"Exactly. We’re all very concerned and want to do whatever we can for your horse."

Nancy leaned toward Barry, lowering her voice. "I thought it was just going to be me and the Summers family today."

Barry scanned the room, a faint smile playing on his lips. "When there’s a prize this big, everyone wants a seat at the table."

Callum looked around at the gathered vets, his voice booming through the hall. "Today, whoever cures my stallion, Cloud, will receive a three-million-dollar bonus on top of all medical expenses!"

He paused and continued, "Furthermore, that person will always be a guest of honor in my home and have my personal direct line."

Three million dollars was quite the fortune for anyone.

Nancy’s eyes practically turned into stars. She clenched her fists, her competitive streak flaring up. "I'm definitely taking that prize."

Barry caught her look of pure determination and felt a trace of a smile. He leaned down, whispering in her ear. "Then go get it."

His low voice was steady and full of confidence.

Callum turned to his staff and gave the order. "Bring Cloud out!"

A young man in a white lab coat led a white Akhal-Teke into the hall. The horse's coat seemed to glow with a soft light, shining like liquid silk. Every step it took was a display of power and grace.

The young man led the horse to the center of the room and stopped in front of Callum. He offered a calm smile. "Hello, Mr. Callum. I’m Brandon Colley."

Callum’s face lit up with surprise. He stepped forward and shook Brandon’s hand warmly. "Mr. Brandon! We met once at an overseas equestrian event. I had no idea the Summers family actually managed to get you here."

The billionaire was clearly impressed. What surprised him even more was that Cloud, a fifty-million-dollar stallion known for being incredibly aloof was currently nuzzling Brandon’s shoulder and letting out a relaxed whinny.

This high-bred animal usually ignored strangers, but it was acting like a gentle foal around Brandon.

"Incredible," Callum marveled. "Cloud rarely lets anyone get this close. He's famously arrogant. You really do live up to the reputation, Mr. Brandon."

Brandon gently stroked the horse’s neck, and Cloud closed his eyes in contentment. "Cloud and I just have a connection."

He made it sound simple, as if winning the trust of a priceless animal was the easiest thing in the world.

The various veterinary teams gathered in the hall began whispering among themselves. Seeing Brandon take the lead for Summers Corp had them worried.

"This is bad. If the Summers family goes first, how long are we going to be waiting in line?"

"Looks like that three million is going to the Summers family..."

Callum stroked Cloud’s neck, his brow furrowed. "About two months ago, Cloud started stopping suddenly during his runs. He lets out these anxious cries." He sighed. "None of the doctors I’ve brought in can find the cause."

Brandon’s fingers moved expertly over the horse’s joints and muscles. "Based on your description, my initial assessment is that this isn't physical. It’s psychological."

His voice was calm. "Don't worry, Mr. Callum. I grew up on the plains surrounded by horses. I know how to talk to these proud creatures."

With that, Brandon took the reins and led Cloud toward the advanced imaging equipment. The horse followed him without a hint of resistance.

Ginnie signaled her team, and the six experts immediately fell into line. It was a well-oiled machine. Some handled the ultrasound, others monitored vitals, and others prepared samples. The entire process moved with clinical precision.
