Alpha Twins' Mate's broken Human Chapter 58

CAIDEN: But we came out on top. My brother and I were pissed to say the least, was he trying to get us killed? I know that we just had a major fight, but now with the extra spike in adrenaline, we needed to burn it off and the anger with it.

JAYDEN: After that fight, all four of us just stared at Dad and the Beta. We were all pissed, and we all walked off the training field and headed to the gym in the Pack house to work on the punching bags. Ours were reinforced with Kevlar fabric so it could withstand our punches a bit better than an average bag. But even with that, I think we all broke two bags apiece.  None of us wanted to be anywhere near our fathers right now because we just might go off the deep end on them for doing that to us. But once I calmed down some. I posed the question. “Did anybody else smell a slightly sweet, yet spicy smell?” “I did.” Caiden answered. “No.” Came from both Vince and Chad. “If I find out that they did try to pull something to beat us, I will not hesitate to beat them bloody for it.” I said. And the rest of them nodded. “I need to go and find out what happened with the test the girls had run. It will keep me away from blowing up at father.” I said. “Agreed.” Caiden replied. He was as pissed as I was. “It’s getting late, though; we may have to wait until dinner to find out about that test.” Chad said. I checked the time, and he was right, it was getting close to dinner. “Let’s all go get cleaned up, we’ll meet up in the dining hall, and then we’ll ask the girls about the test.” Caiden said. We all just nodded and went our separate ways.  

DERRIC: I know the boys are angry with me right now. And that’s ok, because now they know what kind of fear they instilled into the Pack members with their behavior. Not knowing if they would be the next ones to get beaten up. So yes, I did it on purpose. But I did it with a cause. I was also watching Rolan rather closely. I wanted to see if he would cheat, which is why I paired Chad with him. I didn’t want him dead if he did, and I know the twins would have taken his head if he did try to cheat, if I had paired him up with either one of them. But I knew Chad would handle it better, and put him on his ass without hesitation for cheating. I did notice that he did try to pull a couple of stunts, but I was right. Chad took them in stride, but then, when Rolan thought he had gotten away with them, Chad put him down. I was happy with what I saw today, all the way around. The boys, even though they are pissed at me, were able to adapt to the situation and were still able to defeat their opponents’ wolf counterparts without being able to shift themselves. That’s a huge plus in our world. I am proud of the boys for that.

VALEN: After getting the test done, we girls went home to get some homework done and some training in. I was still trying to figure out how Cas, Car, and Iesha all had anise on their backpacks. Because, as Iesha said, the only place they all have in common is school. And if it was there, why was it just the three of them, why not others, I mean, more than just them? It was a conundrum. I had been working on our indoor obstacle course, trying to put the pieces together. When Brandi came in and joined me. “What’s got you so preoccupied?” “Something Iesha said when I took her backpack to her.” “What did she say?” “The only place that the twins and she have in common is school, but if it happened in school, then why weren’t more people affected?” “Unless it happened in one specific class, do they have any classes with each other?” “I don’t know, we will have to ask them at dinner.” And Brandi nodded. We ran the course a couple more times, then went home to clean up for dinner in the Pack house dining hall with everyone else.

BRANDI: The atmosphere in the dining hall was jovial for the most part, but Jaden and Caiden were in a foul mood. “Training not go too well?” I asked them. “We’ll tell you later.” Caiden answered rather tersely. “Okay..” “What did you find out?” Caiden asked. “Both the twins and Iesha had anise on their backpacks, where and how is the mystery that we are trying to answer at the moment. Because, as Iesha commented to Valen earlier, the only place they have in common is school.” “And if it was at school, then why not more cases?” Valen said as she came and sat down. The boys nodded. “We thought that unless they have a class together.” Valen added. “We are just waiting to ask them.” I said. As the Gamma clan joined us. “What’s the topic of discussion?” Chad asked. “Cas, Car, do the two of you have any classes with Iesha?” “No, we are down the same hall for a couple of our classes, but not in them. Why?” “We were just trying to figure out how the three of you came into contact with anise, and nobody else, considering the only place that the three of you have in common is school.” Valen said. “Not completely true.” Vince said. “How so?” I asked. “Temple.” Vince answered. “Yeah, ok. Temple. But other than those two, nothing else.” I said. The group as a whole nodded.

CAIDEN: “So, if not school, or temple, maybe it was an incident that happened?” “That could be.” Chad said. “Iesha did say that Mitch stopped her on her way home from school on Monday, and that he was high.” Vince said. “Yeah, and we got stopped by Trent and Zane. And they were high.” Cassie added. “Did the guys get close enough to you to touch you?” I asked. “Yeah.” Carri answered. “I think that it came from them, whether intentional or by the fact that it rubbed off from them from whatever they smoked, ingested, or inhaled, the residue came off on you three.” I said. “Ok, that makes sense.” Cassie said. “So, what does this stuff smell like?” Jayden asked. “It’s slightly sweet and stimulatingly spicy at the same time, like licorice. Why? Brandi asked. Because both Steven and Simon had a similar smell about them today at training.” I said. “Do you think they may have been high?” Valen asked. “No, father would kick their asses ten ways to holy day if he thought they were. But the shit was messing with our heads at training today.” I answered. “Um, I hate to throw cold water on things, but we need to go check the party clearing. Make sure it’s cleaned after the pack party on Monday.”
