"It seems he’s been keeping a lot more from me than I realized."

Callum’s fingers flew across his phone screen for a moment before he looked up. "Ms. Nancy, thank you for the lead today. You’ve helped me see a friend for who he really is. I’ve decided to add a two-million-dollar bonus to your fee. That’s five million dollars total for the treatment and the consultation. It'll be wired to your account immediately."

Two million dollars! Did I hear that right? That's insane.

Nancy quickly shifted into her professional mode. "Mr. Callum, that’s incredibly generous. I’m honored."

Callum waved it off. "Don't mention it. My oil fields have been over-producing lately. I literally have more money than I can spend."

Must be nice. Nancy thought, momentarily stunned by the sheer scale of his wealth.

Callum checked a notification. "I’ve already put an investigator back home on the vet’s offshore accounts. Ms. Nancy, your ability to communicate with animals is a miracle. Please, give me your card. I need to introduce you to my friends."

Rich guys overseas loved their stallions and birds of prey. Many of them built private zoos on their estates, housing anything from cheetahs to exotic pythons. A vet with Nancy's skills would be a gold mine.

"If they have any trouble with their pets, I’ll tell them they have to call you," Callum added.

This is huge. His friends are all billionaires.

Nancy wanted to scream with excitement, but as she reached into her pocket, she realized she didn't actually have any business cards.

Great. Am I really going to give a billionaire a piece of notebook paper? That’s pathetic.

Just then, Jorgan walked in and handed a stack of cards to Callum.

Callum looked them over and tucked them away. He looked at Barry. "Ms. Nancy’s cards match your style, Mr. Barry. Very elegant." He stood up to shake Barry’s hand. "Thank you for the introduction. You’re the most reliable partner I have here."

Barry returned the handshake. "It was Nancy’s talent that made the recommendation work."

Callum excused himself to coordinate with his investigator, and Nancy waved him off. As he led Cloud away, the massive white horse kept looking back, his large eyes fixed on Nancy.

"Don't worry," Nancy whispered, blinking back at him. "The next time I'm overseas for work, I'll come find you."

Once they were alone, Nancy turned to Barry, her eyes sparkling. "When did you have cards printed for me?"

"It was a small thing. I had Jorgan handle it."

Barry took a fresh stack of gold-embossed cards from Jorgan and pressed them into her hand. "A top-tier animal communicator shouldn't be without a card."

Nancy looked at the elegant cards and gave him a massive grin. "Thank you."

After lunch, Nancy followed Barry to the equestrian invitational. Jorgan led her to a front-row seat in the VIP section.

As the event began, the crowd went quiet. Barry entered the arena leading an Akhal-Teke that was pure, shimmering black. Its coat looked like flowing velvet, and its white hooves stood out like snow.

The man is a bottomless pit of money. I’m actually starting to feel a little jealous.

As soon as she sat down, several well-dressed executives made their way over.

"Ms. Nancy, I heard you treated Mr. Callum’s stallion. Such talent for someone so young. I'm a director at Chengfeng Real Estate, a pleasure to meet you."

"Ms. Nancy, I've heard so much about your work. May I have a card? I'm the executive director of RA Technologies."

Jorgan handled the cards with ease, while Nancy collected a thick stack of contacts from the biggest names in the room.

Someone recognized Jorgan and asked, "Is Ms. Nancy a consultant for Goodman Corp?"

Jorgan offered a professional smile. "No. Ms. Nancy is a key partner of Mr. Barry."

That distinction made the crowd look at her with even more respect.

The invitational started shortly after. The crack of the starting pistol cut through the air, and Barry and his black horse shot forward.

He leaned forward, his fingers controlling the reins with total precision. The horse’s muscles rippled like water as it moved, clearing every hurdle perfectly. Before the crowd could even catch their breath, Barry crossed the finish line.
