Animal Whisperer: Take Back My Life and Love Chapter 228: The Walking Fifty Million
"The client is extremely anxious. After all, he is bringing that Akhal-Teke to the country next month for the International Prestigious Horse Exhibition."
Nancy's eyes widened instantly, and her voice jumped an octave. "An Akhal-Teke?!"
The Akhal-Teke was the legendary Sweat-Blood Horse. These horses have skin so thin that their blood vessels are clearly visible. When they run and their blood flows rapidly, their bodies take on a reddish hue, making it appear as if they are sweating blood. A high-quality Sweat-Blood Horse starts at fifty million—it was effectively a walking half-hundred-million!
Her curiosity exploded, and she leaned in closer. "Which country is the client from?"
Barry looked at her with her messy hair full of feathers and her sparkling eyes; she looked like a little Indian sparrow that had just finished a fight. He couldn't help but curve his lips. "Morovia."
He paused, intentionally adding in a slow drawl, "If this gets settled, the thank-you gift from the other party definitely won't be meager."
Nancy sucked in a breath, nearly jumping out of her skin. "My god! A Morovian tycoon!"
The classic phrase immediately flashed through her mind: A cloth on the head, the richest in the world!
Excitedly, Nancy grabbed Barry's arm, her eyes turning into stars. "You are clearly my human ATM!"
Barry, shaken by her enthusiasm, gently pushed her shoulder back. "Don't get so close, the feathers are drifting onto my face." He intentionally straightened his expression, suppressing a smile. "Don't get too happy too soon. This client had already flown a team of experts from Summers Corp Pet Hospital to Morovia for a consultation, but unfortunately, they couldn't find the problem. For the exhibition, Summers Corp is taking the lead, gathering top veterinary experts from across the country for a grand consultation on this horse."
Hearing the name "Summers Corp Pet Hospital," Nancy blinked, then understood. Summers Corp indeed had a massive reputation in the domestic animal medical field, and with their recent hype for the Light-Second vaccine overseas, it wasn't surprising they were chosen.
Barry's tone shifted slightly. "However, my Morovian friend also asked his partners here in Dracovia to privately look for other capable veterinarians."
A small flame of fighting spirit ignited in Nancy's eyes, and her fists clenched instinctively. "A head-on confrontation... I'm going to teach the Summers family a lesson!"
She tilted her chin up. "This time, I will take back everything that belongs to me!"
Barry looked at the stray lock of hair on her head—bent upward by a chicken talon—twitching along with her excitement. He reached out and gently touched the disobedient hair.
"Big ambitions. But before that..." He paused, plucking a white feather from her hair. "Shouldn't you clean yourself up first?"
Nancy snapped out of it, rubbing her nose sheepishly. She stood on her tiptoes to carefully apply the last bandage to his face, giving him a sweet smile. "Got it! You have to contact me when the time comes!"
Nancy was already prepared to tear a fat piece of meat right out of the Summers family's mouth!
Just as the two reached their "cooperation consensus," the two little squirrels darted into the RV like a gust of wind.
Bobby stood at attention and gave an imperfect salute with a tiny paw. "Reporting to the chief! The chicken coop breach has been solved. The culprit has been found!"
Corry solemnly adjusted the bowtie around his neck. "After a site investigation, it is confirmed that Snowy did it!"
"He snuck into the coop to find food and opened the latch, but he forgot to bolt it back in place!"
Bobby rushed to report the final intel: "The suspect is currently hiding in a tree hole under the third large pine in the forest area!"
"Awaiting instructions! Should we initiate the arrest immediately?"
Nancy immediately switched into "Zoo Director Case-Solving Mode" with a wave of her small hand. "Let's go! Arrest that troublemaker!"
She turned to Barry, her eyes bright with an invitation. "Do you want to come? You can personally teach the culprit a lesson so he remembers it!"
Barry looked at the "one person, two squirrels" squad, the words "aren't you all being childish" at the tip of his tongue. But meeting Nancy's expectant gaze, the words took a turn. He actually nodded. "...Lead the way."
As Barry followed Nancy out, his eyes caught Star, who was huddling in the corner trying to be invisible. Star tried to sneak a few steps after them.
Barry stopped and turned, using his index finger to gently tap Star's wet nose. "You go face the wall and reflect. No extra treats tonight."
Star let out a pitiful whine, his ears drooping, but he obediently walked back to the corner and lay down, facing the wall, leaving behind a profoundly lonely silhouette.
