Alpha Twins' Mate's broken Human Chapter 13
DERRIC: "I don’t want you to interfere in any of it. I don’t want them pointing at you and saying you helped.” “Understood. I can help.” “Thank you, Blake.” “Welcome, Alpha.” “Thank you, Guy. Have a good night.” “Welcome, Alpha, and you as well.” I nodded at Benton. “Thanks, Guy. Good night.” Benton tells his brother. “Night, Benton.” The call disconnected. “Thanks, Benton. I appreciate your help with this. But remember not a word to the kids about this. They can’t know if I am going to get to the truth.” “Yes, Alpha, you have my word.” I nod at him as he leaves my office. I linked the head doctor. “Sorry to bother you, Nathan, but can you tell me when Chiara can get discharged?” “We are sending her for a scan in the morning, which will tell us more about how her concussion is healing.” “Ok, thanks, Nathan, please keep me informed, and not a word to the Luna. Yes, I have my reasons.” “Yes, Alpha.” I close the link.
JAYDEN: Our welcome home party is in full swing. I link my brother. “Time to let them get happy, and then dump the cold water on them as it were.” “Copy that.” I call the girls over to the couch. “Valen, Cassie, Carri, Brandi, come join us.” I watched as the girls came over and sat down, interspersed among us. “We have the targets for next weekend.” Caiden says. “Who?” Cassie asked. “Brandon, and Chiara.” I tell them as I watch their faces. Valen seems a bit over ecstatic, hearing that Chiara is the target. “But, as Chiara is in the clinic right now with no exact discharge date, there have to be consequences, paid for that.” I said. Again, I watched their faces. From pure joy one minute to Oh Shit! The next. “What do we have to do?” Valen asked.
CAIDEN: “You, Valen, will do your own laundry for the rest of the month, with no help. As for the other three of you, you will clean the common areas of the Pack house without help from the omegas for the rest of the month. I want you to know that you do not get to go off, willy-nilly, and dish out punishments as you deem fit. If she was disrespectful, then inform us, and we will assess the punishment. Because now we don’t know if she will be out by next weekend, due to the severity of her concussion, and therefore we won’t have her as our target.” I watch Valen especially when I said that. “She was disrespectful to the Luna!” Valen said a bit harshly. “What did she say?” “She would never talk back to the Luna’s enforcer, goddess forbid.” “But Valen, you are Mom’s enforcer. She spoke the truth; you may not have liked her tone, or maybe the way she said it, or the fact that she said it at all, but she only spoke the truth.” Jayden said. “It did not merit the beating the four of you gave her.” I said a bit sternly. Matching Valen’s harshness with my sternness.
JAYDEN: All four girls were sullen after Caiden’s words; they knew they had screwed up. “Go back to the party.” I told them. Caiden, Vince, Chad, and I watched as the girls went back to the rest of the group that had been invited to this little welcome home gathering. “I was thinking, we should build an arcade in town.” Vince said once the girls were out of earshot. “Where did this come from?” I asked him. “I was in Hollow Moon Pack, and they have this huge arcade, which can work two or even three-fold for us.” “How so?” Caiden asked. “It will open more jobs in the pack, it will give the teens somewhere to go to let off steam, and a source of income for them if they chose, and if we put in the right games, they can help with balance and eye-hand coordination; other games can help with math, the list could be endless, we just have to figure out what would be the best games to incorporate.” Vince tells us. I like the idea. I look to my brother and nod. “We will have to run it by father; otherwise, it will be a while before it comes to fruition.” Caiden says. Again, I nod.
CHAD: “Enough talk, we are here to have fun and welcome you back home our way, time to go join the girls and the rest of the group. Let off a little steam ourselves.” I tell them. “Do you think we were unfair or unjust in our punishment of the girls?” Jayden asked me. “No, but I think you should add early morning training to them as well, but that’s just me.” I said. “Why?” “Just to get them completely exhausted, so that they will think twice, and remember this as their punishment for going off script.” I said. “We’ll see.” He answers me.
CHIARA: After breakfast Sunday morning, the image tech comes in and takes me for another scan, to see if my concussion is better. Fingers crossed, I will be able to get out of here. I was taken back to my room to wait for the results. But lunch came before the results did. Lunch was a turkey club sandwich with juice. It was very good, the turkey wasn’t dry or anything, very tasty. The doctor came in after lunch was cleared away. “I will let you out today, but if you take another blow to your head, you will be in here a lot longer next time. Do I make myself clear?” “Yes, doctor.” I replied, knowing full well that I would eventually end up back here; it’s inevitable with Valen’s temper. I gathered my things and headed back to the orphanage. I climbed the stairs and went straight to my room. “Hi Donna. I’m out of the clinic.” I said as I entered our room. “Hey, glad to see you made it through. After your little stunt.” She said as a welcome back. “Yeah, sorry about that, didn’t mean to cause you any stress.” I said. “It’s cool, no harm, no foul.” “Thanks. Have you been able to find a place to stay yet?” I asked her. “Yeah, actually, I did. There is an open room at the boarding house that I took, and I have a job at the diner, so you will probably be getting a new roomie soon.” “Yea, me.” “Hey, you won’t be here for much longer yourself, you know.” “True, the rank squad could end me tomorrow.” I said. “That’s not what I meant, and you know it.” “Doesn’t matter, it could still happen.” “Chi, you've got to let Jace go; everyone there that night said it was an accident.” “And was it an accident that you ended up in the clinic for over a week because they beat you so badly the same night? Sorry, I don’t buy their story. And I will always blame them for Jace being dead.” I said. She just took a deep sigh, she knows how I feel, and that there is nothing that will change my mind on the matter.
