Barry swept a single ice-cold glance over them, and the interrogation that had reached Chandler's lips was choked back instantly, as if an invisible pressure had seized his throat.

Following close behind, Jorgan took a timely step forward. With a standard professional smile, his tone was respectful, yet every word cut to the bone.

"Miss Nancy spent twenty-two years with the Summers family, and her health only grew worse. May I ask where exactly this 'good treatment' the Summers family speaks of can be found? Mr. Chandler, according to our records, the monthly salary of the Director of Summers Corp Pet Hospital likely doesn't even match the hourly rate Mr. Goodman pays Miss Nancy."

Jorgan bowed his head slightly, delivering the harshest truths with the utmost politeness.

"After all, the part-time compensation Miss Nancy receives as our company's animal language consultant is five figures per hour. If I may be blunt, your hospital... likely cannot afford her."

As Jorgan finished, the blood drained from the faces of the three Summers family members. Chandler's pupils shook, his mind stuck on a single thought.

Intense jealousy caused Chandler to lose his reason. Ignoring the setting, he shouted at Barry, "You haven't had much contact with her, you mustn't let this girl deceive you!" She is a greedy, ungrateful wolf. She's definitely targeting your money right now. You must be careful!"

"If that counts as greed... then it seems the Summers family's reputation as a wealthy household is truly an empty title."

He lowered his gaze to the Nancy beside him. "If she weren't after my money, but after something else..."

"I would be the one who needs to worry."

Chandler was completely dumbfounded! He had thought that by solidifying the "gold-digger" label, he could make Barry disgusted, but he never expected this reaction.

"We watched Nancy grow up; we know her character best!" Cindy added hastily. "This girl looks fragile on the surface, but there's no telling when she might stab you in the back..."

Instead of being angry, Barry let out a low chuckle.

"If Nancy truly had the ability to stab me in the back—" He curled his lips into a smirk. "Then that would be a testament to her real talent."

Nancy looked up, meeting Barry's deep gaze. Her face heated up, and her eyes widened in surprise. Barry's logic was entirely unexpected! Was this the mindset of the truly powerful?

Cindy stared in shock. She never imagined the legendary "Cold-Faced Yama" of the business world would react this way.

Chandler was the first to snap out of it, hurriedly pushing Ginnie forward. "Actually, our Ginnie is much more outstanding than Nancy!" She grew up in a poor family and relied entirely on her own hard work to get into a top veterinary school. That is true talent and learning!"

Ginnie lowered her eyes appropriately, her voice soft enough to drip water. "Dad, don't say that." Nancy didn't let down the Summers family's meticulous upbringing either; she is also very excellent."
