Alpha Twins' Mate's broken Human Chapter 84
CHIARA: No, that can’t be possible, it’s clearly in the group from the orphanage, how can that be possible? That they would accept anything from us like that. No, I must have heard that wrong. That’s all. They made it through all the larger gifts, but still hadn’t opened the necklaces. And dinner was over; I would have to start my duties soon. My anxiety was rising with every passing minute. ‘Come on, open the damn necklaces!’ I was practically screaming it in my head. It was the second-to-last gift they opened. The necklaces were just slightly bigger around than a silver half dollar. I wrapped them in regular printer paper that I decorated. The minute that the pendants were revealed, they actually put them on, I was shocked to say the least. They have never shown that they appreciated anything that any of us ever gave them. But then again, the Luna was always present when they opened their gifts. I can’t help but smile; they looked good. But now I had to get to work. I turned to look at Iesha. “They are actually wearing them.” I whispered to her. She, too, was shocked to see them put on the necklaces I made. “I have to get to work now.” I said as I stood up and started to gather up the paper plates and the glasses, and the eating utensils. I put the plates and glasses in the garbage, and took the utensils into the kitchen to be washed. Once I had the majority of the pool area cleaned from dinner, I started with the pack dining hall to get that cleaned up as well. Then I started washing the dishes, and everybody left me alone in the kitchen, and they continued to enjoy the party. I didn’t mind at all. I was glad to be doing something. And being kept busy. The Twins had set up and started a drinking game. I had to go out and make the rounds again to pick up any leftover serving dishes and utensils, and I heard some of the comments made by some of the pack members. “Look how ugly she is.” “How can she dare show those ugly scars here?” “She’s nothing but trash.” I ignored them; the fact of the matter is, I was used to hearing how they talked about me. But usually, it was spearheaded by the luna and the ranked squad, but today it was just them, by themselves, but they were the ranked squad’s girlfriends, so I am not surprised in the least. I had just finished throwing the last of the plastic dessert plates away. When I felt a push come from behind and from my left side. And into the pool I went. Damn, it was cold. Now I am going to have to finish my kitchen duty in wet clothes. Because the cook isn’t going to let me go change. But the splash and Iesha’s shriek calling out my name drew the attention of all 8 of the ranked squad. And while the girls were standing there laughing, Valen, Brandi, Cassie, and Carri came over and pushed the girls in. I hurried over to the side of the pool and got out as quickly as I could. I wasn’t about to stay in there with the 4 of them and have them try and kill me, because Valen and company dumped their asses in the brink. “Chi are you ok?” I heard Iesha ask. “Yeah, but now I’m going to be in trouble with the cook.” I said. “Why would you be in trouble with the cook?” I heard Jayden’s voice come from behind me. I hadn’t realized that they had come over to us, and I jumped, almost landing myself back in the pool if it weren’t for Caiden, who caught me and kept me from going in again. “Because I will be dripping water all over the kitchen floor. I have to finish my chores, and I can’t go change.” I said. I watched as their eyes glazed over, so I know they were linking each other. But I didn’t care, I had work to do. Brandi handed me a towel; I took it from her with a soft “Thank you.” Wrapped it around my waist and proceeded with my work. Gathering the last of the dishes that needed to be washed, I headed into the kitchen with the sounds of an argument starting between the ranked squad and their girlfriends. I shook my head and started washing the things that wouldn’t fit in the dishwasher. It was almost 11 when I was finally done. And the party was still going strong out by the pool. But the girls were no longer being handsy with the guys. Some were still making out in shadowed corners, mind you, but nothing like what had happened earlier. I was pretty much dry by the time I was done, so I dropped the towel down the laundry shoot that was just inside the back door of the Pack house. And headed back to my room.
JAYDEN: Once Chi was out of sight, I grabbed my girlfriend by the arm and dragged her with me back to the table where we had the drinking game set up. “If you ever lay another hand on her again, you will find yourself in the dungeon! Got it!” I seethed in her face. “What’s got into you? You never cared before.” Sue spat back. “Mother was wrong, and if any of us had just stopped and tried putting ourselves in her place, we would have realized it sooner. We are the ranked wolves; we are here to protect the pack, which means the whole entire pack, not being picky and choosy about who gets saved. And you need to understand that!” I said.
CAIDEN: When I saw Sue, Lisa, Whitney, and Terri standing over by the pool laughing, I almost lost it right there on the spot. I know the rest of the guys did too. I don’t know about the others, but Terri was getting a bit too clingy for my taste. I grabbed her and pulled her with me. “If you so much as look at Chiara wrong, we are done!” I said tersely. “Caiden, we were only having a bit of fun; you never minded before.” ‘Terri cooed at me, thinking that it would soothe me, but it didn’t. “I have learned my lesson. As ranked wolves, we are here to protect the entire pack, not just our friends and family members. If that is all we did, what kind of alphas would that make us? Humm?” I asked her through gritted teeth. She didn’t answer. “Exactly, that would mean that your sister would get left out, because I can’t stand her. But a good Alpha protects everyone. Think on that, before you go and decide next time that you want to pick on someone just because everybody else is.” I said to her. I walked away and left her standing there looking dumbfounded. I went back to join the rest of the group at the table. I saw Jayden and the rest of the guys
