stakes And Luxury
"Almond’s body would never have seen the light of day. If my grandmother and Rudolph could plot behind my back like this, today it’s a life. Who knows what disaster they would have caused tomorrow? Just thinking about it leaves me cold with fear."
Faylin was struck by both heartbreak and terror at the realization that the kind grandmother from her memories possessed the cold resolve required to handle a corpse.
Nancy stepped forward and lightly patted Faylin’s shoulder, feeling a stir of sympathy. Many people in this situation would have resented the person who exposed the truth, blaming them for shattering their peaceful life. But Faylin was different. She was clear headed and brave enough to face reality and distinguish right from wrong.
Someone who could remain objective and moral under such pressure was exactly the kind of long term partner Nancy could trust.
Faylin had been hit with a massive amount of information and needed time to process it all alone.
"Take care," Nancy said softly as she and Simon led the animal team out of the villa.
One week later, Happy Bites, the first krill and algae dog food line under Nancy’s independent pet brand, Peacemaker, officially entered production.
The Happy Bites production line utilized the facilities at Garuda Corp. When Nancy had been cornered into stockpiling algae earlier, she had brought Garuda’s founder, Jose, along for the ride, helping him net a fortune. Now, Jose was a true believer. He supported Nancy’s proposals without question, as time and again, following her lead proved to be a fast track to wealth.
Garuda Corp operated infant food supplement lines that met international standards with extremely high hygiene ratings. Using such a facility for pet food was a massive logistical advantage, ensuring that Happy Bites stayed fresh and safe.
Meanwhile, Summers Corp was busy implementing purchase limits on Special Bites. Seeing the overwhelming market demand, they breathed a secret sigh of relief, their hearts swelling with a hidden sense of pride. Now, even with money, people couldn't just buy their high end dog food. They had to beg for it and wait in line. It had become the luxury brand of the pet food world.
Monday’s routine shareholder meeting at Summers Corp was buzzing. The shareholders looked over the reports showing that Special Bites was sold out nationwide. Finding a single bag had become nearly impossible.
Everyone in the room wore a look of irrepressible joy. From professional show dog kennels to animal research centers, everyone was pulling strings just to secure an order. The product had become a symbol of status and prestige.
Ginnie watched the unprecedented hype for the product she had championed, and a smile tugged at the corners of her mouth.
"Buying up that algae at a premium was a risk, but looking at the results, it was clearly worth it."
An assistant was quick to agree. "This is all thanks to the work you put into refining the product. Now, Special Bites is a rare resource that people are begging to buy. If only we hadn't felt that sting when paying for the raw materials..."
Ginnie looked toward the future with total confidence.
"Once the supply of algae stabilizes, we’ll recover our costs and start seeing a massive surge in profits."
The current high production costs were simply stepping stones to a future windfall. Thinking about it this way made Ginnie feel much better.
"By the way, Ms. Ginnie," the assistant added, "the organizers of next month’s Golden Paw Award National Dog Show in Oceanville have specifically invited you as a guest of honor."
The assistant handed over a gold embossed invitation and a contract. "They want to order five hundred bags of Special Bites as prizes for the champions. They also want to sign a long term agreement to make our product the official designated dog food for all future competitions."
Ginnie flipped through the contract, smiling.
A senior shareholder looked at the invitation with visible excitement. "In the past, every dog food manufacturer would fight tooth and nail, throwing money and free products at the organizers just to get an advertising slot. But now? The organizers are coming to us, begging for our food!"
His voice was thick with pride. "This kind of treatment is unprecedented in this industry."
"Exactly," another shareholder chimed in. "Special Bites is now the Hermes of the dog food world. The fact that we can't keep up with demand is the best brand premium we could ask for."
"You could say it was a blessing in disguise," the first shareholder continued. "Our stock of algae is tight for now, but once the supply is back to normal, we’ll have completely secured our position as a luxury brand."
"If we had actually gone with Nancy’s krill and algae plan, we never would have created this kind of scarcity."
"True," another added. "This kind of top tier marketing is something money can't buy."
The shareholder who had spoken first looked at Ginnie with newfound respect. "At the end of the day, it was Ms. Ginnie’s decisive move to secure the raw materials against all opposition that proved to be the brilliant choice."
