Alpha Twins' Mate's broken Human Chapter 126
CAIDEN: The fact that anybody got anything was a blessing. I looked at Jayden, and he was looking as relieved as I felt right now. But it also meant that we needed to revise the grid system that we had people working through. We would start it at the back of the Packhouse. And work our way out from there. So, we called a halt to the search for the rest of the day. We got the grids reworked and printed. So, we could hand them out in the morning to those who were helping us search for our mate and Luna. Mother be damned.
JAYDEN: I couldn’t help myself. I wrapped Iesha up in a bear hug. I know that Chad was not happy with it. I will give him extra time with her once we find Chi, to make up for it. Calling a halt to the search for the rest of the day went against everything in me, but I know it’s the right call, so that we can restructure our search grids, give the searchers a rest, so they can come back fresh, with fresh eyes as well. When we get Chi back, we are going to find a place just for us. I don’t care, it can be in her building if it makes her feel comfortable, as long as we are together, that’s all I want. And mother can go fuck herself. I don’t care what she wants. My brother and I will be keeping our mate. I linked the rest of our ranked group and headed to our office space to revise the search grid for tomorrow. I don’t even want to go back into the Packhouse, because I don’t want to see mother, I don’t want to hear mother’s voice, I don’t want anything to do with that woman right now. I am shaking, I am so pissed at her. After we complete the search grids and have them printed. I tell Caiden that I am going to Chi’s place. I need her scent to calm me. “Let's go, brother.” Caiden answers.
VINCE: I go with the guys; I don’t want to leave them alone in the state of mind that they are in, and with Chad having his mate now, it wouldn’t be fair to him to make him go with them to keep them from spiraling. So, I will go with them. When we get to her apartment building, the twins buzz the manager’s apartment first.
CAIDEN: We buzzed the manager first. We wanted to know if he had any bigger units to rent out for us to look at. “Yeah?” Came the manager’s gruff voice. “We’re here to ask if you have a large one-bedroom to rent?” I said into the intercom. “I’ll be right out.” He said. And we waited until he opened the door and saw who was standing there. “Alphas!” he gasped at us. “SShh, secret remember?” I said. “Y-Y- yes, sirs.” He whispered then. I just had to chuckle at him. “Lead the way.” I said. He took us up to the 4th floor and opened one of only four doors on this floor. Jayden, Vince, and I walked into the space. It was nice, open, and roomy. We checked out the kitchen, which was a full-sized kitchen with a dishwasher, full sized refrigerator, a stove, and lots of storage cabinets. It also had an eat-in breakfast nook. So far, I was liking what I was seeing.
JAYDEN: I walked down the hallway to check out the bedroom and bathroom. I liked the size of the bedroom; it would accommodate our custom-made bed, but we would have to share closet space. I think we can handle that. The bathroom was a little small for my taste. It would work, though. There were two other rooms that we could make into whatever we wanted them to be, which was good, because one would be Chi’s work studio, and the other one could be our office. The only thing left was the price. We didn’t care about it for ourselves, but if we spent too much on it, Chi would never forgive us, and we weren’t about to let that happen, considering we already had enough to make up for. I walked back into the front living space, where Caiden was already negotiating the price of it.
CAIDEN: “What’s your name?” I asked the manager. “Mike, Mike Jenkins.” He says and offers his hand to me. I shake hands with him. “Well, Mike, see, we want to surprise our mate, she’s the one who lives downstairs in the efficiency. Now, I know, we screwed up, and we are in the doghouse, so to speak. But we are hoping that this will help get us out of it.” I tell him. “How’d you end up in the doghouse, if you don’t mind my asking?” “Not that I’m trying to be nosy, mind, but it will help me not to make the same screw up. If you get me.” He said. “Oh, I very much get you, but we screwed up in so many ways that there are too many to count or list.” I said. “Oh, that is bad.” He said. I nodded. “So, we want to rent the apartment, and we want to move her things in before she comes home. Do you think you can help us out?” I asked him. “I surely can, but I do need to have proof that she truly is your mate before I can just let you into her place.” He tells us. “What kind of proof would you need?” I asked him. I’m actually impressed that he didn’t just go open her door to let us in right then and there. “Well, some kind of eyewitness to the fact. I mean, I know that you’re not marked and mated yet, because there wasn’t any announcement made. But someone from both sides who will vouch for you, to say you are actually mates. And you said before she comes home? Where did she go? I got the impression that she didn’t have any family.” He said. “No, she doesn’t, just my brother and I as her mates, but her best friend can vouch for us.” I tell him. “You may have seen her, she is about 5’6”, light to medium light brown skin, warm brown eyes, and shoulder-length loose ring curls.” I describe Iesha to him. “Yeah! I do remember her. She and her dad helped your mate move in.” He said. “Yes, just one of the many ways we screwed up.” I tell him. “Ahh!” he exclaims, nodding his head like he knew exactly what I was talking about. “Vince, here is our Beta; he can vouch for us as well.” I tell him. Yes, I know I am not answering his question about where she went, I can’t. I would lose it if I told him the truth of the matter. He turned to look at Vince. “I need you to swear on your Beta rank that they are telling me the truth.” He says to Vince. “I swear by the goddess, and my rank, that the Alpha twins are Chiara’s mates.”
