I didn’t want to get another lecture from the twins about not being the Luna, so I refrained from saying that. “I have a book report due, so I think we should get going.” I said. I hate it. Feeling like I’m stuck, like I’m supposed to be this powerful Luna, and I can’t even stand up for myself. I think I will ask if I can join the new recruit warriors; maybe that will help me build the confidence I will need to be Luna. And help Thena in a fight if it comes down to it again. I just hate feeling helpless. We got up to leave the Alpha’s office. The twins headed for the front stairs without a second thought. I just followed them. “YOU THINK YOU CAN REPLACE ME? YOU DON’T HAVE THE STOMACH TO DO WHAT I DO, YOU LITTLE BITCH!!” The luna yelled as we were headed to the door. She came at me from the side. Her claws extended, like she was going to rake me across the face and chest. Thena came forward before I even had a chance to react. She side-stepped the luna and bit down on the Luna’s arm with her canines fully extended. “You'd better tell your mother not to struggle against me, or she will lose her arm; I will bite it off.” She linked the twins. “STOP! Why can you never listen to us, mother?” Caiden seethed at her. “Thena, please let her go.” Jayden spoke to Thena softly. She growled in response. “Thena? Who the hell is Thena? You need to get this bitch off of me.” The Luna screamed. Thena shook the Luna’s arm hard with her statement. “OW! Get her off of me!” “Thena is Chiara’s wolf. And you have just pissed her off. Along with both Axle and Steel. They are both angry at the fact that you have disrespected them and their mate.” Caiden said. “FATHER! You need to come and take care of your mate before she loses an arm!” Jayden called out. Hearing Jaden’s call, the Alpha came to the head of the stairs and took in the scene. “STOP! Louise, enough!” We all felt the command in his voice. “Thena, it’s ok, you can let her go now, she won’t hurt Chiara, I promise.” He said. Thena let go of the Luna’s arm then. The twins and their ranked unit surrounded me. Thena walked backwards to the door, not taking her eyes off the Luna until we were outside.  

CAIDEN: “Thena, let Chi come forward; she is safe.” I said once we were outside. We all watched as Thena receded and Chi came forward. “Until she either accepts me or the Alpha can take her somewhere else, I will never be safe with her here.” Chi said. “We will figure something out, I promise you.” I tell her. “But let's get your book report and get it turned in.” I say. She nods. I can see she is still shaking from the confrontation with mother. Both my brother and I place our arms around her, in hopes that the bond will help calm her.

LOUISE: I couldn’t believe my ears! My own mate used his command on me! “DERRIC! HOW COULD YOU! You’re taking that good-for-nothing’s side against me?” I seethed at him. “RELEASE ME!” I yelled. “Not until I’m sure that you are not going to go after them, and try to hurt Chi. She is their goddess-given mate. We have always told the boys that they need to accept their mate, that she will make them stronger. And in Chiara’s case, it’s more than making them stronger; it’s a case of teaching them and her lessons that many of the rest of us forgot, or didn’t have to go through. Of forgiveness. Which you yourself also need to learn. So, no, Louise, you need to calm down before I will release you.” He says. Calm down he says. I swear by the goddess, I am going to kill that bitch now. And I will find a more suitable mate for the twins at the mate ball.

DERRIC: I stood at the top of the stairs, and I waited, a good 10 minutes, then I released Louise. But I knew by then that the boys would have Chiara long gone, and Louise wouldn’t be able to go after them. I hated doing it, but until I can figure out why Louise is the way she is, I will have to keep an eye on her so that she doesn’t go after Chi. Thank the goddess that we only have two more days before graduation, maybe by then she will be so busy with the preparations for the graduation that she will forget about Chiara. I return to my office and my work.

LOUISE: I don’t normally do things like this, but he has me so pissed off right now that I really don’t care. I call Hayley, Betty, and Lorane. “We are going on a shopping spree on Derric.” I tell them. I grab the black card, and Simon as our driver. Alpha command me! I will show him in more ways than one. After his little stunt, he will be buying both Simon and Rolan new Louis Vuitton suits, and the rest of us at least three, if not more Hout Couture dresses each. Let's see how he likes that! Asshole. CHIARA: After we got my book report turned in, the guys took me grocery shopping to replace what they ate a couple of days ago. … Thursday and Friday, I settled into my new routine. Taking in the new inventory of buttons, zippers, threads, and other notions, and getting them put into the computer. Then, getting the finished garments and accessories to the post office for shipping, or if they were close, I would deliver them myself. My hours are 8- 3, but the manager allowed me to get off a little early on Friday for the graduation commencement, which starts at 3:30, and the Luna has the BBQ set to start at 6. I already had a bag packed and ready to go. So all I have to do is grab it and get to the school. I have no intention of going to the BBQ. I will just come home and work on my thread painting. I like how it’s turning out so far. I think it looks good.  “Oh, thank the goddess, Chi, I thought that you weren’t going to make it on time! Come on, we have to get you changed.” Iesha said as she grabbed my hand and led me to where everyone was getting ready. The whole class was called to order, and we took our places. It’s no surprise that Valen made valedictorian, and she actually had a very inspiring speech for the graduating class. Too bad it took her 7 years to get to this point. Oh well. I got the biggest surprise of my life, well, next to being mated to the twins that is.
