CAIDEN: “It won’t be long before we know everything he is using.” Jayden said.

VALEN: “To that end, who is getting us the sample?” I asked, looking at my brother. “Randy. Oh, by the way, Baston says good luck with Rolan. He didn’t get any punishment except to be expelled.” Vince said. “Is this training pack open to anyone, or just ranked and warriors?” I asked. “Don’t know, I didn’t ask that, and we don’t know how far Rolan got in his training before expulsion, either.” He said. “That would be nice to know, just in case we do have to bring him down.” Jayden said. “But if he is using his own stuff, wouldn’t it be easier?” Cassie asked. “Not necessarily, it depends on what exactly he is using in his pot. It’s a lot harder to bring down someone hyped up on meth than someone just high on pot.” Chad answers. “True, but do we even know how any of it affects us?” I asked. “Good point, Val.” Caiden said. “But either way, we will have to be diligent and watch the warriors for any signs of different behavior, anything out of the norm for that person.” Caiden said again. “That’s no small task.” Carri said. “I mean, we don’t know all of our warriors that personally, and no offense, but I don’t think that I want to either.” “Just keep your eyes open, and pay attention to the ones you do know. That’s all I’m saying.” Caiden said. We nodded. “Damn Brandi, your dad doesn’t pull punches, does he.” I said. Changing the subject. “No, he does not. And if he thinks you’re slacking off, he hits even harder.” She said. I nodded. “I am going to be sore tomorrow.” I said. It was her turn to nod. “And that is why he is our head warrior.” Jayden said.

CHAD: “To change the subject again, what are we planning for your birthday next week?” I asked the twins. “Pool party.” Jayden said. “Ok.” I answered. “Let's just hope that Rolan isn’t throwing another orgy, or we won’t have anybody there.” Caiden said. “Well, if he does, then I guess that’s when we'll go break up his little shindig and shut him down. I can honestly say that would be a great birthday gift, putting his ass in the cells with mother.” Jayden said. And we all chuckled.

JAYDEN: “Time to go, if there is nothing else?” I stated. They all shook their heads at me. “Oh, and remember, Brandi, windows closed unless you want to hear Rolan’s orgy all night.” I chuckled. She snarled at me, and I laughed. We all got up and headed out to our respective homes.

BRANDI: Walking home from the meeting, I kept my ears open. When I got to the house, I was hearing noises of a possible orgy going on, but it was at a farther distance than the party clearing. I linked the twins. “Jay, Caid, I am home, but the party isn’t in the clearing this time; it's farther away.” “We’ll check it in the morning, get some sleep.” “Copy.” I closed the link and went into the house and up to bed.

CHIARA: Sunday morning, and I was awake early. I didn’t sleep well; I was having dreams of the pups, one minute they were playing and chasing each other, and then they were fighting, not with each other, but together as a unit, but I couldn’t see who or what they were fighting. I know that I was only dreaming, because it didn’t have that real quality to it; it had that faded, fuzzy edging to it. But now that I was awake, I decided to get some schoolwork done. Reading through the chapters with an eye towards answering the chapter questions. I had been working on that for an hour before breakfast. And then Doctor Nathan came in to see me. “Good morning, Doctor.” “Good morning Chiara, how are you feeling today?” “I feel good, I am making it around the ward a couple of times in a row now before I have to take a break.” I tell him. “That is good news, glad to hear it. What about the rest? How are you doing with the rest of your therapy?” “I think I am getting stronger; I can pick up and hold three of my textbooks without too much trouble for over 10 minutes at a time now.” “That is excellent news. If you keep going like this, you will be able to be out either by or maybe before the Alphas’ birthday, which is what? about a week away now?” He asked, like he was surprised that it was here. I nodded at him. “I am going to take your vitals and chart them, and then I’ll let you get back to your schoolwork and therapy.” “Thank you, doctor.” “You’re welcome, Chiara.” He moved around me, taking my temp, pulse, blood pressure, and heart rate. And marking them all down in the chart he had with him, and then left.                                    87

CHIARA: I was in the middle of answering one of the questions when my door opened and Iesha came in. “Girlll! You are not going to believe this.” She said, drawing out the L. “What? What happened?” I asked her. “It’s crazy, but Mitch was outside my house most of the night last night.” “What?! That is crazy. Maybe the twins were right, and he does like you.” I said. “Then why not just come out and say it?” “Afraid of being ridiculed by the team. You know how jocks can be; they have to uphold the status quo.” I said. “Maybe.” “I have some good news.” “What?” “Doc said that if I keep going the way I am, I should be able to get out by or maybe before the twins’ birthday.” “Oh, Chiara! That is great news.” “Uh-huh.” I said nodding. “Esha, will you do me a favor?” “If I can.” I reached into the drawer where I kept the twins' necklaces. “Will you keep these safe for me? I want to make sure they stay intact, and I fear that they may get messed up the longer they stay here.” “Sure, I will take them when I leave today.” She said. Then she joined me in getting our work done…. I chuckled. “What’s so funny?” “Remember, it was just a couple of months ago, we were here and worried about our book report.” “Goddess Chi, that feels like it was ages ago.” She said. And I nodded. “Hey, do you think Mitch was high last night?” I asked. “I don’t know, couldn’t say, I didn’t go out, I just watched him from the window.” She answered. We worked up to lunch, and Bret came in. “Time for lunch now, and then you will have a round of therapy.” He said. “Ok.” “I will come back after you are done with your therapy Chi.” Esha said. Then she took the necklaces and left. I ate lunch and did my round of therapy with Bret today.

CAIDEN: I don’t know why, but I didn’t sleep well last night. Just kept tossing and turning all night.
