CHIARA: “Umm, guys, please don’t let the Luna get angry with the staff. They didn’t know that I wasn’t supposed to be here.” “I mean, in this part of the clinic.” I said to them, changing the subject and hoping to save the staff from the wrath of the Luna. “We’ll think about it.” Jayden says. “So, umm, did you have a good trip?” I asked again, changing the subject. “It’s not what we would call good. Let's just say it was continuing education, and just like school, some of it was good and some of it sucked.” Caiden replied. Right then, Parker came in with a fresh blood bag and a sedative. “Oh, hello alphas, it’s time for her to have her next blood bag, and she needs to have a sedative to help increase the healing properties.” “When will she be getting out?” Jayden asked. “That depends on how quickly we can get her concussion to heal.” Parker tells them. “Ok, thank you.” “I guess we will go then and let you rest and heal.” I nod at them. “Thank you for the visit and the bracelet, but it really wasn’t necessary for you to go out of your way to visit me.” I said, keeping my tone neutral. “Of course, we needed to come see you, you’re our favorite human after all.” Caiden replied. I didn’t say anything. Favorite punching bag is more like it. I thought. But I couldn’t voice that. Once the twins left, I looked at Iesha. “Sorry, we didn’t get to do any homework.” “Don’t worry about it, I will drill you on Dracula so that I don’t have to read the whole book.” She says. “Fair enough.” And she started to ask the pertinent questions to be able to at least start her book report. Before the sedative took effect and I fell asleep.

IESHA: I took notes on what she gave me on Dracula and left the clinic when she started to fall asleep. I feel bad for her; she was on edge the whole time the twins were there, and I get it, she was waiting for them to badger her or torment her, so when they didn’t, it confused her. Now I am headed to her room in the orphanage to put her gift away for her. Which was something else that confused both her and me. They never give gifts, never. So why now? I got to her room and knocked on the door. “Who is it?” her roommate called out. “It’s Iesha, I need to put something away for Chiara.” I said. She came to the door and opened it for me. “Thanks.” “Yeah, no problem. How is she?” “Getting better, but her concussion was pretty bad this time.” I told her. “Yeah, it’s lucky she still has her head the way I heard they beat her.” I moved into the room and over to her bedside stand. “I hope something happens soon, or the next time they are going to end up   killing her the same way they killed Jace.” I said. “Did anybody try to help?” “I did go and tell the principal, but he just let it happen, then he called the medical team in.” I said. “Asshole.” “Yup.” I opened the drawer and tucked the box with the bracelet inside, and closed it. “I have to get going.” I said to Donna. She nods and walks behind me to the door, closing it behind me.

JAYDEN: I didn’t like seeing Chiara in that clinic bed. She looked, I don’t know, fragile or something. “Who put Chiara in the clinic this time? Do we know?” I asked Caiden. “I believe it was the girls.” He answered. “Then we need to remind them who runs this Pack, because she should not have been hurt so severely,” I say. “You are right, brother. She shouldn’t have. Only we have the right to hurt her like that. No one else does.” “So, what do we do about it?” “Make them apologize?" I asked. “I don’t think that will work. They need to understand that they cannot get away with unsanctioned punishments.” Caiden answers. “Then what do we do?” I asked. “Give them each a punishment that they will hate to do. That is the only way to make them understand they don’t just get to go off willy-nilly and do as they please.” He says to me.

CAIDEN: “I just wonder how many others, or how much more they did when we were gone.” I say to Jayden. “We will get Tara and Natalie to ask around for us.” He says. I nod in agreement. They can usually get information out of people without them realizing they are spilling their guts. “Did she seem, I don’t know, fragile to you?” “She is human, so she is more fragile than we are. But yeah, I didn’t like seeing her in that clinic bed.” “Nor I, brother, nor I. We will have to come up with their punishment so we can tell them tonight at the party.” Jayden says. “Yes indeed.” I linked both Tara and Nat. “I have a mission for the two of you. I want to know who all was involved in putting Chiara in the Clinic.” “I can answer that for you, alpha.” Natalie answered. “Who?” “It was Valen, the gamma twins, and Brandi.” “Can you tell me what happened? What started it?” “In truth, it was Valen, she called Chiara out, telling her that she had better make sure her dress was clean for the party tonight. Chiara did speak back to her, which set Valen off. But to Valen's defense, Chiara did speak,… not untruthfully, against the Luna.” “What did Chiara say against our mother?” “She just called Valen the Luna’s enforcer.” “Ah. What else?” “After 5th period, the 4 of them ganged her hard.” “Thank you, Natalie.” “You're welcome, Alpha.” I closed the link. “I just had a conversation with Natalie; it happened because Chiara called her the Luna’s enforcer.” I tell Jayden.

JAYDEN: “And that set her off? She is mother’s enforcer.” “True she is, but Chi did speak back. I think that is what set her off, more to the point.” “What was the whole thing about?” “Valen called her out, told her to make sure her dress was clean for tonight’s party.” “Well then, brother, I think we have Valen’s punishment; she will do her own laundry for the rest of the month with no help from anyone to get it done.” I tell Caiden. He nods his consent. “But what for the others? They have to learn there are checks and balances to be maintained.” Caiden stated. “I do agree, brother, but I have yet to come up with something suitable, but we have some time before the party tonight to think on it.” I said. He nods. “Let us go catch up with Vince and Chad and get their take on what maybe should be done about the girls. After all, they are their siblings.” I say. He nods, acknowledging my words.

CAIDEN: We went to our space, which is an old outbuilding that we took over as kids. It’s just our hangout space, party place, and office when needed.
