HAYLEY: and the mate ball that she wants to throw. I don’t trust her motives for anything, but right now, I don’t have a choice, as my parents think that I need to stay here and learn from Louise. Ha, if they only knew. But that was the thing they didn’t. And any time I tried to talk with them, she was always lurking close by, so I couldn’t tell them anything. So, I took my spot back at the clinic so that I had something to do while I waited. I helped where she said I needed to, and I did what she said I had to do, but in between times, I tried to stay out of her way. I noticed that she seemed to be wandering aimlessly around the Pack on Saturday, so I followed her, keeping my distance. I didn’t want to get in trouble, but I didn’t trust her either. She went from the orphanage to some place behind the Packhouse, and she disappeared for a short time. I don’t know where she went, so I waited, and when she reappeared and headed back to the Packhouse, I went to investigate where she had gone. But I couldn’t see anything. But I took a mental note of the place, because you never know with her. After I followed her around the Pack, I headed towards the clinic. I was going to grab something to eat in the cafeteria there and then start my volunteer shift.

JAYDEN: Chi was right about the fact that we should be training. I linked Dad. “Dad, I know that we need to train, but we needed to see Chi after Mother’s confrontations yesterday, and she overdid things against the doctor’s orders, so the four of us are taking the weekend to look after her. The doc said no exertion for the weekend. And she moved out of the orphanage.” “The doctor did mention to me about her not being in the rotation until she got stronger.” “Yeah, about that, Miss Blair told us that she found a part-time job, so she may not be back to the Packhouse, and right now, with the situation with mother being what it is, I think that just might be a good thing, you know, out of sight, out of mind.” “All right, but I expect you back to training Monday morning bright and early.” “Yes father.” And I closed the link. “Ok guys, we have the ok to take the weekend, so while we are going shopping for Chi’s place, I say we make the most of it and redo our space at the same time, especially with this whole scratch/dent, closeout/discontinued thing that Vince brought up, we might as well kill two birds with one stone, and it might just help throw mother off the trail of her trying to snoop.” I said to the guys. “He has a point.” Chad said. And Vince just nodded. So, I hit the call button on the steering wheel to call Caiden. “Hello?” “Hey, I had a thought.” “Ok, hit me.” He said. “Since we are shopping for Chi’s place anyway, why not kill two birds with one stone and redo our place at the same time, that way if mother comes snooping or asking questions, we can tell her the truth, of the fact that we are redoing our office/game space.” I tell him. “Hey, it works for me, but let's mix Chi’s stuff in with ours, and just say we are seeing what works for the space, and we can get Chi’s space set up as quickly as possible.” He says. “Ok, will do.” And I hang up. And head to our space, might as well get the old stuff out, and over to the second-hand store, first. Then head to the furniture store. So, that’s what we did. I happened to catch mother coming from the back of the Packhouse when we pulled up to our outbuilding. I pointed it out to the guys, so they made a bit of a show of taking the old stuff out. Once we got our old stuff loaded, we headed out to the secondhand store, made the donation and then headed to the furniture store to check the closeout deals, and what not for Chi, and the regular things for us. I found a set of 4 chairs; they would work for Chi’s little kitchenette. They had a few scars from being moved and banged, but were still in pretty good shape, and they were sturdy. I called Caiden.

CAIDEN: It was getting close to lunch, and Chi had woken up again. “Hey, Baby.” I spoke softly to her. “Caiden?” “Yeah, baby, it’s me.” “Umm, but aren’t you supposed to be training? I don’t want to be the cause of, or reason for, you guys getting into trouble.” She says. “Sweet girl, don’t worry, we have it handled, ok, I promise.” I tell her. “Come on, let’s get you up.” I said as I helped her up out of bed. “Grab your clothes, and go shower. I will be waiting right here when you come out.” I watched as she moved about the space, grabbing what she needed and heading for the bathroom. I went into the kitchen area and made us a couple of sandwiches each. And had them ready for her when she came out of the shower. We had just sat down at the table when my phone rang. I checked the caller ID, saw that it was Jayden calling, so I put it on speaker. “Hey Bro, say hi to Chi.” I said in way of letting him know that she was both up, and he was on speaker. “Hello, sweet baby.” He said. “Hello, Jayden.” She answered him with the most beautiful blush on her cheeks. I couldn’t help but smile. “What’s up Jay?” I asked. “I called so that we could do a FaceTime. I think I found the perfect chairs for Chi, but I want her to see them.” “Ok, I will initiate it.” I said. And soon we were on a face-to-face call with Jayden and the guys. “Where are you guys at?” Chi asked him. “At the furniture store, and before you get up set baby girl, we are in the closeout/ scratch -n- dent/discontinued section of the store.” He tells her. And I watch her visibly relax a bit. “Now, here are the chairs.” He shows us the set of 4 chairs, they are nice and would fit her space well, not too wide or oversized. “How much?” Chi asked again. “That’s the best part, baby girl, only $25 for all four.” He tells her. “What? That can’t be right.” She says. “I promise you it is; they were last year's closeout, and they didn’t sell.” “Oh, ok.” “Caid, I think we have found our new couch as well.” He tells me. “Show it to me.” I tell him. And he walks a short distance to where they have the couches. He goes right over to one that is similar to the one we have, or had. “It’s comfortable. And it has a couple of matching chairs.”
