Alpha Twins' Mate's broken Human Chapter 40
JAYDEN: so she could feel it. When I did, I could have sworn her hand moved, as if to hold it. “It’s ok, Chi, it will be kept safe for you. I promise.” I whispered to her. I put it back in the envelope and closed it with the string. I held on to it until my time was up. When I walked out, I handed the envelope to the nurse who was at the desk. “Put this in a safe place for her.” I told the nurse. “Yes, Alpha.” And I left to go back to training.
IESHA: I almost got into serious trouble thanks to Jayden. My teacher thought I was cheating on a pop quiz he gave us. It took me a good 10 minutes to convince him that Alpha Jayden was linking me. I had to explain why he would link me. Explain about Chiara’s bracelet. I tried to get him to link the Alpha himself to find out, but he wouldn’t. Why, I don’t know. However, he finally relented, and I was allowed to continue my quiz and work. It was weird having the Alpha in my head. And acting like we were all buddy-buddy, I don’t get them, and they still scare me. I am always on my guard at school to make sure that I stay as far away from them as possible. I make sure that I stay behind them by at least half a hall length, and I keep my head down. So, it was a bit jarring when Jayden was suddenly there in my head, talking to me. I was startled by it, to say the least.
DERRIC: We are halfway through April already. I will need to find out if Chi can just graduate, considering we don’t know if or when she will come out of her coma. And I don’t want to have to make her retake the whole year over. I link Henry. “Henry, what are Chiara’s grades like?” I asked him. “She is holding a B average, Alpha. Why do you ask?” “Because with her in a coma right now, and not knowing if or when she may come out of it, I don’t want to have to put her through her senior year all over. I was hoping that we could just pass her.” I tell him. “I will check with her teachers, but I don’t foresee a problem with it. They may ask that she take a test to test out, but she should be able to do that, no problem, when she wakes up.” “Thank you, Henry.” I close the link and leave my office to get back to training the kids. As I am in the middle of another math problem with the boys, a thought comes to me. “Vance, Shannon, and Misha will have to step up and plan the goddess’s celebration of the Flower Moon.” I tell him. “Without the Luna?” “Yes, without the Luna. She is refusing to clean the cells. So, until she does, she is not getting out.” “I will let Misha know, and let Shannon know as well.” “Thank you. I know that it’s a bit of short notice, but hey, at least it’s not completely last-minute.” I say with a chuckle. He chuckles back. After lunch, I head back to my office to make that phone call. The call is picked up by the second ring. “Alpha Nikk here.” Came a deep voice. “Alpha Nikk, this is Alpha Derric. I have a Pack member who wishes to transfer to your Pack. He claims that he has family there.” “Who is his kin?” “Mike Stien.” “How old is the person in question?” “Soon to be 18.” “I will talk to Mike and get back to you by dinner.” “Thank you, Alpha Nikk.” “Thank you for calling.” And we both hang up.
HAYLEY: Goddess, I am so bored. I thought that Louise was supposed to be helping teach me how to be a luna. But she has been MIA since we got here. And then that fiasco with Valen, Brandi, and the Gamma twins. I just want to go home. Rolan isn’t much help either. Goddess knows what he is up to. All I know is that I don’t want to be part of his schemes anymore, especially with the temper that Valen has. She’s a bitch, acting almost like an Alpha female instead of the beta she is. Someone is going to put her in her place someday, and I hope I get to see it, because I will be the first one to rub it in her face. I think I will go to the clinic and hang out with the girl in the coma, at least I won’t be getting into trouble with her. I am curious about her, though I do wonder what happened to her. And if all those posters are of her, who did all that to her? And why are the ranked wolves spending 30 minutes a day, every day with her, like they are standing as sentinels over her? I doubt I will ever know the full truth, like Brandi said, they dealt with her because of Louise, but what exactly did that mean? I went to the library in the Pack house to find a book to take with me to read. I found some first editions of some of the classics. I chose Black Beauty. I like horses, so why not? I took the book and headed to the clinic. No one was there when I got there. So, I made myself comfortable in the chair that was there. “Hi, I know that you don’t know me, but I thought that I would come keep you company. My name is Hayley, by the way. Nobody has told me your name, so I don’t know it, sorry. But I hope you like horse stories. I have Black Beauty here.” I said to her. I opened the book and proceeded to read aloud to her.
CAIDEN: At 2:20 pm. I took my leave of our group so I could go stand my vigil. I heard a voice coming from Chi’s room as I got closer. School wasn’t out yet, so it couldn’t be Iesha or any of the girls. Who the hell was in her room? I pushed the door open and stopped in my tracks. Hayley was sitting in Esha’s chair, reading to Chi like they were best friends. “Why are you here?” I asked her. “Because no one seems to want me around, I was supposed to be learning how to be a luna from Louise, but she is MIA. And after that whole Valen issue, I don’t really want to be here anymore, so I thought the best way for me to stay out of trouble was to come and spend time with the comatose girl. At least she isn’t going to get mad at me and take my head off.” She stated. “Yeah, umm, about Valen, sorry about that. We are all under punishment. And the comatose girl’s name is Chiara. And as for learning how to be a luna, you are better off learning it from whatever books
