Alpha Twins' Mate's broken Human Chapter 5
CHIARA: When I wake up, I am back in the clinic. How the hell did I get back here? I need to get out of here. I check the IV and it’s almost empty. Damn, they must have given me another sedative. Shit. Well, it can’t be helped now. I have to leave. I look around the room, it’s smaller than the one I was in before. Great, no roommates. I think sarcastically. Well, I guess someone may have caught on. I will see if I can expedite the healing then, by pretending to be worse than I am, so they give more, then I can make a miraculous recovery and get the hell out of here and back to my room. Let's just hope that the Alpha’s blood can work magic. I get up and go to the door. I peek out to see if anyone is in the hallway. Nope, the coast is clear. I sneak out and check some of the other nearby rooms. There are a couple that have people in them. So, I sneak in and again switch out the bag. Take the empty one and get back to my room. Once I am settled, I ring the nurse’s station. “Yes?” “I just wanted to let you know that my IV is done.” I say. Then I wait. When the nurse comes in to check on me. I asked her, “How did I get back here?” “Bret brought you back.” “Why?” “Alpha’s orders.” “What? That doesn’t make sense, since when did he care about what happens to an orphan?” I asked. “I wouldn’t know; that is something you will have to take up with him.” The nurse said. “Now I have to give you another sedative.” She tells me. I don’t want it, but I have no choice. “Is it possible to get my backpack? I have homework.” I tell my attendant. “We will contact the home and see if someone will bring it to you.” She says. “But for now, you must rest.” I nod. FLASHBACK: 6-year-old me in the park on the swings, it was temple day, so no chores, but it wasn’t time to get ready for the celebration yet. It was a warm day, and I had gone to the park to play until it was time to get ready for the celebration. Sitting on the swings, I saw them, the warriors, when they brought him in. I thought that he looked nice. He was older than me. I watched as they took him to see the Alpha. I remember thinking, I hope he has people and that he isn’t going to be stuck here like me. Then the Ranked Squad hit, and I was back in the clinic with a bloody nose. END FLASHBACK: I rub my thumb over the braided bracelet and drift off to sleep.
IESHA: I heard what had happened last night. I left for school early so I could go get Chiara’s backpack for her. I wasn’t able to take it to her, but I was able to stash it. So, after school, I could take it to her, along with the day's assignments. School was a complete chaotic mess; everyone was buzzing about the twins coming home. I didn’t care one way or the other because all they ever did was cause my friend problems. They singled her out more than anybody else that they picked on, and they let everybody else pick on her as well; sometimes, they encouraged it. Lunch was completely crazy. Valen was throwing a complete hissy fit because her clothes weren’t done right, and she was going to tell the Luna to punish the omega who did them. I guess Chiara was right about that. But I just kept my head down and ignored them as best as I could. When the last bell rang, I made a mad dash for my locker. I grabbed the books I needed for my homework and Chi’s backpack and left for the clinic. When I got there, I had to ask where they put her, because she wasn’t in the room she had been in. They direct me to her new room.
CHIARA: “What were you thinking?” Esha scolds me when she comes in. “I’m sorry, I just needed to get away from here, from them, if I’m in my room, they don’t, or won’t bother me. If I’m here, they can get to me.” I say. “They are less likely to do anything to you with you here than if you were anywhere else. If you’re here, it means that someone has already done something to you; they aren’t going to compound that.” Esha says. “I wouldn’t bet on it.” I say. “Remember, they did hurt Jace, and that was after they had already sent him here. It wasn’t enough that they gave him a bloody nose and a black eye; they had to concuss him as well.” I reminded her. “That was one time, and it was an accident. They didn’t mean to push him into the medical equipment; he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.” She says. “They shouldn’t have been messing around in here. What reason did they have for being here?” I asked. “I believe it was something to the effect that Valen had cut her hand.” She answers. “How convenient. One of the ranked squad gets hurt, so they could come to torment him even more.” I say. “No one is going to convince me otherwise. And no amount of them apologizing will change how I feel.” I tell her. “I know, and I wouldn’t try.” She says. “Hey, to change the subject. The Alpha made the staff come find me.” I tell her. And watch her face as I tell her. “What?” “I know. Right? Since when?” “Maybe because the twins are coming home?” “It’s never mattered before.” “Maybe he is finally taking all those cards you made him seriously.” “He doesn’t know they were from me. And I highly doubt that he even looked at those cards. They probably just used them for starting the fires with, after the parties were over.” I said to her. “That would be bad luck, especially if you invoked the moon goddess’s name.” “Well, I would put, “may the goddess bless you.” In every card I made him.” “Didn’t you sign your name to any of them?” “No, I didn’t want to get into trouble with some of the things I put in them.” I told her. “Like what?” “Like, “YOUR LUNA HATES US. SHE THINKS WE ARE A WASTE OF SPACE AND RESOURCES.” May the goddess bless you, happy birthday. Then I would fold it in half and put it in the envelope with everyone else's. Or I would put “YOUR LUNA HATES US. IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE THAT, PICK TWO PEOPLE AND PAY ATTENTION TO THEM. IF AFTER THE PROM/PARTY THEY AREN’T IN THE CLINIC, THEN THEY WILL BE BEATEN AND BRUISED.” May the goddess bless you. Happy Birthday. So, no, I never did sign my name to them.” I tell her. . “Thank you for bringing my backpack. I really am sorry; I didn’t mean to upset you.” I tell her.
